03. "You are mine."

'Where is my mate? You said we were going to see her!' Kalmin’s wolf whined in anger, growing impatient, the longer he had to wait to see Nuri again. The last time he’d caught a glimpse of her, was after they’d chased her home a few days before, and she’d managed to slam the door closed before they could catch her.

"We are going to see her, calm down. When did you become so soft and impatient? We did not become the alpha by whining. Before we met that blasted hybrid, we were fearless and tyrannical, what's this new side of you?" Kalmin said, internally shaking his head at the wolf inside of him. ‘If this is how he will act now that we’ve found our mate, maybe it’s better that I keep my distance.’ Kalmin thought as he watched out of the rearview mirror, groaning when he saw that Nuri was still nowhere to be seen. “I’m not waiting in this hot car any longer.” He said as he stepped out of the car, then walked up the walkway to the front door.

'Nuri is our mate. She deserves a side of us that no other will ever see.' His wolf responded with what sounded to Kalmin like an annoyed sigh. Kalmin rolled his eyes and knocked on the front door, which was opened only seconds later by the human Williamson, Nuri’s mother.

'How did such an ugly woman make such a beautiful daughter?' Kalmin's wolf growled, making Kalmin chuckle softly, as he agreed with his wolf's assessment of the woman. She was short, somewhere around 5'3, with short dark-brown hair, and eyes to match. She was plump, which wasn't the reason she was ugly, but her astounding lack of personal hygiene was to blame for that. Even worse than being married to an omega, she was a human. Although wolf and human relationships were not forbidden, they were severely frowned upon. Before mating with the human, Nuri's father was considered a respected member of the pack, and Kalmin could never understand why he would throw away power and respect for a human, while there were dozens of beautiful wolves he could have picked.

"Alpha? Oh my, please, come in." Nuri’s mother gasped, her eyes widening in shock and confusion when she realized who the man was. She didn't know why the alpha was darkening her doorway, but she knew better than to leave him on the doorstep. "Alvin, the alpha is here, come downstairs." The woman called over her shoulder as she stepped back to make room for Kalmin to cross the threshold.

"What do you mean the alpha is here? Don't be absurd, Bella." Alvin called back in an amused tone as he walked down the stairs, swallowing his next words when his eyes landed on Kalmin, stunning him to silence.

"Hello, Williamsons," Kalmin said, trying to hold back his growl when he saw the omega, who was as good as scum, where the pack was concerned. ‘How a worthless omega, and a human, made my mate, I will never understand.' Kalmin thought, then followed the two into the living room where they ushered him to sit in a worn down beige colored armchair.

"Can I get you anything to drink? Water, or coffee?” Bella asked, then laughed softly before adding; “whiskey?"

"Coffee, if you please," Kalmin responded without looking at her, keeping his eyes trained on Alvin, waiting until his wife left the room, before speaking. "Where is Nuri? It's nearly four, shouldn't she be home from school now?"

"Huh? Nuri? She's usually home just after four, as school lets out at Three forty-five, and she walks home." Alvin responded curiously, looking down at his watch, then back at Kalmin, furrowing his brows. 'What does the alpha want with Nuri?’ Alvin thought, willing the sour taste in his mouth to dissipate as scenarios began to flood his mind. ‘I always knew that attitude of hers would get her in trouble, but I didn’t think it could be so serious to warrant a visit from the alpha.’

"Very well, then. I will wait until she returns." Kalmin responded, stifling his growl at the thought of spending the next fifteen minutes with these omegas. "Thank you," he said as Bella returned, handing him a cup of fresh coffee, and watching her as she sat and began meticulously straightening her already straight skirt, too afraid of speaking or looking up to meet Kalmin's gaze.

"Alpha, I apologize if this is out of line, but what did Nuri do to attract your attention?" Bella finally asked timidly, keeping her eyes trained on the ground, too afraid of what would happen if she made eye contact with the alpha.

"She did nothing wrong, but I will be taking her," Kalmin responded, reveling in the sight of her parent's shock and horror, letting it go on for a few minutes before he said anything more. "She will stay with me, and you may not have any further contact with her. Am I understood?"

"I-... What?" Alvin stuttered out, blinking a few times as if that would help him understand better, but much to his chagrin, it didn't. "Why?"

"Are you questioning your alpha?" Kalmin asked him, raising an eyebrow at the man, then narrowing his eyes as he waited for his response. 'This omega isn't as worthless as I thought. At least he has the grit to look into my eyes while he questions me.' Kalmin thought as he stared into Alvin's eyes with the same intensity, unwavering, to show him that he was serious.

"No, Sir. I'm questioning the man that came into my house and demanded to take my daughter from me." He said, then immediately flinched, and returned his gaze to Kalmin's feet, where he, as an omega, was expected to look.

'This is where Nuri got her strength from, then? Respectable, but foolish. If he wasn't an omega, I might be tempted to admire him. Though, I must remember that he was not always an omega.' Kalmin thought. "She is my mate, and she will be taking her rightful place as such." He finally told them, resulting in them both gasping out in shock, trading glances with each other, before looking at Kalmin. It was clear to Kalmin that they thought he must have been mistaken, for could an omega hybrid be the alphas mate?

"Forgive me, alpha, but are you sure?" Alvin asked, shaking his head softly.

"Quite certain, omega. Ask your human to pack her things if you would? We've things to discuss, and I will not be discussing them in the presence of a human." Kalmin said, keeping his eyes locked on Alvin, but watching out of the corner of his eye as Bella stood, and quickly went upstairs. he could hear her moving things about from above him, and knew she was doing as he'd asked.

"Alpha?" Alvin asked after a few moments, taking a hesitant sip of his coffee, as he waited for what Kalmin wanted to speak to him about.

"Your daughter, she is a senior?"

"Yes, Sir. She's to graduate at the top of her class in just a few months." Alvin responded, his light blue eyes lighting up with pride the moment the conversation turned to Nuri.

"And her form?" Kalmin asked, watching the reaction on Alvin's face as he spoke, as he wanted to make sure he wouldn't lie, for the sake of his daughter.

"She has a beautiful form, Alpha, truly. A tad smaller in size than other females, but she more than makes up for it with her speed and agility."

"She's a small girl, it makes sense that her form is on the smaller side, I suppose." Kalmin agreed with a nod, then turned his head to the sound of the front door opening, his wolf gasping happily, as it had to have been Nuri. The moment his eyes landed on her, he jumped up with a snarl, when he saw she’d entered the house with another man. The man was about 5'11, with short red hair, and bright green eyes. Kalmin knew he'd seen the man somewhere before, but he couldn't recall where.

'Our mate is with another man? NO! Kill him, Kalmin.’ Kalmin's wolf growled in a hurt and angered tone, the whimper in his voice overpowering everything else he was feeling.

‘Steel yourself. Don’t be so reactive.’ Kalmin responded, keeping his eyes trained on the man who stood beside Nuri, waiting for an introduction, or an explanation. He didn’t particularly care which of the two he received, as long as one came. Quickly.

'Our mate is here! Nuri, he does want us!' Nuri's wolf gasped happily as she jumped up and down with excitement, then seemed to realize what she was doing, and stopped with a growl. 'Why is he here? Did he not get the message a week ago?'

"Oh, my god, alpha!" Peter exclaimed, his green eyes going wide in shock as he took a step back, putting his hand to his chest in shock. "You're here, in Nuri's house?"

"The better question here, is why are you here, in Nuri's house?" Kalmin asked as he looked to Nuri who was still standing in the doorway, frozen in place.

"We were going to study together, and we always study here." Peter mumbled, trying to keep himself from gawking. 'I can't believe I'm talking to the alpha! I can't believe he's even looking at me! Though I suppose I should probably be scared, I can't. He's so hot!'

"Leave. Now." Kalmin growled, keeping his eyes locked on Nuri. He waited until he was sure Peter was far enough away before taking her arm and pulling her out of the house, and out of her father's hearing, before speaking again. "Only days ago, we found out we were mates, and you're already with another man?"

"We aren't together, Kalmin. We are friends, who study together. Actually, why am I explaining myself to you? I don't owe you anything!" Nuri gasped, struggling to get her arm free of Kalmin's grasp, confused as to why he was acting like he cared when just days ago he'd wanted to kill her.

"Regardless of whether we are together or not, you are my mate." Kalmin snarled as he grabbed her chin in his hand, and forced her to look up into his eyes, growling lowly as he glared. "You, are mine. Do you understand?"

"I am no one's possession, alpha." Nuri spat, using all of her strength to push him away from her, but to no avail, as all of her strength was nothing compared to his. Nuri wanted to scream when she realized she couldn't force him to release her but instead brought her eyes back up to meet his, glaring. "Why are you here?"

"You are coming to be with me, and that is not up for debate." He responded simply before he pulled her back into the house, where her parents had her suitcases packed, and waiting.
