Melanie Stevenson, a painter from USA, inherits a castle in a French rural town from her aunt which she never met. The castle is the home of the vampire Ademar de Roseyer. She finds his late fiancée diary and starts having visions of her. 

She did not kill herself like Ademar told her someone killed Blanche on the eve of her wedding. Melanie is determined to find out who killed Blanche. Melanie looks very much like Blanche. Is that a coincidence or is there more to it? She falls in love with Ademar but can she trust him?
