1, The open road

The open highway, the hum of the engine and the lack of flying bullets had me in a good mood. I couldn’t remember when I felt so relaxed as of lately. It had been a while since I went on a long ride like this. Sure, it would have been even better if the whole club had been with us, but Bones was a good companion to ride with.

I listened to the sound of approaching bikes and sighed. I had no idea what was happening or why strange bikers were on the pack land. I didn’t care why or what. I only cared about the fact it meant my father would have an excuse not to talk to me, again.

We had talked about the issues with the club for a long while. The members of the mother chapter’s board asked a lot of questions. Most of them were questions I understood why they asked, others seemed a bit strange. But we tried to answer the best we could.

I stood in the walk-in pantry for ten minutes trying to collect myself. I would have fled to my room, but I knew the chance was high I would run into someone. I knew I didn’t have it in me to face anyone right now. The outcome would be one of two. I would meet someone who pissed me off and I would end up either clawing them or cursing them.

I looked at Tite. Had she just volunteered to come back with Bones and me? Why on earth had she done something so stupid? Then it hit me she didn’t really know what she was getting herself into. She hadn’t been here when we had explained the trouble our club was in.
