The Ceremony - Part 2
~Alexiana's POV~
I followed my dad towards this old looking shed in the North West area of the pack territory. It looked like nobody used it or even knew that it was here; I sure as hell did not know this shed was here.
Upon on our arrival to this old, run down looking shed, the door had a padlock on it.
I was about to tell my dad to let us turn around to go back, but I stopped and saw my dad pull out an old grey color key from his pocket.
Now I am starting to get suspicious, like what the fuck is going on.
I saw my dad unlocked the padlock, opening the door, and taking the lock inside with him; he told me to come inside, close the door quietly and I did.
He turned the light on and motioned for me to sit on this old wooden chair; I was skeptical about the chair because I did not know if it was going to collapse under me after sitting on it.
My dad looked at me and reassured me that the chair is not going to break; I walked to the chair, slowly sat on it and got comfortable after confirming it will not collapse.
I guess my dad was right the chair did not break.
I let out a big breath that I was not aware I was holding for that long.
I then, heard my dad clear his throat and said, "Alexiana, what I'm about to tell you, you CAN NOT repeat to anybody; not your mother, your best friends and anybody you know." My dad said seriously. WAIT! My dad did not mention anything about Carson. DOES CARSON KNOW WHAT WAS GOING ON THIS ENTIRE TIME?
"Alexiana, I need you to promise me not to tell anybody!" My dad gave me a stern look.
"I promise."
"Good!" My dad paused and took a deep breath before speaking.
"Alexiana, I am very sick." I looked at my dad confused.
What does he mean he is sick? He does not look sick at all, unless he is taking some kind of medication to help him not look and feel sick. Nevertheless, if he is sick, how long has he been sick? Does anybody else know that my dad is sick?
"H-how long have y-you been sick?" I asked nervously. Honestly, I really do not know if I am ready for the truth, but I do need to know.
"I've been sick for three months." I gasped. Three months? MY DAD HAS BEEN SICK FOR THREE FUCKING MONTHS? HOW DID I NOT NOTICE HE HAS BEEN SICK IN THE FIRST PLACE? WAIT! NO, IT CANNOT BE! THERE IS NO WAY! However, I need to know what EXACTLY happened.
"Dad, what exactly happened?" I asked.
"Three months ago, the last week of the month, I was starting to experience cold like symptoms; however, I remembered that us wolves do not get sick like the regular humans do.
The symptoms I experienced first was nausea, cold sweats, stomach pains and vomiting.
By the time the third week of the second month came around, I started to get even sicker than I already was and I was vomiting more than before with my stomach pains increasing and agonizing.
Another thing I noticed at that time, there was blood mixed with my vomit." I was about to interrupt my dad to say something, but he beat me to it.
"I know Lexi, you want to know how I am not in agonizing pain right now, right?" I nodded my head and did not say anything else; I was not going to interrupt my dad until he is done with his explanation.
"The beginning week of the third month, I was in Alpha Gregory's office when the pain in my stomach started again and it was excruciating.
Gregory asked if I was all right and what was wrong; he had to use his Alpha voice to get me to tell him what was wrong because he has never seen me sick nor in pain.
After telling him what I was feeling, I made him promise not to tell your mother and Carson.
Before you ask, yes Carson knows; I told him about my sickness last month.
So, he finally agreed to keep quiet, but he insisted to take me to the pack doctor." I could feel my heart pounding in my chest, not believe what my dad is telling me; I am in shock and there is no words I could use to formulate on how I am feeling. Well, except for the fact that my cheeks and neck is wet from my tears.
I was out of my state of shock by my dad's rough hands on both sides of my face.
"Lexi, are you okay? Do you want me to stop" Asked my dad with a sad look on face, but held a small smile for me.
Looking at my dad closely, I noticed his skin is pale; his eyes are sunken in a bit and dark.
The color of his eyes is dull and looks like there is hardly any life left to it.
"Lexi?" Called my dad, bringing me out of my reverie.
I took a deep breath, telling my dad that I am fine and for him to continue.
"Are you sure?" Asked my dad and I said yes; he nodded his head okay and continued.
"When Alpha Gregory and I arrived to one of the private rooms at the pack hospital, I told the doctor what was going on; the doctor drew my blood and ran some test.
About an hour later, the doctor came back into the room with the test results and it was not what Gregory nor I expected; the doctor said that all my body organs are slowly deteriorating and it is an unknown poison that caused this.
He said that he has not seen any type of poison like this before and mind you, he knows all types, but not this one.
The doctor also said if somebody keeps on poisoning me, at this rate, I would have two months to live; the only thing that is keeping my pain at bay is the special herbs the doctor gave me.
However, even with the herbs, I could still feel some sort of pain, but not as bad as before without it."
I stood up from the chair, walking to my dad and hugged him very tight while sobbing into his chest. My dad wrapped his arms around me, hugging me back.
I can't lose my dad, I just can't; my dad makes me feel safe.
Does not matter how big or small the situation is, my dad is always there when I need him.
He is the best dad a daughter could ever ask for.
I was crying into my dad's chest, when realization hit me hard; someone, in this pack, is poisoning my dad.
My body temperature is rising with pure anger coursing through my entire body.
I could feel my dad slightly shaking me and talking to me to try to get me to calm down, but I could not hear him.
My anger would not let me calm down; it was consuming every single rational thoughts. All I wanted to do is find the person and rip him to shreds for their traitorous act.
"ALEXIANA!" Yelled my dad, bringing me back to reality.
"Alexiana, what is going on? Why are you so enraged, all of sudden?" Asked my dad with worry laced in voice.
"Dad, we have a traitor amongst this pack."
Whoever is poisoning my dad, will pay dearly for their life.
I will make them reap what they sow!
