Chapter 2

Lana stared at her reflection in the mirror, trying to make sure the outfit she was wearing was not in any way odd. She couldn’t decide whether to tuck in her blouse or not. Since she was alone at home, she parked the truck in the garage and left the wolf in the back of the truck. After the entire process, Lana was famished and her back was aching.

Lana wore a sweet and genuine smile on her lips, even though she could feel the uncomfortable sting in her chest. She silently started to pack her belongings, shoving them into her schoolbag while forcing herself not to break the façade she was wearing. The last thing she wanted to show River was any weakness that he could use against her.
