I can’t move. A dull ache pulses through my shoulders, radiating into my arms, my legs, even my tail. Every limb feels heavy, disconnected, as though they no longer belong to me. I try to move, but my body refuses to obey. Panic bubbles just beneath the surface, but I force it down. The room I’m in is dark. Or... Maybe not? Something light brushes against my eyelashes, fabric, maybe? A blindfold. Why the hell am I wearing a blindfold? I try to take stock of the situation, but thinking hurts. The fae didn’t tell me how LONG I have to deal with this woman, but I have a feeling the Fae won’t just wait patiently. Exhausted beyond words, I stumble out of the room and into a dark hallway. In my normal form, I could see fine in this. But with these dulled down human-like eyes? I can barely see a thing. How DO humans get by like this? I feel half blind.

My plan to cause chaos and divide up the men is working perfectly. It’s only been a few minutes, but inside the building, chaos is brewing. I can hear shouting, panicked voices trying to figure out where the smoke is coming from. I smirk and shift forward, crouched in the shadows as I watch the front entrance. They start pouring out, one by one. I count under my breath. One, two, three, four, five… Six... Seven, eight, nine, ten… Aaaaaand… Eleven. I mutter. Perfect. With the building cleared except for the last guy, my target most likely, I make my move.
