***Mermaid and Lycan***
“Enough,” A deep human voice sounded.  

The two smaller wolves stopped circling at once, their ears curling back and their bodies crouching low in submission.  

Mila hissed a warning between her fangs.  

“I said, enough.” The voice spoke again in a deep tenor of an alpha.  

While the voice was mostly meant to be used on other wolves, it could affect other species to an extent. Mila felt some of the power go from her limbs and the unicorn bowed under it.  

No, she was stronger than a command from an animal. She was a mermaid that had lived for thousands of years, and seen the rise and fall of continents. The only orders she’d ever had to obey were those of her god who had abandoned her.  

She turned on the spot, her sword readied to slice the throat of the one that dared to command her now.  

Mila the mermaid is alone after the apocalypse destroyed the human world. After losing her entire purpose in life, she wanders aimlessly through the wilderness. The world is changing in the aftermath of the humans' passing. New species are taking control of the surface world. Where will she go? Will she be able to belong?

This story is now concluded. I am so sorry for delays, there were several family emergencies and unexpected health issues that prevented the timely release of chapters. I really hope that you enjoy the latest chapters and look forward to future projects!

love the story so far. how often do you update?

so far im really enjoying the unique perspective of the characters. the story is well written and captivating. i really love that the mermaid is an ancient being and is acting like she actually has lived her long life and not coming off ignorant of herself or the world around her, nor a know it all. i can't wait to continue the rest, just hope it ends as well as it started
