3.

Angelo

"You need one!!"

"No."

"Yes."

"No!!"

"Life will be easier if you had one."

"Having one would be annoying and the invasion of my privacy."

"Really? That's your best excuse?"

"Oh shut up. Why do you have one and still be totally clueless most of the time"

"One time, Ange. One time."

We've been at it since the ending of our last project site visit. Apparently, my good friend took it upon himself to hire me a personal assistant.

I had enough people waiting on me hand and foot. I didn't need another person doing that, much less at work.

Brenda seems to be doing a great job in handling my calls and meetings. I don't see why I need my own.

"You can't have Brenda. She's my assistant and got much workload as it is." Josiah said breaking through my thoughts.

I narrowed my eyes at him as he stood before me with his hands on his hips. Sometimes, I swore he was a supernatural when he does that.

"You look like your mother when she found you making out with her friend's daughter."

"I didn't know she was my god-sister," he all but yelled throwing his hands up for dramatic effect. Such a drama king this one.

"J. I appreciate your concern but I don't need a P.A. I like my privacy. Dude, you know me, just talking to my own workers, took a lot out of me. I can't handle any more new people in my life. Thanks but no thanks" I explained walking to my office.

I hated to explain myself in ways that make me look weak but he needed to understand. Having people around me who needed to be in constant communication takes a strain on me mentally and my vocal cords.

"I understand Angelo but you can't hide behind your work for the rest of your life. From what I gathered from knowing you is that something terrible happened when you were younger but you're older now. The next stage in life. You coming here is one step and you did great buddy. Now it's time to take that next step."

He made a valid point but I wanted to make that step on my own not it being pushed on me so suddenly. Being at the office for a few days was a bit challenging but I've made it. A big difference from pack reviews and sentinel training but it will all be worth it in the end.

'We hope,' Lykos muttered.

"I'm sorry J. Put her somewhere else within the company if you like. I don't want her as my personal assistant," I said firmly as I went behind my desk to go through a few new clients.

He let out a tired sigh and sat on the leather couch across the room, I can feel his eyes on me as he began to hum some silly song.

"It won't work" I grumbled.

He was trying best to annoy me, it worked in the past but growing up with Micah and Rebecca. I was immune to that trick.

"Fine. You force me to do this," he said standing up while taking out his phone. I paid him no mind and continued my work.

"Hello, Mr. Saville. Sorry, sir. Michael" I heard him say with a laugh at the end. With the mention of my father's name, he got my attention.

"Yes, Angelo is fine. Being a bit stubborn though. I know right. I got him a P.A. and he's refusing her. Well if you can, I would surely appreciate it and my assistant would also."

Before I can register what he did, the phone was in front of my face.

"Your father wants to speak to you," he said with a smug smile.

"You're dead to me" I mouthed before taking the phone.

He simply threw himself on the sofa and got comfortable.

"Angelo, by the end of next week you should have an assistant employed at your office. You can't do everything alone, son. I'm so proud of you for coming out of your shell but don't you think to have this assistant may help you bid time for when you fully step out of this darkness you're in," my father said preamble.

I growled lowly into the phone knowing he was right. He was always right.

His deep laugh was my reply from him. I can just picture him now standing in his office looking out the window as he talks to me.

"Do you want your mother to hear of this?" he baited.

Groaning I repeatedly banged my head on the desk. If she found out, she would personally come to New York and hire the girl herself. They want what's best for me but they are pushing me out of my shell when I want to gradually step out.

"No dad," I answered.

"Good! great talking to you, son. Tell Josiah he should come visit us soon. Your mother would love to see him again" he said ending the call.

I looked up at my friend who was now wearing a shit-eating grin.

"Monday" was all I said.

"Should have called your father first. Have a great weekend brother" he all but sang as he left my home office.

'This is going to change a lot of things huh?' Lykos asked.

'Yup' I answered frowning at the thought of being close to someone in my personal workspace.

Unfortunately for Josiah, I didn't make it to the office on Monday as my day started with a problem at two sites, three overbearing clients who thought of a few changes in plans that were already sent out and a minor territorial problem between two packs.

To say I was disappointed in not meeting this girl on her first day I would be lying but I made sure that Brenda showed her the comings and goings.

Knowing my reputation would reach her ears I wasn't bothered that she may see me as a cold distant boss. That was good enough for me. She can stay in her bubble while I stay in mine.

The following day I arrived at my office building, Josiah was waiting patiently for me at the front desk. Workers were bustling about doing their work while he was just standing there waiting on me.

I raised an eyebrow at him as he gestured to the elevators. My men watched him carefully because he wasn't always this quiet. The elevator ride was silent. I can probably hear my men think, I used it for thinking over my day ahead. When we reached our floor, he stood on his side while I stood on mine.

"Do not call Brenda. No calls will be connected to me. You have an assistant now make good use of her" he said sternly.

I looked at him closely and saw he was dead set on this PA. His eyes were pleading with me to do this for him and I nodded in compliance.

"Thank you" was all he said before turning on his heel and headed straight to his office.

Walking around the corner, Lykos became tense and began to panic.

I was focused on calming him that I didn't notice someone now occupying my once empty receptionist desk until she spoke.

"Good morning, Mr. Saville. I'm Amelia Starkov, your personal assistant."

My body tensed as her voice washed over my body. Lykos stilled for a moment then began to fret. I didn't like this feeling as I stood in her presence.

It was hurting too much but I allowed my eyes to trail over the blonde-haired beauty standing beside the desk in a blue sleeveless dress, fitting her small waist and ample breast. It ended just above her knee.

Her legs were perfect and the heels she wore with that dress gave her the sex appeal I sure every man saw. Her hair was in curls and flowed freely to her shoulders what caught me off guard were her eyes.

Those big beautiful sky-blue eyes so much like.......

She began to twist her fingers as a nervous act. Her eyes were darting from me to my men every second I realized no one said nothing to her, not even an acknowledgment of the morning. I couldn't take it.

In haste, I turned from her and went into my office then darted to my private bathroom.

"Fuck!" I shouted. Lykos surfaced that's when I saw the pain, the memories of our Elise came back like a picture show.

"I'm sorry Elise I won't let them push you aside," I said to myself before I head back out into my office.

"Sir. Are you alright?" Jace asked.

"What is she?" I asked as I booted up my mac book going straight to Skype while logging into the security cameras out in the hallway.

"We don't know," he answered.

"What do you mean you don't know?" I snapped.

"She has the scent of a wolf but we haven't sense one present" Zhee my second sentinel answered.

"Her wolf may be dormant," I muttered to myself.

Before anyone of them can make a comment, a knock was sounded and in walked Ms. Amelia Starkov.

"Here are the files you asked to be handed to you today. A-also your m-meeting with Mr. James is in 20 minutes" she said.

While she spoke, I kept my eyes focused on the person who just answered my Skype call. My grip on my chair was tight as I brushed her off with the flick of my hand.

"Okay," she said under breath and rushed out the door.

**

"Angelo. Breathe. Come on. Breathe in. Breathe out. There you go" the voice of my brother said to me when the door was closed.

Following his instructions, I made Lykos do the same then I looked at him silently, I knew my eyes were glassy with tears but I fought to keep them from falling.

"I don't want her," I said shakily.

"I tried my best little brother to keep her away but Mother said I have no authority over this. I'm sorry" Caiden said tiredly.

I stayed quiet once more so did he.

"Boys Leave us" Caiden ordered my men.

"Yes, your majesty" they answered and left quickly.

As the door closed, the tears began to fall.

"Please Cay. I can't do this. I can't deal with seeing this woman every day. It would be like stabbing me repeatedly every day," I cried holding my head in my hands.

"What do you mean?"

"She's my new P.A," I mumbled.

"Who the fuck got you one of those?" he exploded he understood my situation better than anyone.

"J and dad. Cay, please talk to dad. I-I can't handle this." I cried once more.

"Don't worry little brother. I will take care of everything. Now go get some eye drops and keep Lykos under wraps till you're away from her. He might lose control and we both know it will be a definite mess."

I all but nodded afraid to talk, not trusting my voice.

Feeling my frustration with this situation I went over to my workbench and began to sketch without any plan in mind.

My thoughts were everywhere both past and present, I denied the second mate the moon goddess sent for me four years ago and now when I'm trying to step out, she sent another one with similar features of my Elise.

Was this a joke to her? Can't someone heal at their own time and pace?

'Not ready for her' Lykos whimpered.

'I know buddy. Neither am I' I said wistfully

**

"Mr. Saville? Mr. Saville?!"

That voice.

I was instantly brought back into reality. My head snapped to her direction. My hair falling out of its hold but I didn't bother to neaten it at the moment.

I raised my eyebrow in a way of questioning her why she was in my office.

"Your meeting sir? Mr. James?" she said raising her eyebrows too.

I said nothing to her. What was there to be said to a woman who has no idea that she may be a wolf and the mate of a wolf prince.

Quietly, I went to grab my client's blueprints and my phone then proceeded out of the office. I didn't want to stay in her presence. I may be tempted to reject her outright but I have to do this subtle.

Caiden would know what to. He always did.

**

My meeting with this client was added stress to me. He kept on changing the due date for the construction and kept on changing the plans. I had to be calm and show professionalism as I saw he was watching me pretty intently probably waiting for me to go off on him. He was just like other older clients willing for their businesses to be a hit but hate that a man in his 20's was the one whose name would put them on top. My designs were majestic as reported by every magazine article and my sister's interior designs were a bonus.

"Is there anything else Mr. James? Please note this will be the last time I make these changes to the hotel remember our time frame." I said quietly.

The day just began and I needed to take a run; Lykos needed to let loose.

'Find a place for me to release my wolf before lunch' I said to Jace before rolling back up my plans.

'Yes, your majesty' he replied.

"No more changes Mr. Saville. Thank you for accommodating these changes, it's our third hotel and I'm a bit nervous," he said while standing up.

I nodded in response and waited for him to leave the meeting room but he stood before me with his arrogant stance.

He wanted to say something to me which I know would be snide but I cut him off beforehand.

"Sorry for leaving but I do have other meetings. Thank you for coming" I said softly before leaving him standing in the middle of the room.

I was met by the elevators by Zhee, 'A pack in Brentwood has extended their service to us, sir. Their Alpha has given us free use of their grounds. When you're ready the helicopter will be waiting'

"Thank you" I whispered still thinking about this assistant of mine.

I dreaded going back to my office but I had to.

Walking past her desk, I caught her scent lilies and strawberries, growling lowly I stalked into my office and began to pace the room. Her scent was killing me I don't think both of us can hold out anymore.

My suit was getting so uncomfortable and Lykos wanted out, getting rid of my tie and jacket didn't help.

"Your majesty," Zhee said hastily coming to my side.

When I looked at him his expression on his face told me everything I knew already. Lykos was surfacing he was overpowering me slowly. He needed to be let out.

"The men are here." As on cue, I sensed three other sentinels in the room.

I growled in warning telling them how close my wolf was. Jace came to my other side as someone opened the door for us to leave. They were quick to hide me as we passed Amelia.

"Hold all calls for Mr. Saville." was all Zhee said to Amelia.

"Yes sir" she called out.

Why does her voice have to affect me so?

Quickly, we made it to the stairs to the roof. I couldn't get control on Lykos any longer I had to shift. Thank goddess only wolves were my close staff.

They stood protectively as I circled the roof in wolf form snarling in frustration.

"Whenever you are ready your majesty," Jace said with concern laced in his voice.

I bounded up into the helicopter, which had a lot of floor space for three wolves and seating for six persons. This was the reason I invested in this type of helicopter. Being in the city can stress us out and finding running grounds was essential.

We all stayed quiet as we flew over the city towards Brentwood. As we were near, I can smell the pack's territory.

This was the first time in this territory since I came to New York. They haven't brought any issues to me so it seems they were a secluded pack or they were living among humans.

I couldn't wait for them to land and quickly jumped down to the inviting greens as soon as we were two feet above the ground.

Four men were standing by the sidelines and as they saw me, they quickly went to their knees I barked in acknowledgment to them and let Lykos take over.

Both of our thoughts were on the same track as we ran. What are we going to do with our new mate?
