I had to walk carefully and slowly behind the Mistress to avoid falling, although she was striding as fast as her long legs could go. My eyes were still trying to close from my desire to rest, and I wanted to just lie down there and sleep, but I dared not to. The blood loss was making me weak, too, and I was continually chasing away the dark spots in my vision by shaking my head and pinching myself.

CHAPTER THREE

Being a werewolf, I was used to seeing the startling difference between supernaturals and humans. Our genes were more refined, sharper. Beauty wasn't something we focused on that much since everyone had a good amount of that in their genes. But seeing the vampire before me redefined my view of perfection. His eyes were red, a typical vampire color, but they blended with the rest of his face in a savory way that made me want to stand and stare at them all day.

CHAPTER TWO

I have no idea how long we stood there but I nearly knocked again out of annoyance. “Do you want to get killed?! What are you doing?” The smaller girl whisper yelled at me as I raised my fist again. “I just felt like they didn't hear me the first time. It's been quite a while,” I replied, taking in the panic in their eyes.
