-Unknown POV-

I immediately felt the reaction from Wolf. I haven’t had the time to check out my surroundings, but I know she’s there - not even knowing who ‘she’ is. But I feel her. The pull gets stronger and I can barely contain myself or my wolf. I’ve to put all my energy in refocusing, I push myself to look down at the ground and take a few deep breaths. Not that it’s helping, ‘cause it’s making me even more aware of that gorgeous scent.

I lift my head and stare straight in a pair of grey eyes, they’re only 30 feet away. A small, but angry-looking she-wolf is staring at me. Damn, she’s gorgeous! It’s the most beautiful wolf, I’ve ever seen! Well, I have to say: that’s not very difficult, I’ve not seen many. But still: she’s breathtaking!

But I’ve not had a lot of time to think about that wolf, she’s showing her teeth and ready to attack me. She’s walking slowly towards me, growling. Her attitude is making me hesitate, what did I do to make her that angry? But the closer she comes, the stronger that scent gets. It’s her scent! I’m in two worlds now, everything in my body screams to shrug my head against hers, to feel her soft fur, to mate her. Mate her?

Oh hell yes, I want to mate her. The sooner the better. I hear Wolf's voice in my head.

I shake my head, he’s confusing me. I don’t jump on girls that fast! What’s happening? But before I can figure it out myself, I see a grey wolf flying towards me. She’s fast! I’m not able to fully dodge her attack and a sharp pain goes through my shoulder when her paw scratched it.

-Fiona POV-

Soon after I curled up next to Indy, she fell asleep. I smile from the inside, I love that girl so much! I lay my head down on my grey paws, making sure I watch that entrance closely. Even though I don’t think that the visitor will come back in the dark, I have to make sure Indy is safe.

After 10 minutes, I could feel my eyes getting sleepy too. But I can’t sleep! I stand up, trying not to wake Indy. With my snout, I push some wood into the little fire. Indy is going to need the warmth of that fire when she’s going to have the watch next. I stretch my legs, and breath in some of the fresh night-air. That’s when I noticed. I sniff the air, and I get in defence mode immediately: he’s back! I’m getting low to the ground, ready to attack.

I wait for ten seconds, 15… I smell that his scent is getting stronger, he’s close. Strangely enough, it feels kinda … good? Yes, it’s an almost comforting scent. I’m confused. I can even feel my wolf purr inside of my head. Hey, what are you doin’, missy? Focus! I say to her.

And then I saw him. A black wolf, he entered the cave pretty abrupt. My heart makes a little jump. I growl softly, warning him. I walk in his direction and stop at 30 feet. I can see he’s confused. Why? He’s shaking his head and looking down. What is he doing? Two seconds later he’s lifting his head and our eyes lock. I felt a spark of energy in my heart. What the hell?

But I know the time of the year, I know every male wolf is dangerous. I don’t want to go through all that again. I have the best chance of survival when I attack, when I scare them. Hopefully enough to go away. I show my teeth, and growl again, louder this time. Why isn’t he doing anything? Why is he staring at me like that?

I walk upon him, quietly. It seems like he isn’t noticing my movements. What the hell is he doing? What is he thinking? When I’m around 10 feet or so, I decide to take my chance. With a loud growl, I jump. He saw me coming, at the last moment. He dodged my attack slightly, but I was able to scratch his shoulder and he faltered.

But the moment I scratched his shoulder, I felt it: sparks! Little bolts of energy are sent through my paw to my heart. No, this can’t be!

The mysterious dark wolf groaned at my touch and he seemed surprised as well. But all this noise woke Indy up, and I could hear her voice when she runs towards us: “NOO! Go away, don’t touch Fiona! This is all my fault, I made her shift! STOP!”

That’s when it hits me: I shapeshifted! How could I make such a mistake! That wolf was probably directly led towards my scent, how stupid of me! I make use of Indy’s distraction, and run back to the tent. I shapeshift back to my human-form, and quickly put on some clothes. I grab the spray and spray the fluid all over my body. This should temper the wolf’s instinct.

I hurry back to Indy and the wolf. Indy’s still standing in front of the wolf and I chuckle at the sight of it. The wolf is close to her height, even when she’s not little, but she’s still trying to block his path. I know she’s not a match, not even close. But she’s standing there, furiously. that’s my girl! I walk over to her and let my hand rest on her shoulder: “It’s OK, sweety. The spray should do it’s work now. I’m not sure for how long though.”

I watch the black wolf, I stare into his blue eyes. My heart is jumping in my chest and I have to block the urge to pet his shiny, black fur. But standing this close to that wolf is causing disconnection in my brains. I see the nostrils of that wolf moving, he’s nervous.

“Fi? Are you OK? What are we gonna do with him?” I hear Indy’ s voice. “Why is he smelling that badly, though?” she whispers, trying to make the wolf not hear her. But off course, that isn’t working with his good hearing. The wolf looks at Indy and growls softly, annoyed. I look at him, angry, and smack his snout. “Don’t you ever do that to her, again!” I snap.

The moment my hand touches his snout, I know for sure. I look at the wolf and ask softly:

“I didn’t expect this day would come, anymore. You’re my mate, aren’t ya?”

Indy is staring into my face, mouth wide open. “He’s your whát?”
