Chapter 3: A spy

Maddie

I woke up in the dark, inside a van with several other girls. Robin was there, but Mark and Kevin were gone. I didn´t know what happened to them.

"Where did you get these humans? Does anyone know they’re here?" a wolf asked.

"Alpha Gerard needs them. He says to take all we can," another replied, and I shivered and looked at Robin.

"The rules have changed, man. We need more women," the wolf said casually as they began pulling us out of the van.

"We’re going to have problems… Walter."

"Do you want to upset Alpha Gerard?" Walter snapped back. The place was huge and dimly lit, more like a warehouse than anything else.

"Hide them over there, now!" Walter shouted. When they pushed me, I turned and punched him.

"Damn bitch!" he yelled, walloping me in the face, and I fell to the ground. Robin trembled beside me, my face hurt.

"Tie her up and mark her!" Walter barked.

"What a pretty girl… I’m sure they’ll all want you," another said to Robin.

"Get away from her!" I shouted, but their laughter echoed in my ears.

"Calm down… soon you’ll find your mates and everything will be fine."

What? Mates? What the hell was that supposed to mean? The wolves closed in; there were so many.

"Leave me alone! Get away from me!" I screamed as rough hands grabbed at me, scratching my legs and arms. My birthday had turned into a nightmare. I was in the hand of my worst enemy.

I heard Robin crying as they dragged her away.

"No! No! Robin! Robin!"

Then, suddenly, an explosion shook the building. The men in the warehouse scattered like mad, running everywhere.

"We’re under attack!"

"Moonvalley men!" someone shouted, and chaos erupted. A battle unfolded before my eyes—shouts, blows, blood, and bodies strewn across the ground.

Curled on the floor, I covered my face, too terrified to move. I need to escape, but I need to find Robin. I can´t leave without her.

"She is ours! No one touches her!" a voice roared, chillingly familiar.

"We found her! I can´t believe it."

"But she’s human…"

"Are you sure? No, no way"

"By the goddess… she smells delicious."

"Leave me alone! Don’t touch me!" I cried, but strong arms seized me. More wolves, more fucking wolves!

"It’s okay, little one… we’re not going to hurt you. I promise"

"Calm down…"

When I turned, horror filled me. The triplets stood before me, their eyes full of disgust, their expressions twisted with hate and contempt.

The fucking awful triplets. The lords of my nightmare.

"No… not her. No… it can’t be."

"This is wrong!"

"That human! Get her out of my sight!" Logan shouted. Someone grabbed me, and everything went black.

When I came to, I was lying on a gurney in what looked like an infirmary. Alone, still in my torn dress, I stood cautiously and peeked through the door.

The triplets were speaking to a woman in a doctor’s uniform, who looked worried but kind.

"There must be some mistake… it can’t be her," Logan said furiously, pacing the room.

Kurt, trembling, glanced at the door where I hid. Dominic was the only one who spoke with some clarity.

"Is it witchcraft? What the hell is this? We searched that warehouse because we knew they had prisoners… and we found her there? It can´t be real"

"I understand the confusion, alphas, but...What do your wolves say?" the doctor asked, her voice steady.

"That’s her. It’s really her…"

"If you don’t want her, other wolves can claim her," the doctor said calmly. She looked serious.

"Never!" the triplets answered in unison, their faces twisted with confusion and fear.

"So the desition is easy alphas" she concluded. I didn´t understand a shit. I backed away, but the floor creaked. Kurt saw me, that damnes blonde.

"Hey! Hey!" he called, and I ran—only to find him suddenly blocking my path. "Calm down, human," he said, grabbing my arm.

"Let me go! don´t touch me!" I yelled.

Logan’s cold blue eyes locked on me, the scar on his face sharp under the light. His expression darkened when he saw the bruise across my cheek.

"Who did this to her?" he demanded. His brothers turned toward me. "Who hit her?" His anger blazed. I was lost. What´s wrong with these wolves? Why did they have me here? Why did they care about what happened to me?

"Tell me who it was and we’ll kill him right now!" he roared.

"They said they worked for… someone named Gerard," I stammered. At that name, the triplets stiffened, their eyes darkening. I trembled, fighting back tears. Logan stepped closer while Dominic held me firm.

"Gerard?" Logan repeated.

"Are you sure?"

"It’s too much of a coincidence… What if she’s a spy? What if this is a trap?" Dominic said.

"I don’t know what you’re talking about! I don’t even know who Gerard is!" I cried.

"How did you end up there, girl?" the doctor asked gently.

"I was with my friend… some wolves kidnapped us," I replied, my voice shaking. I didn’t mention Mark or Kevin—it was safer that way.

"She reeks of other wolves. Did Gerard touch you? Did he mark you?" Kurt asked, stepping closer.

"No… no, I don’t know him!"

"Take off her clothes! Search for a mark!" Logan ordered. Dominic gripped me tightly as I struggled.

"Let me go!" I screamed.

"Stop! Leave her alone!" the doctor shouted, stepping between us. Dominic had already torn my dress, and I clutched the fabric desperately.

"Enough!"

Kurt inspected my legs, Logan glared into my eyes, and Dominic’s hands slid over my arms, my neck, my back, even brushing my bra and gripping my waist as though he couldn’t control himself.

I felt exposed, humiliated, and wanted to cry.

From one nightmare to another—I had escaped brutal wolves only to fall into the hands of worse ones.

"Enough!" the doctor repeated, blocking their path. "She’s not a spy. She’s not marked. They hurt her and left their scent, and now you’re doing the same?"

The triplets hesitated, silent under her fury.

"Control yourself, Doctor. Don’t forget who we are," Logan warned, his tone threatening.

"Change her clothes and tend to her wounds. We’ll be back in fifteen minutes," he said coldly.

"But—" the doctor began.

"Fifteen minutes, Karim," Logan cut her off.

"What are you going to do with me? I’m not a spy!" I whispered, trembling. She didn’t answer.

Instead, she bandaged my wounds, gave me a long shirt that fit like a dress, and soon after, Kurt appeared at the door.

"You’d better not try to escape again," he said, taking my arm and dragging me into what looked like an interrogation room.

They sat me in a cold metal chair, Dominic and Logan looming behind while Kurt fired question after question.

"What do you know about the Night Wolves?"

"Do you know Gerard?"

"How did you get there?"

"Who touched you?"

"What did they tell you?"

I answered every question with a terrified no.

"I just want to know where Robin is…please tell me," I begged, but no one replied.

"Get used to being here," Dominic muttered.

"What do you want from me?" I whispered.

"You’d better cooperate… if you want to live," Logan said before walking out. Dominic followed, leaving only Kurt.

"Eventually, you will break, human," he said. Then he locked the door behind him.

The room was freezing. I sat huddled on the chair, wrapping my arms around my legs, shivering, crying miserably. I had to get out… I had to find Mark, Robin, and Kevin. But I didn’t know where they were. Or if they were even alive.
