Chapter 1

Pierce Sinclaire's P.O.V.

I sigh as Paul and Joey enter my office.

"Pierce," Joey says "Are you going to tell us what was in those files that the Head Doctor gave you?"

"No," I explain "Not until I know for sure that that is what we're dealing with. And if it what I think it is, we are screwed because there's no stopping it until we find a special certain she-wolf that hasn't been born in a thousand years since the extinction of this species of werewolf."

"Oh sweet holy muffins," Paul says "Are you telling me what I think you're telling me?"

"Yes," I say "I am."

"Well," Paul exclaims "We might as well cancel the trips to find our mates, call of all pack warriors, and just sit in the middle of the territory with the gates wide open."

"Paul," Joey questions "What in the sweet moon did you drink, smoke or take this morning?"

"Death," Paul states seriously "I drank death."

Joey and I stare at him before Joey slowly looks at me.

"I don't know," I say "Don't look at me. His sister probably made the coffee in the Beta house, that may be what he's talking about. You know Maya's coffee does taste like rotted soil."

"Hey," Maya says, pouting "Pierce, I thought you liked my coffee."

"No," I deny, shaking my head "I like the reaction people give when they taste it."

Maya sulks, sitting down in a chair and huffing.

"So," Paul says "What are we going to do if that is the case?"

"All we can do is try to trap it," I say "Or guide it away. But it will always come back until it gets what it's searching for. And there's no telling what it's searching for."

"Son of a biscuit," Paul says "So, we're screwed unless we find what it's searching for and eliminate it."

"Yes," I say "But if we eliminate it, there's a high chance that it will kill, not only us, but every pack, coven, and clan within distance of us."

Paul sighs, running his hand through his hair.

"Wait," Maya says "What? What is it?"

"Nothing," I say, patting Maya's blonde head "Don't you worry. Why don't you go find your mirrorsister?"

"Mara's in the kitchen," Maya says, rolling her eyes "She's making cookies. I guess I'll go eat the dough."

Maya skips out of my office and down the steps, yelling out for her sister to save her some raw cookie dough to eat. Mara yells back that Maya's not going to eat all the cookie dough and leave none left for the actual cookies.

"I swear," Paul says "I can't believe those two are my sisters."

"Yeah," Joey says "They're interesting."

Paul growls at Joey for mocking him. I sigh as the two begin to argue again.

Jinx Willow's P.O.V.

I scrub my body and step out of the cold shower, quickly getting dressed in the baggy black sweats and black fitted tank top. I slip on my black vans and walk downstairs, grabbing a warm water bottle because I'm not allowed the cold water. It's been two days since I last seen the Beta, who has been busy out of the pack on business, leaving me time to heal from his last encounter. The bruising on my legs, hips and back hasn't faded and are still awfully bright but there's no way that I can control that I can't shift yet, nor that I can't heal. I can't even control my own death. I've tried overdosing, I've tried every method and every single time, I survive it. I've even tried jumping off of a cliff down onto rocks below. I remember waking up three days later with only scratches. Boy, did Alpha beat me for disappearing. I take my warm bottled water and retreat to my attic room, sitting on the makeshift bed of old blankets and clothes that no longer fit, curling into a ball as I think.

Three more days. Three more days and I can leave this pack. Three more days and I'll be eighteen and I can go find my mate. Three more days until someone will love me.

"Moon Goddess," I whisper to myself and the full moon that shines brightly through the cloudy window "Please...give me a mate who will love me..."

Pierce Sinclaire's P.O.V.

My wolf paces in the back of my head, aggravating me further.

Cane, calm down, would you? You're making me restless.

Sorry, human, mates birthday is getting closer. I can feel her presence more. Soon, we shall be able to connect with our sweet love.

I roll my eyes at my wolf, shaking my head.

Cane, you may want her, but I don't.

Cane growls in response and cuts off the link after calling me a heartless human who thinks nothing of his wolf's feelings. I sigh at my overdramatic wolf and sit back in my office chair, staring out the window.

"Moon Goddess," I whisper "Please...don't let me meet her yet...not right now."

Mystery's P.O.V.

I scoff.

"You imbecile," I exclaim at the ball once he asks the Moon Goddess not to meet my lovely "I will make you suffer through the reigns of Hell for rejecting my love. You will beg me for mercy before I snatch your soul. How dare you decline a gift from the Moon Goddess, such a sacred gift as my love?! You will suffer..."

I twirl my fingers, my eyes softening as they land on the curled up trembling form of my dark haired beauty.

"There you are," I whisper "Soon, my love, soon you will begin to understand just how truly special you are. You will be such an amazing creature...the first of your kind..."

I trail my long nail along the glass, sighing sadly before snapping my fingers. My eyes lift as my blonde minion enters.

"Master," She says "They do not know what you are or what is coming. They are clueless."

"Good," I whisper "Soon...the plan will be in motion."

I laugh, swirling my finger in the potion.

Wow, okay, what's going on here? What kind of creature is this mystery dark haired girl? Again, who is this mystery point of view? Who is his or her blonde minion? Why doesn't Pierce want his mate yet? Why can't anything kill Jinx?
