VACATION?
IVY'S POINT OF VIEW.
I'm excited. No, ecstatic is a better word. Not only did I finish the last chapter of the novel have been working on for months now, but Cole and I are also going on a date.
Yeah, a date.
We haven't been on a date in years, it feels good. He's probably taking me somewhere fancy, to an exquisite restaurant in which I can't pronounce its name.
We are both in the car driving to the place. And of course, you know I went all out, red lipstick on, legs shaved, a knee-length gown that hugs my petite body, painful heels on.
I'm so ready for tonight.
I turned to my sharply dressed husband who's focusing on the road before I turned to the window smiling hard.
I stared mesmerized at the city lights, the sky that house the beautiful stars. This night is just perfect, nothing can go wrong.
"We are here." The car comes to an abrupt stop, I turned to Cole sending him an excited smile before looking ahead to the restaurant.
I was right, I defiantly can't pronounce its name and it looks so classy.
"Fancy." I squealed excitedly.
"Let's go." Cole gives me his cute smile before getting down from the car.
I sat in the car waiting for my husband to open the door for me, like them fancy people.
My eyes widened to see my husband already heading inside totally leaving me behind.
You have to be kidding me.
I rushed out of the car to catch up with the jerk.
"What took you so long?" Seriously? Did he just ask me that?
I ignored it, tonight I'm going to have fun so I'm going to ignore it.
"Nothing," I answered, as he ushered me to the front.
I excitedly waited in line as the security crossed checked the reservations, we are two persons away from getting inside.
I turned smiling at my husband, only to face front to see a man cut in line, taking my place as the next person to be answered.
"Excuse me?" I called out to the rude man.
"You are excused." I gasped at the heavily built man reply but his stature wasn't going to intimidate me, even if he's staring directly at me.
"Well, I and my husband where here first and we are the next people to be answered." I glared.
"Now you are not." He turned around leaving me with my mouth wide open.
I turned to Cole who I didn't expect to be quiet only to see him on his phone.
What a way to start a date.
"What's wrong?" I ignored his question taking my seat, he has been asking me the same question since we entered the restaurant.
I'm pissed, that's what's wrong.
"Ivy?" I finally looked up at him, unfolding the table napkin, carefully putting it on my laps.
"What's wrong? Oh, where do I start?" I glared at him, ignoring his already apologetic face.
"How about when I was waiting for you to open the car door for me but you didn't notice." I paused.
"You were..." I interrupted because I'm not ready for him to say something cute and I'll forgive him in an instant.
"Or how you said nothing when that man was rude to me."
"What do you w-want me to do, punch him?" He asked horrified, it's almost comical but I'm not going to laugh because I'm still mad.
"Yes." I frowned.
"If I did, I'll lose my hands, then I won't be able to open the car door for you." He stretched his right hand forth.
"But you didn't," I whined, taking his hand.
"I'm gonna when we are leaving." He smiled. Gosh, that smile that makes me forget what I'm mad at him in the first place.
"You do have a great hand, we don't want you losing it anytime soon." I joked, feeling his soft palm.
"But seriously, I hope you know that if he ever did something horrible to you, I won't have hesitated to lose my hands." I smiled at his seriousness.
"I know." I actually know, Cole would never let anyone hurt me.
"So I'm forgiven?" He pouted, I released his hands.
"You are besides, I'm gonna waste your money on an expensive wine bottle." I picked the menu
"Well, I don't mind."
"Wait, you are eating that?" I looked at the food in disgust.
The food looked better on a piece of paper than in reality. I like fancy restaurants but doesn't mean I like their food.
"What do you mean, it's the best part." He mumbles eating the greenish thing they call food.
I took another sip of wine, let me show you the statistics; Food 0% Wine 99%.
"That's the only part." I rolled my eyes.
"Tell me how's work?" I started a conversation.
"Good, we are starting the beta testing for our new app..." I let him get to the nerdy details as I listen over a glass of wine.
"What about you?" He asked.
"Well, I just finished writing that story I told you about, I've given it to my editor." I smiled proudly.
"Can't wait to read." I laughed at that statement.
"Why so you can't pretend to actually read it and give my characters names that don't exist." I mocked.
"Are sure Jones isn't a character in your last book? Because I'm pretty sure there's a character named Jones." He nods, I bit my lips trying not to laugh.
"No there's not, just as there was not a Miranda, an Allison and defiantly not a Kelvin." I smiled.
"No way, not even a Kelvin." He gasped in a dramatic way as I let out a laugh.
I missed this.
Just then I spotted the last person I'd want to see on my date, my sister and her arrogant husband walking. What are they doing here?
Fuck.
"Shit!" I cussed out.
"What?" Cole asked.
"My sister and Jason just walked in." My husband turned.
"Don't turn, they might..." And they saw us.
Double fuck.
I breathed out in frustration as my sister and her husband walk to our table.
"Sis." She calls out, I stood up dropping the napkin on the table, giving her a peck. Not exactly a peck because my mouth didn't touch her cheeks just a form of greeting.
I did the same to Jason, when we all greeted each other I took my seat.
"Care if we join you guys?" Yes, I do care.
"No, join us." Cole gave a kind but awkward smile. Cole doesn't like my sister or her husband, they are so intimidating.
So I now know my husband is going to be quiet for the whole dinner.
"Didn't know you guys come here?" Jason started with his condescending tone, picking up the menu.
The same tone Lili uses with me every time, as always I won't give them the joy.
"We do all the time." I lied with a fake smile. Totally ignoring Cole's eyes on me.
"We come here all the time as well." Lili smiles at her husband.
"I bet you do." Another fake smile.
This going to be one long night.
"Cole, My sister told me all about the anniversary surprise, it was amazing." I froze at my sister's words.
Oh shit.
"Anniversary surprise?" Cole asked confused.
"Yes, babe." I glared at him as an indication he follows with the lie, even if he's not good at it.
"Hon, you won't believe what Cole did for Ivy on their anniversary." My sister told her husband everything I said, Cole just kept on nodding in agreement in which I'm glad about.
"Good one, bro." With his tone, I can tell he feels bested by Cole James.
I made Jason Black sad.
"He's such an amazing husband." I smiled at Cole whose hand his already shaking from the lies.
"Jason and I planned this amazing vacation to Cuba which we've paid for but sadly we can't go, Jason got called back to set." Jason is a movie star, an obnoxious one at that.
"Sad." I mocked.
"Hon, I have an idea. Why don't Cole and Ivy go in our place?" My eyes widened, the first thing my sister as ever said that I'm excited about.
"That's great if they aren't doing anything this summer." This is amazing.
I turned to Cole smiling widely.
"We don't " I answered for both of us before Cole could reject.
"I guess we are going on a vacation babe."
