Chapter 7
I shook my head as I looked at him.
"Why?" He asked, looking shocked. Why did this man look shocked? I mean, do I look like I'm a player or something? You know, those women who won't last a day without a boyfriend.
"Why? Ahhh... I guess when they look at me and find me beautiful; they're thinking that I'm already taken?" I said, putting a humor on it as I gave him a grin. He chuckled and nodded.
I want to ask him if he has one but then something stops me. What if he has a girlfriend? Well that won't affect me anyway.
When our eyes met, the atmosphere instantly changed. We stayed for seems like a thousand years but it’s just a minute or two.
Then he walked towards me until our noses touched. He brought up his hand and touched my cheek. Shocked? Yes. Ecstatic? Definitely. I mean, who wouldn't? We just met like two minutes ago and he's being close to me like this. If I were in my right mind, I would've thought that he was a pervert and would step back away from him. But...... My legs betrayed me by staying in place.
"Goodnight, Aella." He whispered to me and then left.
Wait?
What!
Why would he suddenly do that and then do nothing? He just said goodnight. And let's not forget that he left.
Goodness! I am so embarrassed. You wouldn't be embarrassed if you didn't assume that he'll do something. Someone from my mind said.
I remind myself to move. Gladly, my body cooperates with me.
"How would I look at him tomorrow?" I asked myself.
That's very simple, open your eyes and look at him. That's all you need to do.
Vincent POV
I didn't know what came to my mind that I went to her so close it touched our nose. I just can't stop myself from walking closer to her and touching her beautiful face. It has its own magnet. Her tiny but pointed nose, her eyes that sparkle at night and the thickness of her eyelashes and her lips, her lips. Yes her lips--- Her lips that whisper me to kiss it.
I control myself by trying really hard to look away from her. And I succeeded.
I force myself to walk away because I know that if I kiss her, tomorrow will be awkward for the both of us. And I don't like that to happen.
Why would that be awkward? Someone from my mind asks.
Because she's different from the other women you dated. Someone replied.
She's no different from others. They all wanted your money, your power. They just wanted to use you for their owngood.
No! I think she's different.
Why would you think that? Do you know her?
Maybe not but you know her family. You know what they like and maybe just maybe, when it comes to loving someone, she's like Andrew--- The man that even until now mourns your sister. The man that loves your little sister so much that he had to commit suicide.
Yes, maybe. But you should remember that no one is good for you, are you sure you'll still like her if she has a dark past like yours? Darker than yours. I mean.
Aella POV
"Aella Melody! What are you doing?" I heard my loving mother shout as she saw me in the act of putting the fruit inside my mouth with bare hands.
When she shouted, the fruit bowl almost slipped into my hands.
"Just one," I said to her giving her my best puppy dog face and she rolled her eyes and shook her head.
We are now preparing for the reunion. We were told that Nancy's parents would be here in the afternoon after they went to the hospital for her father's therapy.
"Hey Aunt!" Tina said as she fished in her hands in the bowl and tried to get a piece of watermelon.
"Ouch!!!" She said when I pat her hands so that she won't be getting any.
"Your hands are so dirty. Look at that." I said, pointing at her hands. "Where have you been?" I asked my niece.
"I was in GM's garden when I saw this." She said, showing me pieces of white flowers.
"You're dead when GM sees you," I said to her as we walked to the table beside the pool to put the big bowl of fruits.
"She knew. I even gave her one of these." She replied to me. "Here," She said as she put the flower in my ear and grinned. "Put this one and don't you dare take it away. And besides the color suit’s your dress." Tina said as she pointed to the flower that now is on my ear. Then she runs towards Zoey and Nancy who are now sitting near the pool.
Shaking my head, I grinned at what my niece did. She gave flowers to every woman in our family. They’re all wearing different flowers on their ears.
"So I guess you were all bewitched by Tina's charm," I said to all of them as I put down the fruit bowl.
