.6. Stealing the first kiss.
Zane parked his car next to the house, which supposedly was the one where Omega lived. He knocked and kept ringing the bell for ten minutes straight, but ended up leaving the place enraged.
Nobody opened the door for him- the whole house was dark and somewhat lifeless. The young man tried to calm himself down by thinking that she already headed to his house. Thankfully- the other Omegas were there to let the guests in.
When he finally got back- the music could be heard almost a mile away from the house. Most people already started drinking and having a fantastic time. When he stepped inside, everyone cheered for their Alpha-to-be. Zane ordered some Omegas to get the flowers from his car and get them to his room- since that was where he planned to take Camilla later on.
"Zane, what took you so long?" Kaiden approached him, handing a glass of beer to his best friend. Zane grabbed it and thanked him before gulping it down in seconds.
"Had to take care of some things, but now I'm here, ain't I?" Zane laughed, trying to scan the crowd without raising any suspicion in his friend. Of course, he failed- Kaiden had the talent to come out as the lazies person, but nothing missed his eye.
"Looking for someone special, eh?" Kaiden teased him, bumping into his side playfully.
"Matter of fact, yes, I am. Excuse me; I'll disappear within the crowd to see if the person is here," Zane grinned as he returned the empty glass to his friend.
He went around the main halls, stood by some people for a friendly chat, and looked for Camilla. It took more than three hours for him to understand that she wasn't there. When the realization hit him- Zane couldn't help but feel anger. He tried to be kind, and even that didn't work. What the actual fuck that woman wanted?
Instead of going mental and smashing something in rage- he decided to excuse himself and leave the party. Of course, Kaiden thought that it's a ridiculous idea, especially since Zane was the host of the party. But he didn't care- all the soon-to-be Alpha wanted was to get his mind out of the gutter and relax.
Zane headed to his bedroom and locked himself in. At this point- he didn't have the strength to shower or even take his clothes off. As soon as his head collided with a pillow, he passed out.
The next morning he woke up feeling rather grumpy. Zane checked his social media, smiling at all comments and posts from his friends- praising the party at the Alpha's home. For a while, he sat and stared at his phone, thinking about getting back to Omega. He wanted her there yesterday, and even despite that- she didn't arrive.
Within an hour, Zane had taken a shower, dressed up, grabbed some snacks for breakfast, and ended up in his car. The young man sped to school as if his life depended on it. As usual- he parked his car and rushed towards the lockers. His eyes fell on Camilla; today, she was wearing a flirty dress her hair down. Zane would lie if he tried to convince someone that the girl didn't look ravishing.
The same Omega stood by her side; the guy visibly tensed, noticing Zane staring at them. As soon as he took a step towards Omegas- the guy excused himself and rushed away from the lockers.
Zane approached Camilla from her back and punched her locked door- closing it with a loud bang. She yelped in surprise and faced him- the look of surprise instantly replaced by one of anger.
"You again. Crazy stalker," Camilla snarled.
"Listen, I quit the damn job, you got what you wanted, why can't you leave me alone?" she groaned, sounding more annoyed than he had ever heard.
"You didn't appear yesterday, I was worried," Zane leaned against her locker, reducing the distance between their bodies.
"I know, maybe because I didn't want to go? Oh, I don't care. Just because you're the next-in-line Alpha of this pack doesn't mean that I'll drop on my knees to kiss your ass," Camilla splat back.
Zane couldn't hide how impressed he was by her attitude. She acted so innocently and submissive while she worked in their house- this side of her was quite shocking. Aside from that, Zane knew that he liked her sassy attitude, Camilla was the first woman to tell him off.
"Such a big mouth for such a small girl," He smirked, enjoying the reaction he was getting out of her.
"Oh, sorry, am I not stroking your ego enough yet?"
Zane laughed, genuinely amused by her sarcastic answers. Most of the people in the hall kept staring at them. Until today nobody had seen their next leader laughing so loudly next to a girl. Some people instantly assumed that both might be mates, but as soon as Camilla heard the whispers- she faked gagging sounds.
"Don't worry, baby, you're stroking my ego just right, and that's not the only thing you can get your pretty little mouth on," Zane wiggled his eyebrows, grinning like an idiot. There was something utterly captivating in this woman, but he couldn't understand what that was. Maybe his mother was right- perhaps the whole fun was in chase rather than easy victories.
"Ewww, absolutely not," Camilla turned her back to Zane and tried to leave. She didn't get far, the male grabbed her upper arm and pulled her into janitor's closet- locking the door.
She was trapped in a tiny room with the cockiest, most self-centered male in her school.
"There, there, no need to be rude. All I want to know is the reason why you didn't come to the party. I brought flowers and even went to your house to pick you up, but you weren't there. Is it so hard to take the invitation and arrive at the party? Come on, Cal, I want to be your damn friend, no need to be such a bitch," Zane sounded frustrated, his eyes glued on Camilla's body.
"Listen, I'm sorry, alright? But is that so hard to understand that I'm leaving? I appreciate the effort, but I don't want to gain friends and leave hours later, it's unfair. For seventeen years, I had one friend, nobody besides him noticed my existence. And now, you're throwing your friendship at me. The school golden boy, Alpha-to-be, all in all, perfect Zane Snow. How does this make any sense to you?" She grabbed the sides of her head, her back pressed against the wall. Camilla didn't want to look at Zane, that man could seduce any woman- even ones supposedly out of his league. Out of all things, she wanted- ending up in his bed was not one of those.
She had to resist his attempts to get closer to her.
"Yeah, there might be a problem with that leaving thing. I know that your friend occupied you yesterday; therefore, you had to move your plans aside, but that's not what I'm thinking about now," Zane grinned, stepping closer to Camilla. He placed both hands on the wall, caging her in like a prey.
Camilla opened her mouth, but someone knocked on the door and startled them both.
"Damn kids, get out of here! How often do I have to repeat that school is not your little fuckery playground," it was the school janitor, Mr. Michaels. He was a genuinely lovely person, Camilla had met him in the library for a couple of times. His family moved to the pack a year ago; since then, the man had been trying to provide a good life for his kids and wife.
"Don't even try to get your fucking snout into my business! Please go on, push my buttons, Michaels!" Zane growled, his eyes didn't leave Camilla's even for a second. The look on his face was one Camilla knew way too good- one of anger. Zane's breathing became ragged, his hands nearly shifting into claws.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know it was you here. I'll leave you guys," the man apologized and rushed away from the door. No matter how old the wolf was, all of them knew that Alpha's were rather short-tempered. Pissing off an Alpha was like signing their own death sentence.
"You didn't have to be such an asshole; he was doing his damn job! How fucking awful can you be? I get it; you're the big bad Alpha, we all get it! But it doesn't give you a right to act like everyone else is nothing but a speck of dirt under your feet. Prick!" Camilla growled at Zane. The possible consequences didn't cross her mind- she wanted to tell him off, to spit in his face all of her thoughts.
"Hot," Zane snarled and grabbed Camilla's face, bringing his lips closer to hers.
At first, she froze- confused about the male's actions, but regained her senses pretty quickly and tried to push him away. She didn't succeed since Zane was a lot stronger than she was.
Omega versus Alpha- even a fool would guess the outcome of their encounter.
His lips were soft and warm, the gentleness in his kiss nearly made Camilla feel like she had lost the foundation under her feet. She felt his hands- slowly sliding to her hips. Camilla gasped when Zane bit onto her lip, he used his chance and thrust his tongue into her mouth. The Alpha-to-be enjoyed the kiss more than he would ever admit. Camilla was a fighter, and it took him a long time to finally get a taste of her lips. Zane explored her mouth- a low growl formed in his chest as he grabbed onto her hips roughly, pushing his body against hers.
"Kiss me back, damn it!" Zane broke the kiss and snarled. He looked into Camilla's eyes, panting. He couldn't understand what had happened- the girl's eyes filled with tears.
Just a few minutes ago, she was fierce, talking back at him, and after he kissed her- she was crying?
"I hate you, that was my first kiss," Camilla whispered, pushing the words through gritted teeth.
"I guess I should be happy to be the one who took it. Another one to my collection, if I may," Zane smirked, acting like his usual self.
Truth to be told- something snapped in Zane; he did felt proud for being Camilla's first kiss. Most girls in the pack didn't care for such minor things, but she did. Oh boy, how much she did. She hung around one person, but the closest thing both had was friendly, rather awkward hugs. If she would be like girls, Zane hung around- she would have had her first kiss, first time, first everything.
"I was saving that one for my mate, you dumbass! Not like you understand what the fuck faithful person is anyway. Because of you, I'll get rejected now. I know that you're living in that perfect little bubble of yours, but apparently, you haven't seen how much females had been rejected after giving up on their firsts with drunk guys or you!" Camilla yelled at him, tears full-on streaming down her cheeks. She lifter her firsts to his chest and hit it until Zane finally stepped back.
She hoped that he would leave her alone, and he did. But not before splatting the most hurtful words she had ever heard.
"It's not like you're a fucking gift of Gods, honey. I would reject you on the spot, with or without that saved first kiss. I'm sure anyone else would follow the same pattern. Face it- you're unwanted," with that being said, Zane stormed out of the janitor's closet and slammed the door closed. Camilla sat there, crying out all of her hurt and waiting for the second bell to ring. When it did- she sneaked out of the school and headed back home- enough adventures for a day.
On her way home, she cursed the day when she ran into the young Alpha to be. This was his way of punishing her- an amazing way to destroy her life, and maybe the few things Camilla loved.
