Part 8

Part 8

/Her POV/

My breath hitched in my throat as I realised what I was doing. I was momentarily stunned, not aware of the surrounding. People were staring at both of us and I realised that I was still in his arms. Awkwardly I stepped back, semi aware of his stare on me.

He cleared his throat, tugging at his hair when he noticed that I stepped away. I could feel my cheeks redden as he came to stand beside me. There was tension between both of us and it could be cut through the knife.

"Sir here's your prize" The owner of the stall said handing the huge teddy bear to Edward. With a grimace accepted it and people cheered. It was so funny because in that moment he was the one who was shy at the sudden attention. The person who was always so cocky, arrogant and in control.

"Thank you for playing" The owner grumbled, retrieving the rings from the floor. Edward just rolled his eyes at the person.

Edward then turned towards me, his eyes following my every moment and I clenched my teeth. Should I say something to break the awkward silence? I thought.

"Uh...here" He handed me the teddy bear, it was soft and fuzzy and huge. I hid my smile by pressing my mouth in the head of the teddy bear.

"Thanks..." I trailed walking behind him as he shuffled towards the another stall. He looked over his shoulder and give me a timid smile in return.

"So what are we doing next?" I questioned him, finally catching up to him. There were variety of stalls yet to be explored and I was excited to try them all with him. It was weird how I was hesitating to go along with him but now I couldn't think of anything else.

"Fancy a rollercoaster ride?" He grinned

I'm the kind of person who doesn't scare easy. I always enjoy adventures but the thought of sitting on the roller coaster with him was making my stomach turn up. Not because I was scared of the ride but because I was scared of doing something embarrassing. Let's screaming for breaking his hands by gripping them tightly.

"Are you nervous?" He questioned as we student the line for the ticket. There was a queue alright but we could easily get past it.

"A little bit. You?" I asked, surprised at how honest I was being.

He looked taken back as well because he was obviously expecting some snarky remark. Edward had a look on his face as he stared at the roller coaster and then back at me.

"I don't know which seems more frightening, you or the roller coaster"

My mouth parted in shock. Did you just compare me to that bloody non living object? He's such a jerk. I take back all the good things I said about him.

"You're such a jerk"

He spluttered, shaking his head at me, "That's not what I meant...Jesus! Forget it"

Why was he so difficult? I rolled my eyes.

"Fine" I moved away from him, purposely leaning against the railing and trying to think about positive thoughts to get rid of the nervousness.

"Cara" He gritted his teeth when he noticed that I walked away from him. I should not pay attention and just ignore him for behaving in that manner but I couldn't resist. Stupid stupid heart.

"What?" I barked, crossing my arms against the chest petutantly. He looked pale at my tone, obviously not expecting the anger radiating from my voice. But I was done for.

He winced, inching closer towards me. The tip of his shoes brushed lightly against my toe. And I could feel his breath falling on my face. I tried not to show how affected I was with no distance between us. The way his eyes darkened as if he could read the thoughts going inside my head made my toes curl. His mouth was set in a firm line, his hands gripping the railing I was leaning on. To any passerby it would look like we were about to kiss or already kissed.

He huskily whispered, "I'm sorry"

It should not be enough. But I dumbly nodded my head. The way he was affecting my thoughts was surreal. I had never let anyone control me the way he did. No one affected me as much as he did. It was crazy.

My breathing faltered as his eyes shifted towards my lips. I licked them nervously and noticed his nose flared at my action and his eyes widened slightly.

"It's okay" I softly cooed, scared of breaking the moment in between us. But as if something snapped inside him he quickly moved away and nodded his head. I furrowed my brows. Was it something I said?

"Edward" I called his name and he sharply turned to look at me.

I gulped at his stare and shook my head. It was quite after that because I couldn't form any words to say and he decided to ignore me. Again.

The roller coaster ride was fun and it was something I had never expected. Instead of me gripping his hands, Edward himself took my hand in his and lied that he was scared of roller coasters. It didn't take a genius to figure out that he was lying.

After the roller coaster I puked the nachos and laughed through it because they were worth it. Edward did not find it funny though.

"Come on. It was funny!" I giggled poking his arm as he was sulking like a baby. And it was me who puked.

Edward grumbled turning towards me and glared, "It wasn't. We are not getting on any more rides"

"But-"

"Do you want to puke again?"

"Isn't that the part of the experience?" I questioned him as we shuffled inside the barbeque nation. The sizzling sound of the meat along with the strong aroma of spices made my stomach rumble. It reminded me that it was nearing lunch time.

"Last time I checked it wasn't"

"Ugh you are such a spoilsport" I huffed after I picked the dish from the rack.

Everything looked amazing and I was having hard time deciding what to get. It was a open grill so it was easy to see everything cooking right in front. Edward however was leaning towards the steak as the already had mashed potatoes and salad on the side on his plate.

"Tell me something I don't know" He smirked as if it was a compliment. How was he so arrogant?

"Let's eat already!" I muttered as I picked the grilled chicken from the grill. It made my mouth water and I noticed that Edward was waiting for me in the corner. He already had his food on the plate.

"Pick a table" Edward said as he came by my side.

"Does it matter? You would have a problem with it anyway" I snarled, trying to get back at him for his previous comment. He did not even look affected by that simply rolled his eyes.

"Seriously?"

"Fine. Let's sit there" I pointed in the corner, there was only three chairs in that area and it was close to the grill.

He followed me to the table and we quietly are, stealing glances at each other throughout the lunch.

It was ridiculous how we forgot the purpose of our trip so easily. After lunch we thought it was good idea, okay fine, I thought it was a good idea to explore the jewellery stalls.

The jewelry stalls were endless and offering so different varieties that I had to waste an hour. Edward was bored but he did not complain the entire time, occasionally commenting about my choices until I glared at him and he stayed quiet.

There was a horror show at 4pm so we decided to wait for a while and that turned into two hours. It was almost evening when it dawned on us that we were late.

The sun fell asleep in between the clouds, the dark clouds covering her beauty. It felt like we were in a movie as we drove towards the sunset, enjoying the way trees on the both side of the road stood strong, unmoving like the soldiers of sun.

"Do you think we can make it on time?" I whispered softly, lifting my head to look at Edward.

"Hopefully we can" He said as we passed the board that read 'Three miles'.

"We should have set an alarm" I sighed while looking at my phone which was dead. Edward had his phone but the genius he was decided to silence it while we were in the the fair. So the endless calls received from the family were ignored.

Edward chuckled, "And here I thought you were with the responsible one"

I gasped dramatically and shook my head. Because if anything I was irresponsible. My mother would have supported my statement with her proofs.

"Then you thought wrong"

He hummed and just then we heard a screech and I immediately looked ahead. There was no one and Edward cursed, banging his hand against the steering wheel as the car came to stop.

"Shit shit shit!" He exclaimed, pushing himself out of the car and slammed the door shut. What happened?

I got out of the car as well and noticed that the tires of the car were flat. My eyes widened in horror. We were trapped in the middle of the road with flat tires. Could it get any more worse? I swallowed the lump formed in my throat hoping that he had a spare.

"Please tell me you have a spare tire"

Edward painfully sighed, "I always keep the spare but this is not my car."

I groaned slapping my forehead with my palm. How did I forget that it was Armund's rover?

"Oh my god we are going to die, aren't we?" I squeaked pacing around the car back and forth. I couldn't believe that we were going to die in that abandoned road.

"Oh my god. My mother is going to kill me if she finds out that I was shopping in a fair. What about?-"

I gasped as his lips pressed against mine. My eyes widened as he started moving his lips against mine, tightening his hold on my waist. Edward was kissing me. Holy shit.

Without thinking anything I threw my arm around his neck and pulled him closer, enjoying the way his lips felt against mine. I could feel the warmth spread throughout my body as he swiped his tongue across my bottom lip. It was a sensation I could never forget, my skin prickled with goosebumps and I let out a whimper.

He coaxed my mouth open with his tongue and slowly slipped inside. I moaned, tasting the coffee on his tongue. We desperately swiped our tongues against each other, trying to dominate. But in the end I sagged against him, letting him explore my mouth.

Suddenly his phone rang, making me jump and I looked at his swollen lips. What have we done?
