Chapter 7
Mason's pov
It is the time of their mission. Aria must be on her way to the castle dungeons. Ethan and I will be going to meet them later but, I don't know why do I feel anxious. It is like something is going to happen when they will be in the castle.
"Are you okay?" Ethan enquired. He might have noticed the storm of thoughts in my mind.
"I am fine, just worried about the mission Aria and Blair are doing today. I feel like something is going to happen when they will be there."
"You don't have to worry about that, we will feel it if anything isn't right." He spoke in an attempt to soothe me.
"Yeah, I know but I still can't get it off my mind."
"Let's get back to work, it will divert your mind for the time being." He suggested.
"Sure, I guess."
We got working, It did help me forget about it for some time. Suddenly, we sensed some aura overpowering them. They weren't able to move, I and Ethan looked at each other at the same time conforming to the suspicion. Without a seconds delay, we teleported to the border where we usually meet. We had no choice but, to wait for them. We couldn't go there as it would be dangerous for our mates.
I was pacing the border when I sensed that Aria was angry, she was no longer paralyzed by the King's aura. Her anger was waking up the werewolf inside her. To the point where the power emanating from her was far more powerful than the King's. Her aura was spreading fast, Blair and granny need to get her away, or all of their lives would be in line.
Ethan and I glanced at each other with panic. I wanted to go there but, Ethan held me back. I knew he was right to do that otherwise, we would have an even greater problem at the hand. I was so focused on thinking about it that, I didn't notice Aria and Blair approaching the human territory as fast as they could. As soon as they got out of the underground way, I could see them rushing towards us.
As they reached the border area we ran to them. Blair handed Aria to me and hurried to Ethan. We went straight to the basement room without a moment's delay. I sat on the chair with Aria on my lap, she was holding me tightly as energy overflowed out of her body. I rubbed her back telling her to take a deep breath connecting with her mind. She might have felt secure as I was holding her. Little by little she calmed herself, the flow of power in her body came to halt. I still wanted her to be calm enough, so she could return to her usual self.
Minutes passed as I was feeling comfortable in my mate's company. I was so glad to see her safe and sound. She was in a state of alarm, as Blair and granny's expressions changed after looking at her. She knew that some power was coming out of her, it had surpassed King's power. Blair and granny wanted to take her away from that place as soon as possible. She knew all of these things and deeply worried about them.
When she was feeling alright, she raised her head and looked into my eyes kissing the top of my head. I felt myself calming down because of that, releasing her out of my embrace. She gazed around and finding familiar surroundings in the training room. She saw Ethan and Blair sitting opposite us calmly. She felt herself sitting on my lap and turned crimson, even her ears were turning a deep shade of red. She tried to get up but, I held her in place. Ethan and Blair were smiling at our actions making her even shyer.
"Are you well now Ari?" Blair asked her breaking the silence.
"Yes, I am fine, why do you ask?"
"You were angry because of the King's paralyzing presence, you should take some rest for now." She told her.
"I am sorry for getting furious, I will go and get some sleep, Ari said, feeling guilty about it."
"Mason, will you take her home? Blair asked me."
"Sure, I will just teleport us to her room, I told her."
I stood up carrying her in my arms, darkness engulfed us, when she opened her eyes we were in her room. I put her down supporting her to steady herself.
"Sit here I will be back in a few minutes. She said pointing at her bed, as she took her clothes and ran off to the bathroom."
I sat down on her bed waiting for her. I could hear the water running inside the bathroom, as she took a quick shower and got dressed. She tiptoed out and saw me sitting on the edge of her bed. She quickened her pace and got on the bed placing her head in my lap, admiring my blue eyes. I smirked at her reading her mind, playing with her long hair as she rested in my lap. The exhaustion immediately put her to sleep, I kissed her cheek admiring her sleeping peacefully.
I didn't want to leave her but, I had to. Blair had to discuss Aria's power outburst with me, It was equally important. I just went back there, Blair and Ethan were talking about Aria. They noticed I am back and asked me to take a seat.
"Is Aria asleep? Blair inquired about her."
" Yes, she is sleeping now."
" Let's get started then, she said." I and Ethan just nodded our heads for her to continue.
"Aria has been transforming into a hybrid, whenever the anger inside her rises. This is the second time that her power burst out. The first one wasn't this powerful, today's outburst held more power. It was even able to surpass the recent "Alpha Kings", in addition to that it was spreading fast. If granny hasn't taken the action at the very moment, we would have been caught and prisoned on the spot."
"We need to keep her safe until her 18th birthday, which will be in a month. It is also the reason her power is showing. We need to inform her parents about this, I declared."
"Yeah, I and granny have decided to go and meet Mr. and Mrs. Woods to inform them about this. We will do this tomorrow afternoon when she goes home from the field to get lunch. They have a hint about it, but it is better to tell them. We won't be always around her, I am sure that her parents will keep a close eye on her, Blair concluded."
She and Ethan had come to this decision. It was the only way we could deal with it for the time being. There will be difficult times from now on. She could turn into a vampire-werewolf on full moon night. It was a few days away and I was deeply worried. We will have to keep her as far away from everything on that day.
"I am fine with your decision but, you will have to keep her in hiding at the time of the full moon, I told her."
"I will take her to the underground tunnels, in that case, she told me."
With all the things decided, l and Ethan parted ways with Blair.
The only thing that I regret is, that we have to keep our distance from them. Aria is my mate but couldn't feel the pull, she will feel all that once she will be old enough. That day will come soon. For now, I have to focus on keeping her from getting angry, I can tell my presence is the second factor that is rising the hybrid. I can't be apart from her, it will be too painful for us. It's better to be with her. My dear Princess, I promise to keep you safe.
