Chapter Six
It's been a couple hours since Kane went to his meeting with Theodore. He seemed a little on edge before he left. When I asked him what was bothering him, he just told me that everything was fine and continued making breakfast. I didn't want to push so I dropped it and focused on making him smile until he left. I hope the meeting was going well. Just from the stories, I know he has a temper and I feel really sorry for anyone who says the wrong thing to him while in one of his fits. Trixie thought to herself and lightly chuckled at the thought of how crazy her mate was and yet she has never seen that side of him that everyone gossips about. She honestly didn't care what kind of monster he was, he was her mate and she accepted him no matter what he has done in the past.
Trixie spent most of her morning finishing up her homework and watching TV. The one perk of living in a pack was they had three day weekends every weekend. The alphas and elder council never really gave a reason for it but no one really complained about it either.
Just as Trixie was starting to make some homemade pizza with all the groceries Kane had bought. He was not happy about the empty fridge and cabinets there. He went all out and stocked her little garage full of food. It's only been a couple of days since Kane entered her life and she can already tell she's gained a few pounds. She wasn't complaining though, she knew she was under weight and needed to gain a bunch more before she would be at healthy size.
As she was singing along to her music and preparing her pizza, she started to hear this weird buzzing sound. It wasn't a loud buzzing sound, it was soft. Trixie thought it was from the fridge or even the oven and tried to ignore it but just as she went to continue with her pizza, the buzzing sound intensified. Making her cover her ears with her hands. That's when she realized the noise was in her head. What the hell is happening! Trixie tried to shake the noise away but it wasn't going anywhere. Just when she thought she was starting to go crazy, her thoughts immediately went to Kane. It has to be him! Something must be wrong, she wasn't 100 percent sure but her gut was telling her to go check on her mate. And so she did.

Trixie made her way towards the castle but was stopped at the gate by two overly beefy guards. "State your business here, wolfless mutt." One of the guards spat at her. Trixie took a step back out of habit but managed to speak up. "I-I'm h-here to s-see Kane.." Trixie cursed her stutter, she always stuttered when she was scared.
The guards both had a hearty laugh while eyeing the tiny little creature in front of them. "Go back to where you came from, little one. Kane has made it pretty clear that he doesn't want some random whores showing up here. I'm sure he has no problem with getting them himself so stop while you're ahead so you don't embarrass yourself." One guard said with pure amusement. "Run along and go fuck someone else." The other guard said.
"I-I'm.. h-his.. m-mate.." Trixie choked out between sobs. Why did she have to be so emotional? The guards froze on the spot at what she said, they both shared a look of wonder and fear. If what she said was true then they were both as good as dead. Just as one guard came back to his senses, "Kane has never mentioned a mate. So nice try and enough with the tears. We're not going to fall for it. Leave now or be thrown in the cells." He said with much hatred.
"If you DARE lay so much as finger on our Queen, I'll have your fucking head mutt." A deep threatening growl came from behind them, making them spin around and come face to face with Diesel. Diesel was a top warrior for King Gabriel and also Princess Angels mate. He was a full blooded demon but left his kingdom to join Gabriels when he found his mate. Diesel was someone to fear when it came to the royal members of both kingdoms. He may not be a part of the Eternal Kingdom anymore but he still showed nothing but respect for their King and now Queen.
"There's no way this thing is Kanes mate. The Moon Goddess wouldn't pair him with someone like her." The brave but very stupid guard spoke. One second he was insulting Trixie and the next second he was pinned up against the gate while Diesel slowly choked the life out of him. The other guard didn't dare so much as speak. He knew they were in the wrong and he didn't want to suffer the same fate as his idiot work partner.
Diesel let go at the last minute. He decided it was up to the king what this mans fate would be. "Both of you go and wait in the den. Kane will deal with you after his meeting." Diesel smiled evilly at them. They both paled but still listened to his instructions and headed towards the castle.
While Diesel waited for two other guards to show and take their place, he hurriedly let Trixie in. She looked like a mess. A tear stricken face and little hiccups from crying. If Kane saw her like this, he would burn the castle to the ground. Trixie tried to wipe the tears away and steady her breathing. She was here to find Kane and see what was wrong, not for Kane to have to worry about her.
When the other guards showed up, Diesel stuck out an arm to Trixie for her to grab onto while he led the way but Trixie just shook her head. "I don't want to see how Kane would react if he saw or smelled another male on me. I heard demons are way worse than that of wolves or lycans when it comes to their mate. I'd rather not upset him. He's already upset." Trixie spoke with a small smile. "Okay, my Queen. I'll take you to Kane." Diesel returned her smile.
"Please, just call me Trixie."

Walking through the castle for the first time, Trixie was star struck. She's never seen something so beautiful. It was a true masterpiece. Even though she was caught up staring at everything, she still felt all the different eyes on her. She knew they were questioning why she was here. She even heard some of the whispers but chose to ignore them. She was here for Kane and Kane only.
Diesel led her to the door of the conference room. The buzzing sound in her head has only gotten louder since she's been here and she knew she was right when it had something to do with Kane. Trixie managed to gather up the courage and lightly knocked on the door and went to open it.
"W-what i-is ha-happening in h-here..?" Trixie immediately gasped at the sight. All the men were in defensive stances but her eyes were solely on her mate. He looked like Kane but his eyes were a dark solid red and the aura coming off of him was making Trixie take steps back. Before Trixie could turn around a leave, Kane blinked right in front of her and grabbed her face with both his hands.
"What's wrong, my Queen? What's happened? Has someone hurt you? Who made you cry?" Goliath threw question after question towards her. He was ready to kill anyone who has harmed her. He just needed her to say the words and it would all be over.
"W-who ar-are y-you?" Trixie was a shivering mess.
Goliath let out a huge sigh and moved his hands to wrap around Trixie while he nestled his nose in the crook of her neck. Her scent calmed him immediately. He needed it. "My name is Goliath, mate. I'm Kanes demon. I don't mean to scare you sugar and I definitely don't mean for us to meet like this." Goliath whispered to her. His deep, rough, sinister voice went away in an instant. Only a soft, calming but still rough voice was to be heard now.
The men in the room were shocked. The infamous Goliath, who has slayed thousands upon thousands, the monster everyone fears, the man who can kill with no emotion, no guilt, no mercy was a just a giant fucking teddy bear in front of his mate. Theodore smirked to himself, he never thought anyone could get to Goliath but here he was being proved wrong again. Trixie was the sweet honey that this killer bee needed to be kept in check, thank you Moon Goddess.
Jackson on the other was feeling slightly relieved. Maybe Goliath wouldn't kill him as long as Trixie would forgive him. He had to try at least.
Before Trixie could respond back to Goliath, Jackson spoke. "Trixie, I'm so glad you're here! I've been meaning to talk to.." Jackson was cut off from an ear piercing growl that could shatter windows. "You will not speak to her!" Goliath said through clenched teeth. Trixie just kept looking back and forth between the two of them. Then it all clicked together.
"That's what the buzzing noise was! It was you! It's because you are here!" Trixie nearly squealed, excited that she found the solution. The second she saw Goliath, the buzzing stopped. She doesn't know why it started to begin with but she was glad it ended.
"What buzzing noise?" This time Theodore spoke up, intrigued by this small information, forgetting that his brother was fixing to slaughter Jackson.
"It's the mate bond/connection between us. Once we are fully mated, it'll become a soft hum, almost like you're humming to yourself. It'll only appear when I surface when I'm not near her. It's just the bond letting her know she needs to come to me, 'help' me if you must say. You know better than anyone else, Theo, I only surface when absolutely needed to. So surfacing just now, our bond was calling to her, for her to find me and calm me down. That's the best I can explain it." Goliath said with slight annoyance. He wants to kill this prick for causing his mate so much pain and yet people keep distracting him. Well one person in particular is. Trixie keeps rubbing one hand on his arm while the other rubs soothing circles on his back, forcing Goliath to remain calm. He knows Trixie knows what she's doing. She doesn't want him to act on his emotions and he loved her even more for that.
"Goliath, you already know this but my name is Trixie. I should properly introduce myself since this is our first meeting." Trixie smiled sweetly at him. She didn't want to leave him here to finish his 'meeting' so she needed to act quick before he focused back on Jackson. She had no reason to listen to what he had to say. She didn't care. So she put all her focus back on her wild mate.
"Will you take me home? I want us to go home, please?"
