Chapter 3 - I Will Play With You!

Lucas Lopez looked over and immediately recognised that it was the lady who had bumped into him earlier. As he examined her closely, he saw that she was carrying and wearing high-end branded goods from head to toe.

Haute couture dress worth millions? Limited edition branded bag and high heels? Extraordinary fine and rare diamonds?

Seems like she is just like any other girls who wants to marry me for my money and looks!

What a coincidence! What I, Lucas Lopez, hate the most are superficial and fake women like her, who naively believes that she would be able to lead a good life after getting married to me.

So she wants to be my, Lucas Lopez’s wife? Impossible! Lucas Lopez shook his head and sneered coldly as he stared straight into her face.

Since she wants to play with me, I will play with her till the end. I will make sure that she will heavily regret her decision to marry me for the rest of her life.

Lina Maria’s sixth sense told her that something was wrong as she saw Lucas Lopez smiling coldly at her. It seems like Lucas Lopez has changed over the years, and he doesn’t seem to like her anymore?

What should she do?

Since young, Gabriel had always doted on her and has never made any requests of her. She can’t possibly fall back on the promise she made with her father. She had to fulfil this last request from him no matter what, as a form of filial piety.

She has always remembered how well Lucas Lopez has treated her in high school. And she also vowed to only marry him. Was the love and gentleness towards her, all fake?

However, throughout these six years, due to age and puberty, Lina Maria’s looks have changed tremendously. She now has sharper facial features and better body shape, paired with a long black wavy hair. Not to mention previously in high school, she was wearing her big spectacles with much shorter hair, and looks completely opposite of how she is now.

Lina Maria then thought about it, and made a wild guess, “Perhaps he did not recognise me?”

Lina Maria bit her lips, as she secretly encouraged herself, “If that is the case, it is fine as well. Since he can fall in love with me for the first time, I will make him fall in love with me again for a second time!” “Wen Xin, you can do this!”

The long night has ended. Lina Maria and Gabriel returned back to their hotel room. Since it was a large suite, they naturally had their own private bedrooms.

After taking a bath, she lied on her bed as she slowly absorbed the events that had happened today.

Being able to meet Lucas Lopez was a bittersweet moment for her. She has never expected that this arranged marriage partner would be him, the boy that she had yearned for, day and night for the past six years.

She thought that it would be the same for him, but his cold and aloof attitude has completely thrown her off guard.

Just as Lina Maria was reminiscing about their relationship, she suddenly sat up and gasped, “Oh no!”

This morning, as she was in a hurry to pack for the hotel, she quickly threw everything she needed into her luggage.

She had an item that was very important to her and she would always bring it along with her wherever she go.

“I couldn’t have dropped it somewhere right?!”

Lina Maria quickly rummaged through her huge luggage. “Oh no, where did I put it?” “Is it in my side compartment? Is it in my small make up pouch?”

Soon, the entire luxurious hotel room was in a mess, with all her clothing and valuables lying around.

Just as she was about to feel dejected, the corner of her eye caught a green bracelet that was lying beneath the huge mess made by her clothing.

“Found it!” Lina Maria smiled excitedly.

She took out the bracelet and rubbed it gently, checking and ensuring that it is still in its original condition.

Usually she would take good care of the bracelet by keeping in her casual bag or pouch.

However, she was in a huge rush this morning and had no choice but to put everything in her luggage first and then pack it later at the hotel.

This was a couple bracelet that both Lina Maria and Lucas Lopez had made together during high school.

Her bracelet is in magenta purple while Lucas Lopez’s bracelet is in emerald green. They had also engraved their names on both of it.

She remembered how they had chanced upon this mini workshop while at a local night market, and decided to make one for themselves since it was popular amongst couples at that time.

They personally made the bracelet and did an exchange with each other after it was completed. They promised to protect it well.

“Wow! It’s so beautiful! I didn’t know that you have a talent in making bracelets!” Lina Maria generously praised Lucas Lopez.

“I think you are ready to start a jewellery business and make loads of money for me so that I can buy all my favourite snacks at the night market!” Lina Maria jokingly commented, with a wide smile.

“Silly girl... I will only make bracelets for you in this lifetime. In the future, I will definitely get you a better and bigger bracelet.” Lucas Lopez looked at Lina Maria with his gentle eyes, and reached out his fingers to lightly rub on Lina Maria’s head.

“Hehe pinky promise?” Lina Maria held out her last finger in the air and smiled cheekily.

Lucas Lopez stared at her small finger, and his smile subconsciously deepened. “I promise you!” He reached out his last finger and made a hook with hers.

Lucas Lopez held Lina Maria’s hand and left the stall.

They then went on to explore the rest of the night market and bought many local snacks to enjoy.

It was definitely a night to remember!

“Knock knock...” A light tapping sound on her room’s door interrupted Lina Maria’s thoughts.

“Dad, you are looking for me?”

“Did I disturb you? Are you free to chat for a while?” Gabriel smiled and said to Lina Maria.

“No dad, you did not disturb me! Come in!” Lina Maria then led Gabriel to a sitting area in her room.

Lina Maria and Gabriel have a close relationship and they would always find time to chat with each other.

On days when Gabriel has to go overseas for work, they would video call each other just to make sure that everything is fine.

“Dad, I’ll get a drink for you?”

“No need, I’m fine! Come, sit down, I have something to ask you.” Gabriel tapped lightly on the seat beside him.

“What is it? I’m not used to you looking at me so seriously.” Lina Maria chuckled as she sat down.

After a moment of hesitation, Gabriel asked Lina Maria, “What do you think of Shen Ze?”
