Kara woke up from the sounds of birds chirping outside. Sun shone right into her eyes, making her feel irritated from its direct impact.

Rubbing the sleep out of her eyes clumsily she sat up straight, feeling the back of the couch against her elbow.

But the coldness hit her like a prickling needle. The chill was in the air, but the warmth that she was missing had come from someone whom she really wanted to wake up with.

Sadly, he was already gone.

Her eyes landed on the wall clock which showed two pm in the afternoon. She had not even realized that she had slept so much.

Her eyes searched for James, praying that he was still here but her heart knew that he was not. It was a strange feeling. But oddly, her heart thudded like a jackhammer inside her chest whenever he was near. She did not know if it was psychological or a tie of her soul to James's, but she always knew when he was nearby her.

Finding the room completely empty, she stood up from the couch with grim expressions. She really wanted to see him again.

"Will you come back to me?" She whispered quietly to his picture that was set right next to the couch on a lamp stand.

The question hung heavy in the air. The only sound that she could hear was of the wind coming through the window.

She slipped from the couch to stand straight, admiring his room with her gaze. His room was as perfect and clean as it could be.

The one thing that she had noticed about him was that he liked to stay clean. Very, very clean. He showered everyday. His aftershave and soap had a scent that she had come to crave. As there was not even a day that passed by without them seeing each other, his smell lingered inside her memory like a part of her own being.

His room did not have even a trace of dirt. The chocolate colored walls, brown interior, the lamp stand beside his table, the pursian, cream rug on the cold, white marble floor, everything was stainless and devoid of any dirt and every little thing, even his pen was set where it should be.

Giving a last, longing gaze around his room she decided to head out to her own to freshen up.

Even though she lived just a few house down from here, since her parents and James parents were best friends, and she came here often since childhood, they had given her a room here too.

Exiting James's room quietly, she passed a store room that separated her room from James's and entered inside.

Light yellow and sky tones greeted her with warmth immediately. She was not much of cleaned person as James. Her clothes on the bed and scattered makeup on the dressing table clearly conveyed that.

In fifteen minutes she had brushed her teeth and face. Combing roughly through her hair with her fingers, she pulled down the hem of blue sweater, swatting at the creases to straighten it out. Once she was satisfied with her appearance, she opened the bathroom door and headed out of the room.

Her left hand grabbed the railing that circled down to the ground floor as she walked towards the stairs. The marble floor made a light slappy sound as her pink, rubber slippers carried her gentle footsteps.

"I told him not to do it, daddy!" Damon shouted, "He still pushed her down. She did not want to jump."

"Damon!" Kara scolded him weekly.

Kara's leg had a bandage wrapped around it from toes to her ankle. Although thankfully her bone had not broke, her ankle had still twisted to an awkward angle that left her in bed for a couple of days to come.

Damon's father, Neil, grabbed James's collar in anger and shouted, "How many more times do I have to tell you James to stay in your limits? You always do bad things but this time you went too far kid! You hurt Kara."

James' small form adamantly tried to free himself off his dad's grip, "I did not anything wrong. There was..." he started to speak but his dad pushed him away saying,

"Stay away from Damon and Kara if you can not control these petty, little idiocies of yours."

"What is the use of me being good?" James shouted, "You are always going to take Damon's side!"

His angry gaze swung to Kara who was half laying on the bed with worried expressions on her face and hissed, "I should have just let her die!"

Hisses of surprise and shock ran all over the room but his eyes were focused on Kara who looked more hurt from his words than the pain in her feet.

"James! How dare you?" Rita, his mother exclaimed angrily.

He did not wait around anymore. Turning away from everyone he stormed out of the room.
