Chapter 4

"How is this supposed to work though?" Sara questioned as she and Avril found their seats on the plane.

"What?" Avril questioned as she plopped down, Sara taking the window seat next to her. She was elated. To elated and full of positive energy that her senses were having trouble picking up external influences. She was going to the college she wanted, of course, classes weren't scheduled to begin for another month but she was excited.

"How are you going to find the house you're supposed to stay in?" Sara questioned as she wiggled in her seat to get comfortable.

"There is supposed to be someone picking me up at the airport," Avril answered. She didn't want to think about her boring life staying in some man's house, she was content for the while to be in the company of one of her friends.

"Oh, well let's just enjoy now besides we will be hitting the clubs once we're there okay?" Sara was enthusiastic.

"Uh...I am all for hanging out but can we skip the clubs?" Avril questioned, her face contorting. She wasn't into that sort of life. It made her uncomfortable and she just knew her parents would ground her for life if they were to ever find out.

"Ugh, okay. But only because you don't like it but can we at least go bar hopping?" Sara pleaded and Avril agreed. Alcohol on the other hand was a must in her life and something told her that her uninteresting life at her so-called home for school would call for some intense drinking sessions with her friends.

"You know what I really want to try?" Sara questioned and Avril negated by way of a head shake.

"A blow job," Sara responded her words a visible sigh.

"Sara!" Avril chastised, looking around since Sara's words were loud, sending numerous curious glances their way.

It's the name of an alcoholic shot!" She defended as she realized people were staring.

An older couple of around sixty looked at the two girls disdainfully, turning their gazes away muttering something about the filth of the current generation. Avril and Sara looked at each other, hands flying to cover their lips as they snickered uncontrollably.

I didn't know there was a blow job shot," Avril revealed, her voice lowering so that only Sara could hear her.

"There is, it looks awesome! We need to try it." Sara commanded.

Avril broke out in a fit of laughter, involuntarily shaking her head from side to side. "We shall."

Thomas splashed water on his face to drive away the remnants of sleep that were tempting him back into his bed. That was not an option, as much as he loved to sleep in he had to get going, or else his companion from last night may get the wrong impression. He made it a rule not to linger too long with the women he used to relieve his tension. After all, he had no desire for them after they fulfilled their purpose. It felt as if he had been sleeping with one woman for years even though it would be the first time he was with them. He was bored easily and sated by a woman's body easily so he always needed someone new.

He grabbed hold of his jacket, draped it across his shoulder, wrote an unemotional note, and left it on the pillow next to the sleeping woman. He took his time leaving the hotel after all his next stop was home for some unrequested R&R. He hadn't a clue what he was expected to do at home, releasing an exasperated sigh he continued driving, hoping that soon enough a situation will arise in which he would find himself back into the field.

The car pulled up in front of a two-story house...no, mansion was the best way to describe the structure of this gigantic building. Avril rose her eyebrows. "Uh are you sure this is the right place?" She questioned the driver. At the airport, her father's friend had hired a driver to bring her to the home she would be occupying but now that she looked out the window she wasn't certain if this was the house she was due in.

"I am sure." The driver chuckled at her horrified expression. The house...no. the mansion wasn't what she expected...at all. She expected...okay, maybe she didn't know what exactly she expected but this certainly wasn't it. This place looked like it was straight out of an architectural magazine. She didn't even want to think about the hugeness of the grounds, she had a feeling she could easily get lost here.

Through her confusion and wondering again what occupation could this 'friend' possibly be involved in and how exactly did her father know him, she hadn't noticed when the driver exited the car and pulled her bags out of the back. He held the door open for her; awestruck, Avril exited slowly, her eyes glued to the mammoth building as she followed the driver to the front door. Once he paused to signal the doorbell, Avril spun around and drank in the view.

"Your guest is here." The voice of the driver was faint and fading even more as Avril closed her eyes to the sweet wind dancing across her cheek.

"Ms. Stock?" Avril spun around rapidly and plastered a genuine smile onto her features.

"Just Avril, if you please." She responded.

"Of course, Avril." The woman responded lightly, her features calm and trusting. "Let's get you inside." She extended her hands and led Avril in.

The door closed behind them and the woman smiled. "I am Trish. I generally run the household." She informed.

"Oh, nice to meet you," Avril interjected and the woman smiled. "I believe the pleasure is certainly all mine." Trish said.

"Let me show you to your room, you must be exhausted." She led Avril upstairs. The house was larger than anticipated and Avril wondered if the family was a big one.

"Is the family out?" She questioned as she followed, her mind drinking in every intoxicating image.

"Currently, they don't spend a lot of time at home," Trish revealed.

"Oh? How big is the family?" Avril grew more curious by the second. Who builds such a beautiful home only to spend time away from it?

"Not at all!" Trish exclaimed. "It's just Mr. Lynne and his son." She paused in front of a door, pulled out a key from her pocket, and opened the door. As it swung open, Avril gasped. The room was huge but its decoration wasn't garish, it was quite neutral. The colour scheme bringing about a look that told more of sophistication. Trish held out her hand to Avril, dropping the key to the door into her palm. "It's yours while you stay here." She elaborated.

"Okay." She responded and Trish looked at her skeptically.

"Anything wrong?" It was her turn to question Avril.

"No, it's just I find it a bit strange, I mean I got the okay to stay here but the host isn't even around, despite the fact that I have never even heard of him before." She answered honestly and Trish shook her head in agreement.

"Trust me, when you have known this family as long as I have nothing really surprises you. Get some rest, I will have your bags sent up." She patted Avril's hand. "If you're hungry, come on down I will prepare a snack for you." And with those parting words, Trish left.

Avril dropped atop of the bed, her legs still dangling off as she sighed. She positioned her arms above her head and stared blindly at the ceiling. She forced herself off her bed as a knock sounded. Heading to the door she pulled it open to find her luggage resting soundly outside the door, she pulled them in and closed the door.

Not knowing what to do, she pulled out her cell and texted Sara, letting her know she had arrived at her destination and relating that she was indeed fine. She began exploring the room. She pulled open the bathroom and her eyes widened as she saw a bathtub, the instant urge to take a relaxing bath washed over her but she decided against it, instead, she decided to shower.
