Chapter 8

It has been two weeks since my first date with Sean and we've been in contact ever since. The second that I had reached home that Saturday night, Sean texted me to find out if I had made it home safely.

Since then, whenever he wasn't busy he would send me little text messages checking up on me and stuff. After a few simple and innocent little texts, I noticed that our texts conversations have started getting a bit flirty. I know that I only knew Sean for three weeks in total and we've only met in person and been out once, but I didn't exactly find it strange that we were already flirting with each other.

We were getting to know each other and our text messages were flirty but still innocent. We then made plans to go out again this weekend and I was actually looking forward to that. It was so weird to think about how I didn't want to go on another date after the others failed and now I think I may like Sean enough to give him a second chance. So far he was just so sweet, respectful and humble, it was a bit hard to believe that this guy was for real. I was attracted to Sean, and this attraction is what encouraged me to continue texting him.

‘Hey Morgan, what are you doing? –S’

I read the text that came in on my phone and smiled before replying.

*‘Hi Sean, how is it going? I'm here being pampered by my best friend. She is giving me a pedicure and let me tell you, she's a goddess when it comes to these things.-M

*‘She sounds awesome. I'd love to meet her one day. So is she like a cosmetologist or something? –S’ Sean sent back.

*‘No the girl watched like two YouTube videos and swears she is an expert now 😁😁 So I just let her but I won't lie, she is pretty good at this. My toenails are already looking like the bomb. –M’

*‘Lol that's funny. You mind letting me see her work? -S’

*‘Sure :) –M’

"Kim wait a second let me take a picture of my feet." I said to her as she finished one foot.

*‘This is what she's done so far. –M’ I sent back a picture to Sean.

*‘Wow, she is good. Your feet look really prettyand no I dont have a foot fetish... She should become a professional, she seems pretty talented, she'd make a lot of money- S’

*‘I think so too. Maybe teacher's college is the wrong path for her. But when she becomes a teacher she could definitely open her own nail shop and operate on Weekends-M’

*‘Certainly-S’

"Who are you texting so much?" Kim grinned at me as she worked on my other foot.

"Someone," I said to her holding back a smile.

"Is it Doctor Mercier?" Kim teased.

"Maybe." I smiled at her. "I just showed him your work, he thinks you're pretty talented at this and should start your own business."

"Maybe one day I will but for now I'll just continue practicing my skills on you." Kim chuckled. "Where is he by the way? Isn't he supposed to be working?"

"I don't know, he should be at work. I'll ask." I said to her as I texted Sean.

*'So what are you doing now? Aren't you to work? –M’

*‘I am at work but I just took a little lunch break. Can't be attending to patients only all day and not myself as well. I've got to take a little break too or else my brain may become too tired and confuse and I could administer a wrong medication or something. –S’

*‘I totally get what you're saying. Wouldn't want that to happen, I was just curious though since you were texting. -M

*'Well that is because I've got a little free time on my hands. –S’

Sean sent back a response before my phone start vibrating nonstop with incoming messages

"Oh my God Sean, you cannot do things like this to me." I said out loud as I looked at the pictures he just sent me.

"Can't do what? What did he do?" Kim asked curiously.

"He just sent me a couple selfies of himself at work." I said showing her my phone. "Seriously how can one guy be that handsome?"

"Damn... Morgan I think I may be coming down with something, I may need to see a doctor." Kim swoon causing me to laugh. "Girl, he is so hot. You have to go out with him again, don't you dare end things with this guy before it even started okay?"

"Relax Kim," I chuckled. "And if it makes you feel any better we're actually planning to go out again."

"When?" Kim asked me excitedly.

"This Saturday night." I said to her.

"Awesome. That gives us enough time to think about your next date outfit and fix your nails and stuff," Kim grinned. "Hurry up and finished texting him because I'm going to have to try doing your fingers next. You need to look even better and hotter than the first date."

"Kim you are a bit crack in the head you know that? No offence." I chuckled.

"None taken. We've already established that fact years ago, now its time to make sure that Doctor Mercier falls desperately for you the next time he sees you."

I was going on another date tonight with Sean. I had given him my address in order for him to come pick me up. Kim of course was staying over and also came from early this afternoon just so that she could make sure I looked breathtaking enough. However, I knew that was not all. She was dying to meet Sean when he stopped by.

Sean had told me that he would be here by 6:00pm since we were going to a gallery opening at 7:00pm and it would take almost 30 minutes to drive back there. It was now 5:47pm and I wasn't quite ready yet so I was rushing.

"What are you doing with your hair, is that how you're wearing it?" Kim asked as I pulled on my dress.

"Why? Does it look bad?" I asked as I turned around for her to help zip my dress up.

"No, but it needs a little brushing." Kim said to me as she zipped me up and went to get my hairbrush.

"How is it that I can never be ready in time for anything?" I said to her as she helped fixed my hair.

"That is because we tend to wait until the last minute to start getting ready."

"I seriously need to change that attitude." I said while trying to slip on my shoes as Kim brushed my hair.

"Do you want me to do your makeup or..."

Kim's question was cut short by the doorbell ringing downstairs.

"I'm afraid there won't be enough time for that. Oh my God, he is early and I'm... I'm not ready. Kim please go get the door. I'll be right there; I just have to add a few finishing touches." I said pushing her towards my door.

"You're freaking out." she laughed.

"Go... And please try to keep him away from mom if possible. I am not ready for her inquiries just yet."

"Okay fine, I'm going. I'm finally getting a chance to meet the hot doctor," Kim grinned walking out my door. "You hurry up, I'll get it!"

Sean was ten minutes early. It was a quality I tend to admire in people- when they are always on time. I was already dressed and my hair was fixed, so I quickly put some mascara on my eyelashes and added some pink lip-gloss to my lips before grabbing my stuff and heading downstairs.

"Hey," I greeted Sean with a smile as I met them downstairs. "Sorry I'm late."

"Hi, wow, you look really beautiful." Sean smiled looking me up.

"Thank you." I literally blushed.

"My pleasure and don't worry, you're not late. I'm actually a bit early. Your friend Kimberley here was being a perfect host so far." Sean responded before stretching a red rose to me. "This is for you. I wanted to buy two dozen of them but I was afraid you'd find me weird and I didn't want to creep you out, so I brought just a single one."

*Omg, he brought me a rose? No one ever brought me rose before.

"Thank you, that's really sweet Sean." I smiled taking the rose from him. "I love it."

'He is definitely a keeper.' Kim mouthed beside him.

"So are you ready to go now?" Sean asked me.

"Yeah." I nodded with a smile. I am.

"It was nice meeting you Kim, looking forward to seeing you another time." Sean said to her stretching his hand out for a handshake.

"You too Sean," Kim smiled as she shook his hand. "Have a good time you guys."

"Thanks, we will."

Sean and I had reached the gallery approximately 10 minutes early but when everything started opening and we began looking at the artworks. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The artists who created the artworks were very talented, it was amazing how they seem to create a masterpiece and bring the artworks to life with the different color paints.

Each work had their own story. Some of the paintings I couldn't quite tell what it was or what it meant but Sean was able to explain it quite well. It was amazing how he seemed like an expert himself. I don't think I've ever appreciated the creativeness of these artists until now.

There were even two specific paintings that I definitely fell in love with. One was a painting of a lake with some beautiful flowers and two swans in the water, while the other one was a beautiful scenery with a house near another lake along with a breathtaking waterfall by some beautiful flowers. The paintings were amazing and seemed so real that I knew that I was definitely an art lover after tonight.

After being at the gallery for a while, I soon learned that one of Sean's best friend was one of the artists whose paintings were also being featured tonight.

"How did this old guy right here get so lucky to have such a beautiful woman like you accompanying him here tonight?" Sean's friend Jeffrey who was one of the artist said to me as Sean introduced us.

"I don't know; I guess he's an awesome guy as well so I decided that he is worth a chance." I responded as I looked at Sean with a smile.

"Really? She thinks you're awesome? Sean have you been brain washing her into thinking that?"  Jeffrey teased.

"I don't have to brainwash her Jeff, Morgan knows that I'm a nice guy—unlike you." Sean joked back.

Sean, Jeffrey and I talked and joked around some more before Sean and I decided to leave. Since we didn't have anything to eat before going to the gallery, Sean insisted on taking me to get something to eat. He said that wine and the small hor d'oeuvres that were at the gallery doesn't count as food.

"What are you in the mood for?" Sean asked as we got in the car.

"I'm not sure, but weirdly, I'm in the mood for a cheeseburger or a seafood dish." I said to him. "What about you? What are you in the mood for?"

"Anything, I'll go with whatever you want. You decide."  Sean said to me.

"No, it's up to you. I wouldn't want you to go get something you don't really want just because of me." I said to him "You choose, wherever you decide to take me I'll be absolutely cool with it."

"Morgan come on," Sean chuckled. "What do you want? Do you want to go to a restaurant or something?"

"I told you, I feel for maybe a burger or seafood but if you wait on me to come up with a final decision on what I want exactly, we're going to be here for a while." I said to him with a shrug. "You're just going to have to make the final decision on this one."

"Alright, I think I know a great place then." Sean smiled as he drove off.

Sean took us to a little seafood restaurant near a pier and the funniest thing was that they also served burgers there- well more like sandwiches though and everything was of seafood.

Apparently Sean decided that seafood would be a much better and healthier choice because burgers and all those fatty and oily fried food can cause high cholesterol and heart disease. While fish and seafood has a lot of protein and omega 3 that is good for you.

I almost forgot that he was a doctor and that at some point that part of him was going to come out, not that I had a problem with that though, I still got my seafood.

After we had finished eating Sean and I went for a little walk on the pier. We were talking about a whole lot of stuff and getting to know more about each other and each other lives. After a while I started logging between as my feet had started to hurt since I've been wearing these heels for hours and have been on my feet for most of the night –except for the few minutes in the car and at the restaurant.

"Hey, are you alright?" Sean asked after he noticed that I stopped walking. "What's wrong?"

"I'm fine, its just that my feet are a little tired. They're starting to hurt." I said to him.

"Why didnt you say anything before? Come on, maybe we should get you back to the car then." Sean insisted.

"Maybe that is a good idea." I agreed as I started walking before wincing and stopping again. "Oww, these shoes aren't very practical for walking too long."

"Heels like that aren't practical to wear period Morgan. Sure they're pretty but I'm pretty sure they're not very comfortable. You should take them off." Sean said to me.

"That's exactly what I planned on doing," I responded as I leaned on a railing to take them off then sighing in relief. "Omg, being barefooted never felt this good."

"Here, get on my back." Sean offered as he slightly bent in front of me. Ill carry you.

"What? No, its fine. I can still walk, it is better now that I've taken them off." I said shaking my head at his request.

"And what kind of man would I be if I allow you to walk barefooted all the way back? Come on." Sean reached back pulling me unto his back and rising with me which resulted in me holding on to him tight.

"Sean are you crazy? You can't carry me." I chuckled still in disbelief as he started walking with me on his back.

"In case you're not aware Morgan, that's exactly what I'm doing now."
