The Voice

After the training with Joshua, I decided to take a walk in the woods. I love being in the woods. Maybe it sounds weird, but it feels like coming ‘home’ when I hear the birds singing, the wind howling in the trees and the sun peeking through the leafs. I take out my shoes and hold them in my hands. I like walking bare feet, it’s a habit of mine since I was a kid. I like the connection I have with the ground.

I walked to my favourite spot, deep in the forest. It’s like heaven. An open area, surrounded by the most beautiful trees and a pond in the middle. The water is skyblue. I sit down the water’s edge, my feet in the water. The temperature is still nice, even in september. It’s amazing over here. Not many people knows about this place. It’s deep into the forest, close at the southern border of our pack. I come here to think, to rest and to pray. Yes, pray. I always felt a strong bond with the Moon Goddess, especially when I’m in the woods. And I want answers. So I look over the water and pray.

Moon Goddess, you know I am here. You know I’ve been talking to my mother. She says we are the chosen ones. I need answers. Who am I? Whát am I? I feel I’m different, I always felt. Mom always told me I ám special. But I want to know more. Why can’t I connect with my inner wolf, my inner self? But I can growl! That doesn’t make sense… Why am I here, on earth? My mom told me I should’ve been a girl, you let me born a boy. That’s something big, right? Please, explain me. Please, I have to know!

I sigh. I know I am impatiënt. I know, mom told me to wait and that Goddess will explain to me when the time is right. But I feel in peace here, and you can always try, right? I chuckle with a smile on my face. Moon Goddess never answers me, but I can feel she’s here. I know she heard me, that’s enough for me right now. I look at my watch. Crap, it’s almost diner time! I need to hurry if I want to be on time. Damn it.. Looks like I’m getting myself an endurance training after all, and I start running back home.

That’s when I heard a voice. Like a spark, from my ear - traveling through my body.

Adam, my son. I know you have questions. You will know soon.

I stopped running. I looked around me, confused. I even thought I imagined it. What was that? Whose voice was that? It sounded like the sweetest voice, pure and melodic. Was that the Goddess?
