“Back off,” I whispered, but he only watched me, gaze dark and unreadable. His nearness stole the space from my lungs, his presence too commanding to ignore.

He sniffed,slowly, deliberately, his mouth dangerously close to my neck, and then his hand slid up, gripping my waist with a firm possessiveness that stole my breath. I gasped when his fingers slipped beneath my skirt, the fabric gliding over my thighs like a tease of sin.
