“It was you who came along with Alex and saved me from Isaac?” I asked Julia, impressively.

“Yes, I wish we had been more careful and not let him slip away but making sure that you were okay was our first priority,” Julia said with a smile.

I absolutely admired this girl, Julia. She was such a badass. Her tattoos and piercings were absolutely fascinating and only added to her persona. She seemed to be so bold, so tough.

The truth was that I admired all these girls: Millie, Hailey and even Stella (who was with Millie’s mom at the moment). They were all so good-natured, cool and fun to hang out with.

“Julia!” Hailey scolded, cutting off my thoughts, “Stay still!”

I snickered while Millie tried hard to not to even form a smile. Hailey turned to me and scowled, “If you move your facial muscles while that herbal mask is applied on your face, then you will develop wrinkles!”

“What!” I shrieked and instinctively reached up to touch my face. But, Hailey swatted my hand away before I could.

She placed her hands on her hips, “No moving, speaking or touching,” she instructed, making eye contact with Julia, Millie and me.

I tried to exhale a very tired breath from my lips. As much fun as I was having with these girls since the last one hour (after they somehow managed to sneak in through the window), I was not one for these girlish thingies…face masks and such.

And, something told me that Millie and Julia were not much of a fan either, but, alas, we kept our mouths shut and let Hailey have her way with us (after she threatened us with dire consequences if we didn’t comply).

“I want to see my face,” Julia said subtly, trying not to move her mouth at all. It was quite funny actually, it looked like a robot was speaking.

“Trust me, you don’t want to,” Millie assured her, through her teeth.

I clamped my teeth together, to keep from laughing or speaking and without asking for permission, turned to the wardrobe mirror.

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…”

That was me, screaming after seeing my bloody Mary very scary reflection on the mirror.

Hailey quickly rushed to my side and clamped a hand over my mouth, “Keep it low, or the guys will hear us!” she hissed.

I got my second consecutive scare when I saw Hailey’s mask covered face, up this close, and jumped three feet away from her.

‘What did you do to my face?” I asked her in horror.

She rolled her eyes, “You will thank me after this mask comes off.”

“Hey, girls,” Julia interjected, with a mischievous smirk, “a very brilliant idea just popped in my mind. Let’s have some fun while this mask is still on.”

Needless to say, Julia didn’t have to elaborate on the idea because great minds think alike.

All of us smirked at each other and gave each other mental thumbs up.

Boy’s night, here we come.

The four of us huddled our heads together as we spied on the guys who were lounging lazily on the sofa, in front of the big screen TV, watching a horror movie. We were currently standing on the edge of the living room staircase, deciding on a strategy.

“Listen,” Hailey whispered, “Millie, you go after Alex. Kris, you will go after Ashton and Dylan. Julia, you are assigned to Blake and I will go and scare Cameron.”

Millie and Julia nodded, rubbing their hands excitedly.

“Wait,” I interrupted, “why do I get two of them while you all get one?”

Hailey patted my back, “Because, you have the most potential out of the four of us,”

What did she mean by that? Potential for scaring away people?

Before I could ask her, she whisper-yelled, “Come on, ghosts, ATTACK!”

And, with that, they marched ahead, while I stood behind, pondering on a very important question: Who was Dylan?

Then, my slow brain applied logic, and used the method of elimination to recognize Dylan. Since I already recognized Blake, Ashton, Alex and Cameron, I figured that the dude who was biting his nails and shaking miserably in one corner was Dylan.

By the time, I made it to the sofa, the other girls had already done half of their jobs and screams (yes, the so called daredevils were screaming) and evil, witchy, dramatic laughter (of the so called ghosts) resonated in the living room.

Ashton and Dylan aka as my targets had their eyes glued on the TV screen. They must have mistaken the noises to be coming from the movie. I tiptoed towards Dylan and tapped his shoulder.

I didn’t even have to give a made up ghostly laughter, before he jumped away with a very unmanly scream and called for ‘Stella’.

Seriously? This grown up dude was calling a baby to help him?

He looked like he was already half-conscious, so, I decided not to torment the poor guy further and moved on to my next target: Ashton.

But, before I could tap on Ashton’s shoulder, someone tapped on my shoulder. As soon as I turned around, I was left gasping for breaths when a bucket load of water was tossed on my face.

What the-

I blinked profusely, trying to make out the face of the culprit and also get the freaking water out of my eyes. When my vision cleared, I gasped yet again in shock.

Of course, it would be him! Alexander, the great!

Before I could have his throat, he reached for another bucket and in a similar fashion, drenched Julia, Hailey and Millie. I could just stare at him with my mouth wide open.

Where did he even get the buckets from? And, when?

“What the hell is going on?” Ashton voiced in confusion, turning around to take in the scene.

At least finally he realized that a very different horror movie was playing behind him.

“I would say, vampirism 101 gone wrong,” Cameron commented, still reeling from the after effects of the shock he had received.

“I got to see the real face of hellcat today,” Blake shuddered. Hailey gave him a vicious glare.

“Alex, you ruined it!” Julia pouted.

“Ruined it?” I fumed, “he drowned it, that too in a very nasty way!”

Alex shook his head and turned to me, “I told you not to come out of that room after 10pm.”

“First of all, that’s total crap and secondly, I am not letting you get away with this!” I seethed, picking up one of the buckets, which was still full. And before Alex could foresee what was going to happen, I emptied it over his head.

Silence. Total and absolute silence.

Everyone looked at me in horror, while Alex’s head was hung low from impact.

Uh oh. What happened now? I was just getting even!

But, I am ashamed to admit that I let out a shriek worse than Dylan and even called for Stella when Alex slowly lifted up his head.

Pure murderous look! That’s what he was giving me.

I gulped and backed away slowly, thinking of ways to make it out of there alive.

While Alex was busy working in slow motion, I dashed towards the front door, with every intention of running away and live in the forest with wild animals instead.

But, of course, he caught up to me, grabbing my wrist.

“You shouldn’t have done that,” he said in a very deadly tone.

Before I do something more stupid like slapping him, or kicking him to escape, the doorbell rang.

I exhaled a sigh of relief.

I cold kiss the person who decided to interrupt at such a perfect time. Alex cursed under his breath, still not releasing my hand and unlocked the door.

The door opened to reveal a girl about our age, whose very first move was to jump on Alex, hugging the life out of him, while Alex’s face went completely pale.

“Who invited Alex’s ex?” I heard Blake saying.
