CHAPTER THREE

"...and one bag with schmear, please" Andy said as she turned to Ava with a questioning face which Ava understood.

"I want what she ordered too," Ava said to the waiter

"Dumbbell, can we sign the documents?" Logan said as he adjusted his gaze on Dumbbell who was starting to talk to Andy.

Ava felt he must have been exhausted probably due to the fact she had been grilling over him.

"I have to leave very soon; I have a lot to do," Logan continued.

"Try having fun sometimes Logan,” Dumbbell replied as he brought out the document from the envelope.

Logan read through them quietly while he handed some parts of the documents over to Dumbbell after he had signed them. "I am afraid, but I have to leave right now," Logan said as he stood up and left with his part of the documents.

"Does your friend smile at all?” Andy asked immediately Logan left.

"Andy, I need to use the ladies." Ava was upset at Andy for letting her just sit there all by herself and at the same time angry she felt lonely .

"Okay dear," Andy said as she continued her discussion with Dumbbell, smiling in a way that revealed her shiny, straight dentition.

Ava took her bag, and fortunately, Andy did not even notice. Of course, she did not expect Andy to notice, for she was enjoying one of her best moments. She was sure Andy would end up in Dumbbell's bed this night. Ava smiled briefly at her dirty thought; she hurried out as fast as she could trying her driver's number which was not available – all she needed right now is her bed.

“Miss Miller!”

“Is that you?" Ava recognized that voice immediately. It was Logan. He was coming towards her with his guards. "Is everything alright?" he asked.

Ava wished the ground could swallow her. She was meeting this scarce man for the third time today. where was her conscience he,

"Do you mind if I drop you home?" he stretched his hands towards her.

“I am fine,” she said, shivering.

It is brick out here. You don't want to freeze to death." Logan began to wonder why he sounded like a thirst bucket.

"Okay, Mr. Rodriguez," she finally agreed.

Andrew opened the passenger seat as she sat while Logan followed suit. Ava was starting to feel bad about her day as she just kept staring outside the mirror. She could have cried, but she held back her tears. Probably her friend pitied her, she hated the thought, but that was what she could think of. Liam made her like this, anyway, and now she wished she could really hate him but yet she missed him more than ever.

"I will stop here, my house is just around the corner," Ava said as she hurried out. "Thanks for today, Mr. Rodriguez. I am very grateful," Ava said has she made her way to leave.

"Excuse me, Miss Miller," Logan said as he grabbed her right hand. "I am sorry, but I wish to know you more Miss Miller. Here’s my complimentary card."

Ava accepted the card with no intention of using it, right now she just wanted to crash on her bed like she did last night.

"I will expect your call,” Logan said as he walked towards his car.

"I will call you,” she replied as she finally walked towards her apartment. She wondered if Liam was thinking about her, and then her thoughts went back to Logan. She was sure Mr. Billionaire must have fallen in love with her. He kept staring at her big ass; she smiled wickedly as she stood up and stared at herself at her mirror. Damn! She was hot, and he was sexy, she thought. She almost lost it today just staring at him, if only she had met him before Liam, she began to undress so she could go to bed.

As Logan walked towards his penthouse, which was surrounded by CCTV and a number of bodyguards whom he made sure kept every angle covered, he instructed Andrew to make sure everything was fine while Drake followed him. As he walked towards the elevator, Logan’s thoughts went back to Ava. He knew they were both attracted to each other, she had all he wanted in a woman – her beauty, plus he loved her butts especially. She was definitely his spec.

"Drake, I need you to find out everything about Miss Miller as soon as possible," he said as he entered into the elevator.

"Yes, Mr. Rodriguez,” Drake replied as he walked behind Logan as the elevator opened.

“I will see you tomorrow, Drake" Logan said as he unlocked the door leading into the penthouse with his face.

“Okay sir," Drake said as he left.

Logan always came to the penthouse whenever he missed his late mother, Chloe Rodriguez. She died during childbirth, Chloe had handed over her child to Evelyn who was then, the Rodriguez’ family nurse who later married his father. He had only a few of his mother's pictures, but he named the hotel below the penthouse after her 'The Chloe Hotel’. Logan sat on a chair as he shut his eye to sleep.

Logan’s alarm kept buzzing as he struggled to get it. He must have let out his somnambulism as he stood up from his bed. He pressed the analog telephone beside him.

"Morning Mr. Rodriguez, how may I help you?" Gwen said as she awaited her boss's reply.

"Bring in my breakfast in twenty minutes." He was hungry; he barely ate yesterday. Logan dropped the call as he walked towards the bathroom to bathe. Stepping out of the bathroom his phone was rang.

“Good morning Mr. Rodriguez. Information about Miss Miller is ready. May I come in?" Drake said over the phone.

Logan hung up, threw on a short and a shirt as he walked towards the door. “You may come in.”

Drake handed over the document to Logan who went through them. The door alarm rang again, and Drake went to open it. It was one of the hotel waitresses.

"Good morning, Mr. Rodriguez. Here is your breakfast," the waitress stepped back after bowing and left.

"You may leave now. I will call you when I need you.” Drake bowed and left while Logan went on to look at every detail on Ava. He picked up his phone and decided to call her since it was weekend. He should probably call her first; ladies hated acting first. He picked up his phone and dialed her number.

Ava who had just woken up to brush her teeth, ignored her phone, thinking it was Andy calling her. She was not in the mood to talk to her. She picked the phone after brushing her teeth, just then the phone rang again, and it was not Andy as she thought.

“Hello. Am I speaking to Miss Miller?” Logan asked as he waited patiently for her reply.

"Yes, how may I help you please?" she sat quietly on her bed.

"Good morning, Miss Miller. This is Logan, we met yesterday. I kept waiting for your call, so I decided to call first." The shock that gripped her almost made her drop her phone as she went mute. "I just wanted to know what your schedule looks like today. If you don't mind, I want us to hang out later."

"Can I call you back?" Ava finally managed to ask.

"No problem. I will expect your call," Logan replied.

“Bye," Ava cut the call as she breathed out heavily. She almost lost it. How on earth did he get her number? At that point, it did not even matter to her that he had connections everywhere. It would not have been a problem for him. She picked her phone and dialed Andy’s number. "Hello Andy. Where are you?" For some reason, Ava was so excited, a sharp change from the mood she was in earlier in the morning

“Come open your door. I am standing outside,” Andy hung up immediately as usual.

“She never quits,"Ava murmured to herself as she hurried downstairs immediately.

"I thought you were going to be pissed at me, but your mood says something different," Andy said as she came in.

"That dress is from last night. Andy, you slept with Dumbbell?!” Ava asked in confusion.

“I needed it, Ava. I promise you, Ava, he is my last snack," she said as she sat on the sofa.

Ava for some reason was not surprised, but she just wished Andy stuck to sex with a guy and not a new one every time.

"Please get me water, Ava," Andy said with a smile.

"You should not be smiling, Andy. I’m still mad at you for what you did last night," Ava said as she handed her friend a glass of water.

"Then you must have called me for another reason," she said as she gulped the water like a parched camel.

“Rodriguez called me this morning." Ava paused, seeing Andy's excited look.

“And so?" Andy asked impatiently.

"He asked me on a date," Ava ended as she walked back towards the kitchen.

"Jackpot!” Andy ran towards Ava as she shook her aggressively.

"Oh, c'mon Andy,” Ava said as she playfully slapped Andy's hands off her body.

“If I were you, I would definitely schtupp him today. Who knew that dude ever looked at women. Have you decided what to wear? You also..."

Ava cut in immediately. "Andy, I have not even accepted his request. I told him I was going to call him back," Ava said as she prepared sandwich.

“Are you kidding me, Ava? Where is your phone?" Andy asked quickly.

"I left it in my room. Here, have some sandwich."

Andy ran up immediately without answering Ava. Not long after, she came down with the phone. "The only thing I want from you is to tell Logan you are going on a date," Andy said as she began to dial the number.

"Andy, I don’t have anything to wear," Ava said as she chased Andy to cut the call, but it was too late. The next voice was Logan's.

“Hello. Are you there?"

"Hello, Mr. Rodriguez. I would like to know what time you were coming to pick me" Ava said as she eyed Andy who was giggling.

“Eight is perfect, if you don't mind."

"Eight is fine,” Ava replied quietly.

"Bye Miss Miller. I will see you then.”

"Bye," Ava hung up and stared fiercely at Andy, who looked confused.

"Why are you grilling me like that? You wanna take it there?” Andy said jokingly to her friend.

"I’m dead. Andy, you are a bad friend," Ava said as she continued with her breakfast. "Sorry about leaving you last night. I just had a lot on my mind, now can you help me pick a dress and let’s go food-shopping after.”

“I need a change of clothes though, I think I left some clothes here" Andy stood up to change immediately.
