Chapter Two
Trixie was just a quiet, wolfless girl trying to make it through life. Ever since her parents deaths 10 years ago, she hasn't had an easy life.
The sun was high in the sky and warming. The perfect day for Terrance to take his girls to their meadow for lunch! As he watched his mate and little girl packing up the picnic basket, he couldn't help but smile to himself. He felt like the luckiest man alive. He always wanted a family and to be a good father. He thought that finding his mate was the best day of his life, that was until his little princess Trixie was welcomed into the world. She had her dad wrapped around her finger. He had the happiest life, almost perfect life with his girls and today was going to be perfect as well. It was Trixies 8th birthday today and what better way to celebrate than go to their favorite place, the meadow!
After making their way to the meadow, Terrance layed down the blanket and started setting up lunch while watching Trixie run around the meadow, picking flowers with the biggest smile. After letting her run around for a bit, Terrance finally called her over so they could eat lunch. Just as Terrance imagined, today was going perfect for his family. As they let their food settle while they lay down and soak up the sun, the Red Wood pack sirens start blaring, Trixies mom immediately snatches her up, right as they're about to run back, they hear the snarls of the rogues. The rogues stand between them their way back home. Terrance immediately stands between them and his family, prepared for a fight. Knowing his pack members are on their way but are too far to help right now, he knows he has to act fast in order to keep his girls safe. As one of the rogues lunges for Trixie and her mom, Trixies mom shifts into her wolf form ready for a fight but before the rogue could even get close, it bursts into flames... Terrance is standing there swallowed by flames. It doesn't burn him or hurt his family. Terrance is a phoenix, the last of his kind. Only his mate knows what he is. As more rogues start to attack, Trixie is forced to watch as her parents fight for their lives. Terrances energy to hold his flame becomes too much but that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to fight. Some of the rogues manage to force Terrance further into the wooded area near the meadow separating him from his family while Trixie and her mom become surrounded. The next second the rogues pounce on Trixie and her mother, her mother managed to successfully shield Trixie during the fight but it cost her her life.
There was a loud howl that came from the edge of the meadow as the Alpha of the Red Wood pack appeared. As warriors chased off and killed any remaining rogues, the Alpha went straight to where Trixie was. She was crying while holding her mom. Where's my daddy? Trixie asked. He didn't say anything but looked in the direction of where some of his warriors came from and they just shook their heads, they couldn't find him or the rogues. He just vanished, assuming he was dead. As the pack started to clean up the mess, Trixie was being taken to the pack hospital to make sure she didn't have any injuries. Werewolves have faster healing abilities than humans but only after their wolf matures and they meet at the age of 16. Trixie was only 8 so she had to have a check up. After she was cleared to go back home, the Alpha had other plans. He immediately put the blame on Trixie, saying it was her fault that they were out there. If she wouldn't have asked to go there for her birthday, Terrance would still be alive. Terrance was his best friend and he just lost him. His rage was pushed onto Trixie.
It took one week for Trixie to be placed into an orphanage. The Red Wood pack shunned Trixie because of the rumors that their alpha started, it was her fault that she had gotten her parents killed. Trixie was only 8 years old, she didn't understand why the pack started to hate her or blame her for killing her parents. She didn't understand it all. As soon the alpha found a pack that would take her, he sent her away immediately but not before the alpha of the Red Wood pack told the alpha of the Full Moon pack what had happened. Alpha Jackson agreed on accepting Trixie into his pack and allowing the orphanage to take her in but he didn't really believe what the Red Wood pack was saying. But he didn't really stop his pack from turning on the innocent child either.
Trixie just kept getting more and more lost..
(Two years before her 18th birthday)
Trixie grew up in the orphanage. As payment for being accepted into the Full Moon pack, she had to cook for the pack house members and clean, scrub all the bathrooms and bedrooms of the pack house. She was treated poorly as well. All the members of the pack treated her like dirt. They too blamed her for her parents death, everyone did and so Trixie sometimes believed them. After all they would still be alive if she didn't want to celebrate her birthday, right?
"No." Trixie thought, her parents would never blame her for it. She was just a child, she shouldn't be blamed for that. Trixie just kept on working and focusing on school, taking all the threats and abuse everyday. She was better than this and some day she will prove it.
A couple days after Trixies 16th birthday, word spread like wildfire that she didn't shift into her wolf. She's wolfless! How disgusting! One girl whispered to another. How could Alpha Jackson allow someone like her to stay in our pack? She's a disgrace to this pack! Shows everyone how weak we are! The rumors went around school of course. It's high school, why wouldn't they spread. As soon as Alpha Jackson and the director of the orphanage found out she was wolfless, they kicked her out of it. She thought she would become homeless in her own pack but an older couple saw it and took pity on her and allowed her to live in their garage. It was separated from the house and was already converted into some sort of apartment so it would work for Trixie until she could afford to move out of the pack borders. Maybe she could get a job at the castle, Full Moon pack was located in the kingdoms territory. So she could try to find work there after high school. Trixie kept telling herself, just two more years and she won't have to listen to Alpha Jackson anymore!
(present day)
Trixie woke up with her heart racing and absolute fear, she did not want to go to school today. It was her 18th birthday which meant everyone at school was going to be abusive today. They are normally abusive on other days, teasing her, calling her ugly names, blaming her for her parents death but on her birthdays, they would jump her when she's least expecting it and won't stop until Max or a teacher catches them.
Max is Alpha Jacksons son and the only one who doesn't torture Trixie. He's never blamed her for her parents death, despite what everyone else says. She was only 8! Plus no one from this pack including himself was there so how can they even have an opinion on such a matter? So he tried to help Trixie whenever he could. Including staying close to her on her birthdays because he knows what happens. He's not the Alpha yet so he can't command anyone to stop. Trixie doesn't even seem to notice how much he actually cares for her. She knows they're not mates so she pays him no mind. She doesn't want friendships with anyone here because she doesn't plan on staying in this pack. She just has 6 more months of school and she can finally leave!
"I heard he's a monster, kills just for fun. How terrifying is that!"
"And our King just lets him walk right into our territory!"
"I heard that they unified the two kingdoms! That he will now be our king as well!"
"It was hard enough for us to accept Prince Balthazar as his second and General Kol and now he expects us to accept an entire kingdom of their kind?!"
Trixie just kept hearing more and more about some crazy demon king wandering around the territory. She even heard that he was only unifying the two kingdoms because he found his mate and wanted everything to be easier for his mate. Trixie thought that was kind of sweet and romantic. Especially someone like the King of Hell, who is meant to be a monster who only loves killing, that he would already be showing a different side to himself.
The day pressed on and it was time for lunch but of course Trixie wasn't allowed to enter the cafeteria. Trixie was too skinny, she only ever ate dinner because that's all she could afford was one meal a day. So she normally just stayed in the hallway studying during lunch but today was different and was going to change her life.

"Brother, are you sure your mate is here?" Theodore was already tired of being around all these wolves and now Kane was making him go into a school full of horny teenagers. Theodore knew he was good looking, being 6'9", dirty blonde hair with bright blue eyes and muscles for days, women always threw themselves at him and he hated every second of it. He was waiting for his mate. Even if it took another thousand years, he would wait. It's how his brother and him were raised.
Kane just chuckled, being able to read minds, he couldn't help but find his brother amusing.
As Gabriel pulled the car up to the school, Kane couldn't sit still. He could feel her, sense her...and he felt she was in danger! He let out an ear piercing growl and darted out of the car with the guys hot on his trail.
Kane almost ripped the main doors to the school off their hinges. Once he was through, he froze in place for only a second, he couldn't believe what he was seeing! How could Gabriel allow something like to happen under his watch!
Everyone froze in their spots when they heard the most terrifying, sinister growl they could have ever imagined and it was directed right towards them.
