Room 301
Veera didn’t remember how she pretended to be calm and how she ran back to the hotel. She never felt panicked like this. She walked back and forth in her room. Her heart beat so fast as if it’s going to jump out of her chest.
He’s the killer.
How was it possible?! Why was he in Hawaii?!
Was he looking for her? Or could it be a coincidence?
Her brain ran fast, trying to find a reason justify his appearance here.
Of course that’s just a coincidence. He’s rich and powerful. I mean all these people love sun and beaches. It’s usual that they are in Hawaii at this season.
Be cool, Veera. This could be just a case of mistaken identity. There could be hundreds of people named Ares Cascatas out there. If he’s the killer, he should kill you right away. Why he smiled to you?
Bullshit!
Take the truth, you stupid girl.
Veera looked at her screen in despair. She was deadly stupid. His image on WIKI looked exactly the same as the one she was with an hour ago. He’s breathtaking, even in profile pictures.
Everything about him was written here. It clearly stated how many people he had killed, how powerful his mafia kingdom was and how many women he had affairs with.
*I’m an idiot! *
Veera wanted to kill herself by the fact that she even daydreamed about him.
So why was him here? Veera remembered he said he was about to meet some guests in the hut yesterday. He had a business in Hawaii?
There’s no time to waste. She don’t want to do anything wrong again. Whatever he planned to do here, it’s none of her business. She should go, right away.
“Now, calm down. That’s what you going to do. Pack your bag, check out and head straight towards airport.” Veera whispered to herself. Her hands were shaking.
Veera quickly locked her baffle bag. She wrote a short letter explaining her leave for Aunt Rita and Emerald. Despite the emergency, she lied, saying she forgot an important appointment. She didn’t want them to worry about her and she would never risk any of them or put them in dangerous cases. Making sure everything was ready, she reached out to her pocket…
Wait! Where’s my wallet?!
Veera felt a chill down towards her spine. She DID kept it here yesterday.
Panicking, she opened her bag and looked over all drawers in the room. Nothing. Where could she go without money and cards?
Suddenly, a message came through her phone. She saw a text with a picture appeared on the screen.
Unknown: Looking for this? The attachment was a picture of her wallet.
Her heart beat raced. Someone stole her wallet. She checked the number but didn’t found any records. It’s from a new private number.
Veera looked around the room and gulped. The lock was not broken and any other things were just in the place where they should be.
Veera took a deep breath and replied.
Veera: Who are you?
Unknown: Come to 301. You will find it out.
Veera: I'm going NOWHERE. Why the hell should she listen to him?
Then another picture came through, leaving Veera in shock.
Unknown: Your Aunt Rita is waiting.
God. He got Aunt Rita! Veera held the phone tightly in fury. What kind of an asshole would kidnap her only relative to threaten her?
Veera: Don't you dare hurt her!
Unknown: Of course I won't baby. I wouldn't do anything to upset you.
Then the asshole sent her another picture of Emerald who was at the pool, laughing as she played with a ball with one of the models.
Unknown: I won't harm your friend either. I’m patient but my men are not. If you don't come here within fifteen minutes, I couldn’t promise anything.
Shit!
Knowing this was a trap, Veera had no choice. Her Aunt was drugged in a stranger’s room and her friends’ lives were at stake. She had no choice but to go to Room 301.
Veera grabbed her pepper spray and walked out her room. She wished she had something more useful, like a bat or a knife to at least try and attack the asshole. Her heart raced as she couldn’t imagine who the person was. Or she didn’t want to think about it. Whomever it is, she must be cautious. She MUST save Aunt Rita.
Veera walked fast in the empty hallway, but as she turned the corner, she rushed into another person.
“Aww!” The person yelped.
“S…sorry!” Veera apologized and looked up to check if the person was alright.
Then she found it’s someone she loathed.
"Little Veera? Is that you?"
It’s Jason, Aunt Rita’s perverted boyfriend. Veera hated him. She hated how he looked at her and the fact he tried to take advantage of her every minutes when Aunt Rita was not there. Jason had been her nightmare for a long time. And if it’s not him, she didn’t have to stay in the library every night until late hours just to avoid him. And then she wouldn’t meet that werewolf on that night five years ago…
"What are you doing here?" He tried to give her a hug showing his disgusting smile.
“What are you doing here?” Veera questioned back and kept a distance with him. Why was Jason here? Did Aunt Rita invited him?
"Why are you so cold to me?" Jason stepped closer, trying to catch her.
His movement creeped her out, making her recall her worst memories before she moved out Aunt’s house. She remember those days when she locked herself in the room, terrified with his knocking and shouting.
“I need to go.” Veera stepped back.
"Oh c'mon, give Uncle Jason a hug sweet heart. Remember? Who bailed you out when someone planted the pot of weed in your locker?" He got in her way.
"Yes, and I thanked you for that. But I gonna go." It’s so disgusting to say thank you to such a bastard but she didn’t want to waste time.
"Don't you think I deserve a hug sweetheart?" Jason's eyes raked down her body loving what she was wearing. He spread his arms and was about to touch her.
Veera just wanted to run away but he grabbed her wrist and pull her closer.
"No—" She screamed out of fear.
“You little slut! Just like your Aunt. Ungrateful!” He tightened his grab, “You guys wanted to dump me? No way. There’s no way you would escape from me. So I’m here.”
His face was so close that made Veera turned hers away in disgust.
“Good girl. Give me a kiss and I will forgive you.” He whispered very lustfully. His lips pressed on her cheek.
No!
Veera's quickly pulled out her pepper spray and pointed at his eyes. Jason growled out of pain and let go of her hand. "You bitch!!"
Veera quickly ran away. She didn’t even look back to check if Jason was chasing her. She’s too scared.
Finally, she stood outside Room 301. She looked at the number, took a deep breath and held pepper spray tightly behind her back.
She knocked the door.
No answer.
She knocked again.
No reply.
Her eyes blurred. Tears ran down her face. It’s late. She must be late. It’s all her fault.
“BITCH!!!”
She suddenly heard Jason’s voice. Turning around her head in horror, she saw he came with his red eyes burning in flame.
Before she took out her spray, he slapped her face heavily. Pulling her hair, he grabbed her neck.
“How DARE you!” That pervert was furious
Veera wanted to call help but she couldn’t say a word. She was about to be choked.
I haven’t even found my love. Maybe that’s it. That’s my redemption for saving a bad guy.
Before she closed her eyes and stopped struggling, she heard a thump.
She fell down to the floor, coughing. Everything happened so quickly. She didn’t know how Jason was kicked away, crouching and whining in pain.
There’s a familiar figure standing there, leaving her his back. He walked towards Jason, grabbed his neck and lifted him up.
The grip was so strong. Veera noticed his hand was becoming hairy and she saw paws growing.
Werewolf
“Who are you!!” She shouted out.
Hearing her voice, he stopped and let go of his grip. He turned around to face Veera. But he still stood in shadow and with the distance, she couldn’t clearly saw him.
“Show yourself!”
Then he stepped towards her. His beautiful tattoo shining under the chandelier’s light.
“Hello, Veera.”
Ares walked to her closely, not touching her or grabbing her at all. He just stood there and watched her carefully.
“Did you get hurt?” Ares asked softly.
“Don’t pretend!” Veera pissed out, holding her spray in tight, “where’s my Aunt?”
Ares raised his eyebrows, amused. “She’s sleeping.” He looked at the door, “you can have a check later if you want to.”
“But now, let her sleep.” He walked even closer, staring at her with his glowing blue eyes. He raised his hand, wanting to hold her face.
Veera looked at him angrily and sprayed the spray directly in his eyes.
Ares took in the burning spray without a blink. The spray finished out quickly. Veera panicked to shake it. Run up completely.
Ares took the bottle and threw it on the floor without breaking eye contact with her. Veera looked freaked out at him.
"Pepper spray does not work on Were’s eyes." He sounds amused, "Next time if you want to hurt me, use Fairy dust."
Ares blew a mysterious golden dust on her and watched as Veera inhaled it.
Veera rolled her eyes, "stop talking about the bullsh—"
Her eyes fluttered before she finished her sentence. Her legs felt like jelly.
What the hell did he do to me?! Fighting to turn on her heel, Veera was suddenly caught by the waist.
"Don't fight this, Veera, you need good rest."
If she could cuss at him, Veera would tell him to fuck off. But she shook her head at him, almost in a drunk state of manner and laughed at him at the same time, as if she was tickled.
"You're not going to...get..away...with...mee.." Veera's body went backwards, as sleep took over her. He quickly picked her up in bridal style and walked in the room with a smirk playing on his lips.
A few guards was waiting in the room and they bowed when Ares entered.
Before Ares put Veera on the bed, he caught on to a different scent coming from her cheek.
"Did he touch her?" It’s not a question but more like a statement. Ares glared at the shaking man and growled out of fury
