Chapter 3

(Natalia POV)

“She had had a vison elder, one of her future.” I had called the elder o update him on what I had learned about the White Wolf. “She wants to meet with you.”

“What is her current condition?” The elder asks.

“She is cleared of any physical injuries. Her neural readings were abnormal though. She possesses several extra brain waves. She says it is because she posses the spirits of the white wolves of the past. How is that possible?” I had never heard of such a thing.

“That is unusual. I agree, she should come here. When can you guys leave?” The elder seemed determined, but would the young alpha let her go?

“She is cleared to leave later today.” I tell him.

“Very well, come tomorrow.” He said and quickly ending the call.

The young alpha had only just met his mate, will he be willing to part with her so soon? It seemed like there was no room to question the elder’s choice, so I needed to convince her to come with me. The doctor and I had given them some time alone, but I needed to speak with them as soon as possible. When I got near to the room I could here soft laughs and talking, that made me smile as well. They seemed to be connecting well. I was happy to see Owen had found his mate. He had been hoping for so long, and his disappointment was easily felt by the rest of the pack.

I knocked on the door and waited for the ok to enter.

“Excuse me young alpha, I have to speak to Miss Amelia.” I say entering.

Amelia gives me a soft smile. “Sure, what’s wrong?”

I looked to Owen and then back to her. “Is it ok to speak openly?”

Amelia looked to Owen and turned to me with a nod. “Yes, anything you need to say, you can say it in front of Owen.”

With that I began to explain what the elder had requested.

“You want her to leave tomorrow? So soon?” Owen asked looking heart broken.

“The elder wishes to see her as soon as possible. His visions have changed, and he feels uneasy.” I tell him.

The betrayed look he had given me when he found out that I had been sent to await the arrival of his mate had passed by now, but I could tell he was a little unhappy. In a sense I had lied about the reason I had come here, and that was not something easy to forget. His trust in me would no doubt be affected.

“I’m sorry Owen. I know we just met, but I need to go.” Amelia says to Owen.

He rubs his hands over his face and let out a groan that sounded like he was frustrated by the situation.

“She will be safe young Alpha, I promise.” I try to reassure him.

“No. I will keep her safe. I am coming with you!” He says firmly.

“What? Owen I don’t know if that is a good idea.” Amelia says. “You have responsibilities here.”

Even though she seemed to not take him away from his pack, there was something in her voice that made her sound hopeful that he would come.

“I know we don’t know each other well enough for us to go away together, but this could be dangerous, and I don’t want you to be alone.” He insists.

“I can ask my brother and his mate to come with me!” Amelia offers.

“Brother?” He asks.

“Oh, sorry I forgot to mention this, but my brother Liam and his mate Olivia are in this pack.” Amelia said.

“Liam? Liam is your brother?” Owen let out a laugh. “What a small world. We are actually really good friends.”

“I know!” Amelia says happily.

“So, you really don’t want me to come with you?” Owen asks pulling out his best sad face which worked on Amelia immediately.

She sighed in defeat and agreed to let him come.

“The elder hopes we can arrive tomorrow.” I let them know. “I will make all the arrangements and let you know when our flight leaves.”

I leave them alone again and head to my desk to begin Amelia’s discharge papers. The doctor wanted to run more tests on her again especially because of the irregular brain activity, but that would wait.

(Amelia POV)

“Owen, are you sure about this? You probably have more important things you need to do. I know we are mates, but I don’t expect anything from you. This all was a lot for you to take in already, and it is going to get more complicated.” I wanted Owen with me, but to him we had only just met.

He still knew very little about me, and I did not want to overwhelm him with the complete crazy that was my life right now.

“Amelia, I want to go with you. This is who you are! A very special woman, and I want to know as much as I can about everything you have to deal with now and later. We are in this together now, and there is no way you will get rid of me that easy!” Owen said with a smirk.

He really is too good for me, but I was glad that he reminded me how perfect for each other we were. Also, if he was with me, then he would be safe too. Because if his father had been following his plans like he had in my vision, the safest place for Owen was away from the pack. That was a battle that would have to wait to be fought. My hope was that if anything, the Elder can help me go through the emergence smoothly sooner rather than later.

“I can take you to your apartment as soon as you are discharged so you can pack. I’ll drop you off and come back with Natalia once we are ready to go. I am guessing form the urgency she was showing, she will want to leave tonight.” Owen said standing and making his way to the door.

Once he was gone I laid back on the bed and let out a deep breath. I was glad to be able to visit the elder so soon, but what had he seen in his visions? Were they the same as mine? Could he have seen the point where things changed and caused my death?

One thing had remained the same. I had a million questions and finding answers seemed to lead me to the elder’s door. He was a common thread so far. Maybe it was because he was a seer, or it could be his knowledge of the white wolf. I couldn’t be sure, but I needed his help. If I was going to change the future I needed every advantage I could get, and that meant I needed to emerge now.

The white wolf was my only chance at fixing everything, and that side of me seemed eager as well. Especially when I walked toward the bathroom and my reflection included the eyes of the white wolf looking back at me.

The sight made me gasp and I walked forward into the dark room to see them closer. They shinned and I felt a cold chill run down my spine when a second later my eyes were normal again. I needed help soon because time was something I didn’t have enough of. I leaned forward gripping the edge of the sink and steady my racing heart.

“Hey! So, I have all your paperwork if you are ready to go!” Owen said walking into my room again.

I wasn’t ready for him to see this side of me yet, so I checked myself once more before leaving the bathroom.

“Ok, I’ll just get dressed and then we can go.” I reply looking around the room or my clothes.

“Oh, I’m really sorry but your clothes were cut off when you came. But I brought you some clothes to wear, donated by Natalia. Not sure if they are your style, but I didn’t think you would want to sport my over sized clothes instead.” Owen said handing me the clothes.

“I would never say no to wearing anything that is yours but since I will be out n public, something more my size is probably better.” I took the clothes and turned around to head back to the bathroom until it hit me what I had said.

I turned on my heels to look at Owen with modification.

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to say that!” I said quickly.

He looked a little surprised by my straightforwardness but not angry. He laughed and waved me off.

“Don’t worry! I will remember that though.” He teased.

I laughed in embarrassment and ran to the bathroom. I really needed to remember we had just met! This was going to be hard!
