You May Kiss The Bride

Micah’s face stiffened as he saw Renya walk out of the car holding her brother’s hand,

Most of the guests had already left and only the family was sitting by the tables beside the aisle. Her stepmother and step-sister stared at her with surprise and her father heaved a sigh of relief when he saw her walk into the light.

“What happened? Was everything okay?”

Helena, her stepmother, walked closer to her and showed fake sympathy but Renya didn’t answer and stared blankly at her.

“There is nothing to worry about, she is alright now.” Grayson cleared up the confusion in everyone’s mind and walked her closer to the altar.

Micah’s gaze was unforgivingly ruthless.

When Grayson gave Renya’s hand into Michah’s reluctant grasp he felt a cold shiver run through his bones, he was having a bad feeling about this, but it was too late for him to stop the wedding.

As they stood facing each other with utter disgust, Emerald, Micah’s mother walked in and calmed the situation by tenderly stroking her fingers on Renya’s face.

“Let’s start the ceremony,” she spoke sweetly as she glanced at Micah.

There was a deep silence when the guy in the black suit began to speak.

“Now I will recite the vows,”

He opened a piece of paper and cleared his throat before reading it out loud.

“I choose you and promise to choose you as my wife every day we wake. I will love you in word and deed. I will laugh with you, cry with you, scream with you, grow with you, and craft with you. To be your kin and your partner in all of life's,. Loving what I know of you and trusting what I don't yet know, I give you my hand. I give you my love. I give you myself, the good, the bad, and the yet to come, So do you take me Micah Luis as your husband?”

The man in a black suit recited those words which were directed towards Renya,

“I—I do,”

“I choose you and promise to choose you as my husband every day we wake. I will love you in word and deed. I will laugh with you, cry with you, scream with you, grow with you, and craft with you. To be your kin and your partner in all of life's. Loving what I know of you and trusting what I don't yet know, I give you my hand. I give you my love. I give you myself, the good, the bad, and the yet to come, so do you take me, Renya Scott as your wife?”

The same words now were directed towards Micah,

“I do,” his voice was grave and cold that brought shivers to everyone in the ceremony had no effect on Renya, she stood lifelessly staring at the guy before her.

“Now you May exchange the rings,”

The bridesmaids stepped forward and brought a pink cushion on which two small velvet boxes were placed, Renya picked the box and took out the silvery ring. The shine of the ring reflected in her eyes as a tear rolled into her eye, she slowly took Micah's hand and pushed it into his ring finger. Micah too gave her the ring half heartedly , there was an applause at this,

Everything at the wedding looked like a huge mistake but everyone seemed to be ignoring it,

“I now pronounce you Man and Wife, Now You May Kiss The Bride,”

“You May Kiss The Bride,”

Those that rang in her head like a warning bell might have been the most lovely words for her in the past, but they turned into a nightmare when she heard them, a deep saddening pain arose in her heart, that caused her to close her eyes tightly. The tears that were on the bridge of her eyes escaped the boundary and they rolled down her cheek.

She could feel the body before her closer up to hers, she dared not open her eyes and witness the horror, she pressed her lips as she felt his warm breath fall on her lips.

The grip around her waist tightened, which made her freeze up like iced sculpture.

“Did you really think I would kiss you?” The cold voice whispered close to her, causing her to open her eyes in shock, his dark deadly eyes glared into her big clear eye. She blinked a few times causing her long lashes which were wet because of her tear to flutter beautifully.

For the onlookers it seemed like a kiss, but only Him and Renya knew the truth.

“Simba! Simba? Are you ignoring me?” Eryna stood in a white gown before him, but he kept on staring at his game.

“Hm…” he nodded.

“Okay fine, I too will just ignore you as I walk the aisle with Mark, he too proposed to me, Remember?”

Eryna walked away from in front of Simba and mumbled under her breath.

“Mark? Who is he?”

Simba threw away the controller and jumped out of the couch with a jealous expression, Eryna ignored him and took her cell phone close to her ear.

“Are you talking to me? Sorry but i can’t hear you.”

“Stop!stop! Stop!—okay I know I was wrong, it’s just so fun seeing you get mad at me. You look so pretty,” Simba ran close to Eryna and held her wrist to stop her from walking away,

“Hello! Yes Mark. It’s me Eryna, I thought about your proposal and I think—“

Simba’s face darkened as he say Eryna talk in a sweet tone to someone on the phone. He snatched the phone from her hand and spoke in an angry tone. While holding Eryna in hugging manner.

“Listen here, whoever you are, I am warning you stay away from my wife. Or I will teach you a lesson, you will never forget—“

“Simba what are you talking about? Give back the phone to Eryna,”

Simba knitted his eyebrows as he heard the familiar voice.

“Hunter? Why—“

“Pfft, fooled you,” Eryna giggled at Simba’s face that had turned red due to embarrassment.

“You little prankster,”

Simba hugged her tightly and stared into her eyes with a warm and affection gaze.

“I will walk the aisle only for you,” Eryna hurried her face into his warm hoodie and snuggled.

Under the glassy chandelier stood Eryna with a beautiful gown, her surrounding was loaded with flowers. Simba was by her side and they were smiling brightly while looking in each other’s eyes.

-“I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen you patient and frayed. I will strive to not take you for granted. You are my favorite person, and I choose you to be my partner in life. I vow to take you as my wife. My heart is yours until it’s last beat, Until my last breath you will be the one for me, will you exchange your heart for mine? “

Simba kneeled before Eryna with a red velvet box in his hand, His handsome face was smiling warmly at Eryna.

“I do, I do with all my heart.”

“Ha,”

A sarcastic cold laugh interrupted Eryna’s beautiful memories, she shifted her gaze towards Micah who was sitting just a few inches away from her in the back seat of his car.

Eryna blankly stared at him, as if wanting to know the reason for his laugh,

“You make me feel disgusted,” he spat those hateful words at Eryna, who was oblivious of his thoughts.

The car stopped and without wasting another second Micah got off the car, Eryna felt like he was avoiding her like a plague.

“Sigh, what have I gotten myself into,”

Eryna glanced at her phone and knitted her eyebrows.

‘Click—

The door of the car opened from the outside, and cold wind struck Eryna’s naked shoulder.

“Miss, hurry inside or you might catch a cold.”

An old butler spoke with respect, Eryna stared at him for a few seconds before getting out.

“Thanks,”

“I will lead you to your room,”

He took the lead and walked towards the huge castle-like mansion. The heavy wooden doors were pushed open by men in black, She stepped in, on a deep navy blue marbled floor that almost looked like an ocean.

“Miss this way,” the butler turned around when he noticed her stop walking.

“Hm…”

She stepped forwards and walked alongside the butler, he walked her up the flights and they arrived at the second floor, where the butler stopped before a door and gestured to her to walk in.

“Is this my room?”

Eryna asked.

“Yes— most probably.” The words he uttered after a pause were unaudable. Eryna lightly smiled,

‘Sigh, what should I do now?’

Eryna’s face dropped as the butler stood right in front of her waiting for her to enter.

“You can leave now and get busy, I will go inside soon.” Eryna gave out a forceful smile.

“Yes!” The butler said lightly.

“Why isn’t she calling? It has almost been four hours.” Her desperate voice was almost like a cry. She was waiting for a call.
