Chapter 6
"Morgan, I forgot to tell you that your cousin Alexis is coming over for a few days. She is coming today- she should be here by this afternoon so if you don't have any plans to go out today that would be great." Dad said to me as he was fixing his tie while getting ready for work.
"Seriously Dad, you know I can't stand that girl. Why would you even agree to having her over when you know we dont get along?" I groaned. "I am not in the mood to deal with or babysit a bratty 16-year-old with a bad attitude problem."
"She is not that bad Morgan." Dad chuckled.
"That is because you haven't spent much time with her," I said to him "She is not bothering you every second or taking your stuff all the time so you wouldn't know. Lexi is a brat; she is your niece Dad but you don't know her as much as I do. She is rude, disrespectful, stubborn and has a ton of attitude. Whenever she's around you she acts as if she's a total saint but that girl is Satan's span."
"Alright Morgan, now I think you are really exaggerating." Dad said to me.
"Exaggerating? You don't know Lexi well. Do you know that she only enjoys staying over here because you or mom does not impose as much strict rules on her like uncle Marvin and Thelma does?" I said to him. "And she's coming over here because she likes Travis from next door. I hope you and mom seriously plans to be here every night keeping an eye on her because like I said, Im not babysitting her."
"Don’t pretend that you weren't a teenager once and also have crushes." Dad said to me with a chuckle.
"Dad I was a teenager too but I was never a wild one. And I was certainly not a brat like the teens these days. I really can't deal with them.”
"How are you going to handle them when you become a high school teacher then?" Dad asked me. "You're going to have hundreds of them to deal with on a daily basis you know that right?"
*Good point Dad.
"Well maybe I should definitely reconsider and change my course this term then." I joked.
"Too late for that now isn't it? You're more than halfway there." Dad smiled. "Speaking of which, I sent the first half of the money for the first semester of this school year into your account. Tomorrow I'll give you your allowance, Marvin owed me some money that he's sending it with Lexi."
"Dad, thanks but you don't have to give me any allowance anymore. I told you that it is okay." I said to him.
I felt bad that he was already doing everything for me by himself and also giving me pocket money. It was instances like this where I thought about Kim's idea- finding a guy that was willing to help me out financially, but my main issue is knowing that having a sugar daddy comes with a small price to pay. One price that I'm not entirely sure I would ever be ready or willing to pay. So my main question is, was it possible to find a sugar daddy that wanted no sugar?
"Sweetheart, you lost your job and you're a young adult you must have little needs and wants."
"Dad, I told you that I am fine. I don't have much things that I need anyway. Don't worry about it you're already doing so much already." I said to him.
"Morgan, you're my daughter. You re still my responsibility. I'm supposed to support you as long as I can and as long as you need it." Dad said to me "When I get old and cranky then it'll be your turn to help in supporting your old man."
"You're totally right Dad," I chuckled "And as long as I am successful, you and mom will be my main priorities...Well that is until I have my own family and have to kick you guys out to a retirement home and then adopt two puppies."
"Morgan that is cruel." Dad laughed. "I'm really hurt that you would actually throw me out like that for two puppies."
"You know I'm only kidding Dad, I'd make sure you and mom got the best care and treatment ever." I said to him with a smile. "You wouldn't be short or in need of anything."
"I know you would take good care of us honey. Look I have to head out now, so I will see you later when I get off work." Dad said to me. "Oh and remember to look out for Alexis."
"Hey Morgan! You don't wear this anymore do you? It looks a bit small for you now." Lexi asked as I entered my room.
"Why the hell are you going through my stuff!? Alexis get the hell away from my closet!" I yelled stomping over to her and dragging the dress from her and putting it back in my closet.
"You just got here like ten minutes ago and you're already being a nuisance and touching things that doesn't belong to you."
"I was just looking at your clothes..."
"I didn't give you the permission to go through my stuff so get out of my room and do not touch my stuff alright?" I said to her.
"Gosh Morgan, don't be so overdramatic. I was only looking; it is not like I took anything." she said backing away after rolling her eyes.
"Not yet. You haven't taken anything as yet. Every single time you came over here something of mine goes missing and I swear to God Lexi if you take anything else for me this time, I'm coming over to uncle Marvin's and I'm going strangle you. I'm not kidding Alexis, do not mess with my stuff."
"You make it sound like I am a thief or something." Alexis chuckled sitting down at my vanity table.
"You are a thief if you keep taking my things without me giving them to you...Hey! What did I just say about touching my things!" I went over to her taking my necklace from her hand and putting it back in the box before pulling her up by her arm from the seat then pulling her to the door. "Get up, I don't want you anywhere near my room again. Got it?"
"Oww! Alright, alright fine!" Lexi pulled out of my grip as she reached the door way. "Geez, you don't have to be so aggressive or manhandle me, stay out of Morgan's room got it. So what am I supposed to do for fun around here?"
"I don't know Lexi and frankly I don't care. Go watch TV or something, I am not your entertainer."
"Are you always this dense or is it just with me?" Lexi asked.
"Maybe it is just you." I said walking away.
"I'll probably just go spend the rest of the evening next door with Travis anyway, Im sure he'll enjoy my company." Lexi called out.
"Yeah whatever, you can go make a baby or catch an STI or something. Lexi I don't care what you want to do okay?"
"Seriously? You know what I don't get... We're cousins, you're the only cousin I have that closer to my age since Jarden is only 6 months. And I look up to you and always try to fit in with you, I've even always try to be mature since I figured you'd just see me as an annoying kid, yet you just always seem to be such a ...." Lexi trailed off and stopped following me.
"No, don't stop. Say it." I stopped as well and turned to face her "I seem to be such a what?"
"A bitch!" Lexi responded.
"That is because it takes a bitch to know a bitch Lexi." I said to her. "Maybe if you weren't so much of a bitch yourself I wouldn't need to act like one with you."
"I don't even know why I even bother trying to be close with you anyway. I've tried everything to get your attention and you just don't seem to like me even though we're supposed to be blood." Lexi said to me. "I usually don't care what people think of me but I'm curious, why do you hate me so much Morgan?"
That was the first time I've ever heard Alexis spoke like that or asked me this question. I also had no idea she felt this way, I just always thought she was a spoiled brat who always got on my nerves. I never thought that she was like that because she was trying to get my attention, now I know why she always wanted to come over and why she pests me so much.
"Lexi, I don't hate you okay? You're my little cousin so I couldn't hate you but I hate your attitude and certain ways that you have. And I definitely hate it when you mess around with my stuff." I said to her.
“I don't do well with things like those and you can be an annoying brat sometime. If you cut some of your attitude and know your boundaries with me then we can be like the best of friends but once you screw up, you and I are going to have an issue. And I'm adult, I may be only 6 years older than you but I'm still an adult for you so I won't take your disrespectful crap."
"Hi Kim," Alexis greeted Kim smiling as she came down the stairs. "What's up?"
"Alexis, hi. It is nice seeing you again. I'm great though, how about you?" Kim responded.
"Same, I'm good too. I'm just going to get a drink in the kitchen." Alexis smiled before passing us in the living room on her way to the kitchen.
"Alright, that was weird. Was she just nice to me with absolutely no attitude?" Kim asked looking at Alexis who had just passed us.
"I believe she was." I replied to Kim.
"Okay, who is that and what has she does with your cousin? Because that girl is not the Alexis I know." Kim said to me. "What's gotten into her? Usually she wouldve have passed without saying a word or she would have exhibit some rude disrespectful attitude."
"We had a little talk yesterday after she got here and I'm not sure but I think I may have gotten through to her. I'm just hoping I did and she'll finally drop her nasty ways once and for all." I said to Kim.
"Oh wow, I'm actually impressed." Kim responded. "Let's hope that she is really trying to change now and not just humoring you."
"I know right. But if she goes against anything I said to her during our talk yesterday, I'll crucify her." I said to Kim.
"Don't worry, I'll definitely help." Kim replied causing both of us to laugh.
"Anyway, you said you were going to show me the next guy I'm supposed to have a date with?" I said to Kim drawing back her attention to our previous conversation before Alexis came down.
"Oh yeah, I'm absolutely positive you're going to want to go out with this one." Kim said to me logging into the site with the laptop.
"I'd better, because I really wasn't going to agree to another one of these dates and now that I've agreed to one last one, it better be worthwhile." I said to her. "And Kim if this one doesn't work out like the others, I am seriously done. I want you to delete that account and just forget about this whole thing alright?"
"Okay I promise I will but you still have to be positive about this one. This guy is just so so gorgeous and everything...Morgan he is super-hot and he is a doctor. The truth is, if I hadn't already met Cory before and I met this guy, I would definitely go after him. Here, take a look at his profile." Kim said turning the laptop screen so that I could see it.
"Omg." was my only response. I was literally starstruck.
"I told you. I know right?" Kim chuckled. He is gorgeous.
"What is this guy doing on a site called sugar daddy club? He seriously can't be more than thirty something... Wait, his profile said that he is 40. Wow that is actually the youngest person that has ever contacted me right? Kim, this guy looks too good to be true." I said to her as I continued looking at his profile. "You remembered the last cute guy I went to meet what happened? He turned out to be a 70+years old grandpa with the profile photos of some internet model. I got cat-fished."
"I know but this guy right here, looks authentic." Kim said to me.
"Kim, they all look authentic to you." I said to her.
"That's not true. I have a keen eye for authentic guys." Kim said to me.
"Yeah? Like that authentic 70-year-old?"
"Have you read the guy's profile? He sounds really smart and real and his pictures doesn't seem like something taken off an internet page." Kim said to me. "Besides, the only way you're going to know if he is real or not is if you don't back out on that date tomorrow night."
"I already told you that I'm going Kim. I told you that this was the last date I'm agreeing to go on and after this one, I'm out." I said to her. "I'm not backing out just yet alright?"
"Great, because I have this amazing dress that I would want you to wear. Bought it for myself online but it's not my fit. I think it'll be yours."
