Rosaline

'A beautiful name for a beautiful girl'

'You're mine'

What. The. Hell. Just. Happened.

I can still feel the soft lips of that handsome stranger on my cheek his scent was so intoxicating. The smell of pure male not a hint of store-bought cologne. God sure has molded him in the godlike version of Adonis. His eyes. His beautiful grey eyes that darken when I said my name.

Who is he?

"Move it," a hostile voice brought me out of my reverie. I then noticed I was still standing near the table blankly staring through the door he left.

"Oh. Sorry." I said to the person. It was the blonde girl he was sitting with. His girlfriend?

Come on Rosa, would he actually do what he just did to me in front of his girlfriend? My subconscious questioned me sarcastically.

She pushed passed by me with little force causing me to stumble. "Hey" I called out after her.

"Stay away from him," She sneered giving me a once over then sniffed in disgust.

"I don't even know him. Why would I want him?" I asked totally confused by this girl's hostility.

"Don't play dumb you little bitch. Everyone knows who he is," she spat.

"Is there a problem here?" I heard Eva said coolly as she came to my side. The girl stepped back when she noticed Eva next to me.

"Everything is fine. Just thanking her for the lovely drinks. My boyfriend had to rush back to work," she said smiling at Eva.

The word boyfriend erupted a sense of jealousy in me, something I never knew I had and for a complete stranger.

"Boyfriend huh? Didn't seem so a few minutes ago," Eva said smugly.

"It's ...It's a game we play." She said shrugging her shoulders.

"I bet it is. Have a nice day. We got work to do," Eva said pushing me towards the back room.

I heard a few mutters between them then the slamming of the store door.

Eva made an appearance by the door and simply smiled at me, "What?" I asked as I started to wash some coffee mugs.

"Nothing. Just have an open mind in what is about to happen to you" she said with a smile then left.

Since when she has become so wise, I said to myself.

The rest of my workday went by smoothly with my mind on that handsome stranger. The way his neatly trimmed beard tickled my skin as he kissed my cheek, his voice was so soothing.

Sitting behind the counter waiting for the last of the patrons to leave, I questioned what does he want with me. When he finds out where I live and I'm not some perfect girl, he would think twice in pursuing me. His clothes spoke wealth. The way he held himself when he approached me was screaming powerful and certainly a playboy.

I probably won't be seeing him again. I just have to ignore it all.

"Excuse me, I'm looking for a Rosaline," a voice said.

"That's me," I said looking at the guy before me in a dark suit. He had a warm smile and was looking at me like a kid looking up to his idol.

"This is for you." He said handing me a rectangular box.

"Who's it from?" I asked.

"He says you would know when you open it. Have a good evening ma'am. It's an honor meeting you" he said bowing respectfully then left.

Strange.

I opened the box and surprised to find three beautiful chrysanthemum flowers in three different shades of pink. I have always found these flowers unique and had a beauty of their own. My favorite flower.

A small envelope was placed on them with my name in beautiful cursive letters, opening it, I read the note I found inside. It was from him.

A rose cannot compare to someone so beautiful and is named after it won't even do it justice.

A beautiful name for a beautiful girl.

"Quite a charmer huh," I said to myself tucking away the note.

Caiden

Two hours earlier

When I made it back to my office, I was annoyed at the fact I was called away from my mate due to a little situation in Redmond with a few rogues that I knew Micah can handle.

"This is what I was called for" I growled at him bringing him to his knees with my power of manipulation.

"Damn it. I thought you would want a hands-on approach with this report" he yelled out in pain.

"I found her. She trumps everything else," I said throwing him against the wall. My guards winced as Micah cracked the wall behind him.

He simply got up and stalked towards me. "I told you not to do that" he grounded out.

"Shut up. You deserve it." I said sitting behind my desk.

"Sorry bro," he said grinning.

After a moment of silence, they asked the question they have been itching to ask since I revealed that I found my mate.

"Well. Who is she? " Micah asked impatiently.

I smiled remembering her smile, her voice, the feel of her skin. "Her name is Rosaline. She works at that coffee shop around the corner. Man, if you see her she is the epitome of beauty. Her voice so angelic and the way her eyes light up when she does. She's just... Perfect" I said still lost in the vision of Rosaline that was etched in my mind.

"Does she know that she's our next queen?" he asked.

I turned to them, "I don't even think she knows who I am in her world either. She's human" I said with an apprehensive smile.

"Come again?" one of my guards asked.

"I know. I know. That's why I am not announcing it. I gotta ease it all onto her. No one outside this room should learn of her. Understood?" I calmly said.

"Yes sir," they all said with wide grins. It was infectious I had to return their grins.

"Well do you know how to get closer to her? You're not that smooth with the ladies." Micah calmly pointed out.

"A few meetings together. Maybe. I would have to get Kiera to schedule in when I'm available to do that. Or maybe Kiera should just call her and find out whenever she's available." I said lost in thought.

Silence followed after that.

"Dude. No. " Micah said. All three of them stood staring at me blankly what did I say? Shouldn't I consider her time also?

"Flowers?" I asked uncertainly.

"That's a start. Tomorrow how bout you get your own coffee" Micah suggested.

"Why? Kiera does that. Plus, I have an early meeting with some investors from LA" I said confused.

Again, with the blank stares from them. Maybe I do need help in this department.

"Just go get your own coffee tomorrow Cay," Micah said sounding frustrated.

"Sir how bout you send her the flowers today? One step at a time" my guard said.

"And I have the perfect one in mind," I said remembering the flowers that mom always grew in her garden.

Sending a quick text to my mother's assistant, I allowed myself to relax and think of my next move with my mate. I will have to tread lightly with her.

A frown came upon my face by Rion's lack of excitement in finding our mate.

'Are you okay?' I asked him, truly concerned.

'Yes, my friend. You know how I worry. She's a human which means we must send guards to watch over her when we can't. We can never tell who's observing our moves. Enemies are still out in plain sight,' he relayed to me.

I was so excited to find her that not once did I fully assess the situation of our mating. Things must be put in place.
