9. Brothers
Unknown
“And now you’re telling me?”
“Excuse me, but I was on a little “trip”, turning Heaven and Hell upside down, searching for anyone who could possibly know anything about this! I even asked the Elders!”
“And what did they say?”
“Seriously? Do you really think I would be here, if they gave me any ounce of information?”
“But what were you doing there in the first place?”
“I told you, I was tracking a demon who happened to kill a human right in that campus. And apparently, she was the only one who actually ever interacted with the victim, so I was supposed to question her, when that happened.”
This was boring...like really boring...
I laid sprawled on the couch, watching my dear brothers argue over some random human who apparently managed to touch Azrael and remain pretty much alive...
This really was something, given the fact that no human being ever succeeded on doing that, without having a one way ticket straight to Heaven or Hell, depending on the case.
“So...are you a hundred percent sure that she really touched you, like, skin on skin?”
“Of course I am sure!
She was standing there, right in front of me and I didn’t even realize she did that until I felt her warm hand, tightly CLUTCHING on my BARE arm!”
“Oh...I really don’t know what to say, brother, I’m really sorry to disappoint you, but I’ve never heard about anything like this before...”
“Why don’t you simply ask Father?” I butted in, lazily stretching on the couch and also earning a murderous glower from him.
“I would, Raph, IF I COULD ACTUALLY FIND HIM!” He yelled, highly annoyed, throwing his hands in the air.
“Whoa, chill Raz, don’t get your panties twisted in a bunch now, will ya?” I teased, earning a scowl from him.
“Just shut up,” He angrily muttered, then turned his attention back to Lucifer.
“Who invited him anyway?” He then asked Lucifer, pointing towards me like I couldn’t even hear what they were talking about.
Hah! Like that would ever hurt me.
I shook my head, smirking to myself,
“I invited myself, thank you very much,” I answered before our brother could, earning another murderous glare from him.
“Well, then, if you took the liberty of inviting yourself, could you at least do us a favor and shut up already?” He angrily spat, earning an amused chuckle from me.
Oh Raz Raz...
Seeing him getting so fired up really amused me, so I decided to tease him a little more…
“So, do tell, brother... How did it feel like? Was it good?” I smirked, wiggling my eyebrows, noticing how his face slowly started to turn red, boiling in anger.
Uh oh...
Before I could even realize what was happening he was already right in front of me and in one swift motion, he curled his fingers around my throat, effortlessly lifting me off the ground.
Blake
After successfully managing to take a car and drive off of our property without having too much to explain to one of our guards, I drove to Luc’s place, remembering the exact location since I went there once when he invited Ricky and I over for dinner.
Once I reached the huge fancy iron gates I pressed the brake, watching them slowly open for me and once I had enough space I shifted in gear and entered the big concrete alley.
I parked the car right next to the big fancy sculptured fountain, representing an angel pouring water from a bowl -which I thought was extremely beautiful by the way- then got out and walked straight towards the main entrance.
Knocking a few times on the huge wooden door, I noticed no one bothered to answer so I slowly, hesitantly turned the doorknob, realizing it was actually open.
Getting inside in the main hall, I started to carefully look around, searching for him.
“Hello?”
Wandering around, I suddenly heard a grunt coming from the living room, so I hurried to check if he was there.
But as soon as I entered the enormous room, I loudly gasped in horror at the scene unfolding in front of my eyes.
There was that “officer Azrael” guy, now dressed as a civilian, effortlessly holding another guy by the throat, his feet dangling in the air, squirming in his hold as Luc simply watched them, seeming rather bored.
What the fuck? Why isn’t he doing anything?
Fearing for the unknown guy’s life, I did the only thing that crossed my mind; scream.
“Oh my God! Luc! Stop him!”
As soon as those words escaped my lips, their heads simultaneously snapped towards me, each of them staring at me, utterly dumbfounded.
“Oh, no no no, Blake, they’re not-” Before Luc could finish his sentence, the creepy officer abruptly cut him off, letting the other guy go and stalked straight towards me with a murderous glower etched all over his god-like face.
“You.”
My body suddenly started to violently tremble, my mind screaming at me to turn around and run, thinking that he might want to hurt me too but as much as I wanted to listen to myself, my legs seemed to disobey, keeping me rooted to the spot, completely vulnerable at the incoming danger.
His deep blue irises slightly darkened and with another single step he was already right in front of me, his hot breath fanning all over my face.
“P-please, d-don’t hurt me,” I weakly pleaded, staring up at him like a scared child, my heart wildly thumping inside my chest as his burning gaze kept digging deep inside of me, seemingly trying to find something.
He then slowly, hesitantly brought his big hand towards my cheek and in one gentle motion, he glided the back of his fingers over my skin, leaving a warm trail behind.
I let out a shaky breath, my body slowly starting to calm down, his small, harmless gesture being enough for me to understand that he had no intention of hurting me.
“So, she is the one,” I heard a deep, soft voice commenting from somewhere behind Azrael, drawing my attention, so I tilted my head to the side, noticing that guy Azrael was choking only moments ago now smirking in our direction.
The one? What the hell is he talking about?
“Brother, come on, let’s not scare our guest now, shall we?” Luc’s calm, slightly amused tone broke the silence and only now I noticed him coming closer, gently tugging at Azrael’s arm, coaxing him to take a step back.
“B-brother?” I sputtered, staring at them both, utterly dumbstruck.
“Yes. Blake, meet my brothers, Azrael and Raphael.”
