Chapter Five - Midnight phone call

Asher

It was after midnight, and I was still out with my friends. Yes, it has been a fun night, but now I was ready for home. I have had everything I need tonight, a drink, a smoke and sex, that’s all I need to keep me happy.

“I am heading home, you guys enjoy the rest of your night,” I said, standing up, and staggered a little.

I may have had a little too much to drink.

“You going to make it home?” my buddy Simon laughed.

“I will be fine, see you tomorrow,” I said, heading off.

I walked only a few steps and then decided I couldn’t be assed walking the rest of the way. I would get a cab home. I grabbed my phone, going to call a cab but then I came across Farrah’s name on my call list and smirked. I think I will call her first. I have a feeling she will be sleeping, but I will try and see if she answers. If she does, I will use my best charm and see if she will come and get me.

I hit the call button, the phone ringing one, two, three times and then she answered.

“Hello,” She groaned.

I think I woke her up. Oh well, she is awake now, I will chance my luck.

“Hey, sweetness, did I wake you?” I asked.

“Yes,” She said, “Is everything OK?” She added.

“Sorry,” I said, I wasn’t really sorry though, “Yes, everything is OK, though I may be a little stranded. I would walk home, but I have drunk too much, and I was going to call a cab but realised I never had enough money,” I added.

That was a complete lie. I always have money.

“And what can I do about that?” She asked.

“Is there any way you could come and pick me up? I know it is late, but I need to get home,” I said.

“I can’t, my parents would kill me if I went out at this time,” She said, sounding shocked that I would even ask.

I chuckled for a moment.

“They don’t need to know, sneak out,” I said, “Please, Farrah? I would ask unless I needed too,” I added, trying to sound sad.

Yes, I was trying to make her feel sorry for me because she seemed like the type that would work on. It was a dick move, I know, but I was a dick, that is no secret.

“What about your friends? Can’t one of them take you?” She sighed.

“They are all wasted,” I said, “I don’t think them drunk driving would be a good idea. Please, Farrah, I will owe you one,” I added in my sweetest tone.

Farrah fell silent on the other end, and I thought she had hung-up or fell back asleep.

“Fine, I will be there soon, but if I get caught and grounded it is your fault,” She said, annoyed, “Are you at the same place I dropped you off?” She added.

“Yes,” I said, smirking to myself.

“Fine, see you soon,” She said, hanging up.

I think Farrah was going to be putty in my hands in no time, and that works out fine for me. It would make it easier for me to get what I want. It will make it easier for me to corrupt the good girl, even just a little. I messed around with my phone until she got here. I am not sure where she stays, which means I don’t know how long she will be. I sat my ass down on the pavement, waiting for her.

About ten minutes later, I hear a car coming in my direction and then saw the headlights. I got to my feet and was glad when the car pulled in, and I realised it was Farrah. That was quicker than I expected; she must not stay too far from here. I climbed into the passengers’ seat and turned to her.

“Hey, Princess, thanks for doing this,” I smiled.

Farrah never looked too please as she turned to look at me.

“Do not Princess me right now,” She said.

Oh, she has a feisty side. I like it.

“What did you want me to do? Sleep in the park?” I pouted.

“Of course not, but I am sure you could have got someone else to pick you up,” She said, shaking her head.

I reached over, placing my hand on her knee.

“Did you ever think, maybe I just used it as an excuse to you, baby girl?” I said, smirking.

“No, because that wasn’t it at all,” She said, “You only called me because you had no one else so do not try and bullshit me, Asher,” She added, rolling her eyes.

I found something funny about hearing her swearing. I do not know why, maybe because I don’t think she tends to do it often.

“Remind me never to disturb you when you are sleeping. You get cranky it would seem,” I said.

“Do you want to walk home?” She snarled at me.

“If I did, I wouldn’t have called,” I said, sarcastically.

She sent a death glare my way and started the car. I told her my address, and she got on her way, not talking to me unless she needed to know where to go next. I kept my mouth shut, not wanting to push her. I am a little scared of her now. I think if I say the wrong thing, she may punch me.

The silence was between us for the rest of the ride, until we pulled up outside of my house. The house was in darkness. My Grandma would be sleeping. She always went to bed at about ten.

“I am sorry I woke you up,” I said.

“I am sorry I have been acting like a bitch,” She said, looking at me.

“No, it is OK, though I never expected you to have such a feisty side,” I laughed, “I am guessing your parents never caught you?” I added.

“If they did, I wouldn’t be here,” She laughed.

“That is true,” I said, “You want to come in for a bit?” I added.

“No, it is late enough, I need to get home,” She said, “Do you need a ride to school in the morning?” She added.

“Yeah, sure, if it isn’t any bother,” I said.

“Not at all, I only stay a couple of streets away,” She said.

Hmm, I wonder what street she stays in. I will need to find out because I could use that to my advantage having her that close.

“Then thank you,” I smiled.

I wanted to reach over and press my lips to hers and see how she would respond, but I think it is too soon for that. I will wait a little while for that. I don’t want to push too soon and make her back away from me because then my entire plan would be fucked!

“Goodnight, Farrah, and thank you,” I said, kissing her cheek.

“No, bother just don’t make a habit of it,” She giggled, her cheeks heating up when she did.

“I will try not to,” I said smirking, “Are you sure you don’t want to come in for a bit?” I added.

“Positive, goodnight, Asher,” She smiled.

I headed out of the car, telling her to text me when she got home. I made my way inside, making sure to be quiet because I never wanted to make my Grandma. Yes, I was an asshole to the rest of the world, but not to my Grandma, that woman was the most beautiful soul you would ever meet. Even with everything I do, she still doesn’t judge me and would do anything for me. I loved her very much. I find it hard to believe that my so-called father has the same blood as my Grandma. He was a disgusting human being, and he gave my Grandma hell. I was glad when he disappeared because the way he acted towards her was horrible. We were both better without them.

I got to my room, stripping down and climbed into bed. The moment I laid down, my phone went with a text.

Farrah: Hey, that is me home. I will see you tomorrow. Goodnight X

Hmm, a kiss, that is something. I smiled and texted her back.

Asher: Glad you got home safe. Goodnight, beautiful. See you tomorrow X

She never texts back after that, and I just left it. I would see her in the morning, anyway. I can continue with my plan tomorrow.
