I'm starting to see I need to get over my head and read the first one, things started to go a bit fast in the second one, with a lot of people you get to know in the first one.. (Ahhh... Shoot... The prices on this site is killing me for a good read 😂)

I have a question that may have been addressed in the book comments prior but I will be honest I did t read through all comment every chapter.  How did Lukas not feel the mate betrayal from the abuse Lily suffered from her adopted parents?  I apologize if this has been addressed an answered else where.  I assume at this point it is because Loatie has been providing the potions since she was an infant is why though.

So from your story line do mates only feel the betrayal if marked then?  I recall from the first book when Ash was being attacked Adien didn't feel it.

For as strong as their bond as their bond, even in the first book, he didn't feel her abuse. You find out later on that he only felt that part because Loatie marked her

It would be best to read them in order as the characters are in all the books and their history plays a big part. The first one is My Mate's a what? Then comes My Not Yet Mate followed by My Hidden Mate. My Extinct Mate is the last book in the series currently until my readers on whats@pp convince me to go back to it because I wrote a small snippet to cheer one of them up and they want it to be a full length book now 😂

She's teaching her what her family won't. It doesn't make sense now as to the reason why but it will  very soon.

by their love story as she wanted it portrayed then don't read it. If you cant move past their minor 'touching' to get to their happy ending then I don't know what else to tell you. I will not change this book. I have had several readers dm me to thank me for writing this book. It didn't just help her, it helped other people as well. And I am not apologetic for that. I can't control how other people react to her story. It would be the same thing if she went to speak at any location. Child abusers are going to get 'off' no matter how things like this are presented. I do not think the way their love story played out is wrong. To think that his love for her is twisted is wrong.  It really frustrates me that even though their relationship didn't start off by 'society norms' that people still find ways to try to make it something that its not. The real life Lukas and LIly have the best relationship that I have ever seen. He dotes on her and they have been together happily for over 20 years. They have children and grandkids, a home, and everything they could ever ask for. They built it together and have a high level of respect for each other. 7 years really isn't a big deal later on in the book. He is constantly with fighting with himself over her age. Lukas is hands down one of the purest men in a lot of books. If you are so disturbed by their romance

No, this is not "ok" just because it mimics something that occurred in real life.  This is providing tacit approval for, and glorification of, sexual assault on a minor!  There is no justifying the repeated inappropriate sexual contact and vivid descriptions of the sexual desires of a grown man for a 12 year old child!  He literally sticks his tongue in her mouth on multiple occasions and touches her body in ways that would land him in jail in our society!  I admire your desire to help your friend heal, but this is simply a ticking time bomb!  Abusers and sick minded MAPS will flock to this story, and that disgusts me.

I have a question about this book, why couldn't Gemma help lily from the very beginning? y wait till they've added to her suffering?

It can be read alone but u do get a deeper understanding of their situation and struggle since Lukas and Lily story starts in my mate's a what? Also, as a side note, my mate's a what? Is a few of the main characters of the entire series story. It's where I developed their characters. So while u can read this as a stand alone, I wouldn't recommend it

THis book is based off real life events. It is a hard read and there is a lot of parts that are extremely difficult to read but this was not written to be an easy book to read. It was written for and with my friend's approval as part of her healing journey.
