Chapter 4. Its Not a Party Without A Fight
Just as I thought this is not a good idea. Josh reaches a hand to me "would you like to dance with me, Raine?" I am not the type to be rude, so I shake my head yes. Josh is not a bad-looking guy at all. He has short brown hair, almost like a crew cut. Tall and muscular but not as muscular as Luca and Levi. That is what you would expect since they are Alpha blood, and he is not. My dad and mom once were not together; they were second chance mates, as a matter of fact. Florence is my biological mom, who met my stepdad, Bastien Sullivan, when I was a year old. My biological dad was killed in a rogue attack 19 years ago. I do not know much more other than that about my father's death. Not long after my biological dad's death, my mom found Bastien. The moon goddess had blessed my mother with a second chance mate, the Alpha of the Blue Blood pack. Bastien had two sons already, Luca and Levi. I have been told that their mother passed away giving birth to them. I was a year old, while they were five. After Florence and Bastien discovered that they were second chance mates, we all moved in together, and the next thing we know, my sister Mia was born two years later.
As I grew up, I had the best friends in the world. Luca and Levi were always there when I needed them. They were trouble makers too, always getting us all in trouble, just for a few minutes of fun. Growing up, my favorite thing to do was irritate them. I guess now I know why hitting on their guy friends upset and irritated them so much.
I felt a hand touch my lower back, the latex moving against my skin, and I snap back into reality. I had not even noticed me and Josh had started dancing, but the way his hand had moved down my back in such a manner made me have a sudden feeling of nauseousness and the urge to vomit. However, my feelings are short-lived as a hand comes between Josh and me, pushing us apart. None other than Luca Sullivan, who I had just abandoned as I was dragged away by Emma, and boy does he look pissed. "What the hell is your problem dude, we were just dancing?" Josh says, bewildered and the scene before him. Luca steps forward, looking even more angry as he practically growls out, "Should have kept your hands off of her ass!"
Josh looks stumped, shrugging.
"How could anyone keep their hands above her ass when she's wearing such a sexy dress."
My jaw drops, confused and outraged by what Josh had just said about me, better yet, my dress.
The next thing I know, Levi comes from the side, and all I see is a fist make contact with Josh's nose; I'm pretty positive breaking it.
"Nice hit, my turn," Luca responds, going to deliver a blow right into Josh. But, precisely as Luca delivers his blow, dad yells out.
"ENOUGH!" using his Alpha voice. Everyone except Luca and Levi stops and turns to stare at him, bowing their heads. Josh speaks up first, "sorry, sir," " go get that noise looked at and don't disrespect my daughter again understood?" my dad says. Josh bows his head and walks away.
I am still in shock as everyone stands around me. Fighting among werewolves is not uncommon, so all the other party guests continue like nothing happen. Mom and dad both ask at the same time," are you ok, honey?" "Yes, but I am not sure what just happen." Luca cuts in, "That ass had his hand on your ass," "his hand was on my lower back but yes too low," I reply. I look toward Levi, who is giving me a shit-eating grin. Emma then comes walking up laughing, "well, if we only have one broken nose tonight, it will be better than last year," I smack my face, but she is so right.
Last year at my party, some of the older males got in a fight over who was stronger, and to prove it, they ended up with several broken bones. We all laugh, thinking back. It looked like we had a fight club in the backyard, not a birthday party.
I turn to Emma, "it's all your fault last time and this time," Last year, you were the one that started telling them you could not tell which one was stronger, and this year you dragged me over to dance with Josh." "I don't know what you are talking about, but it's not a party if there is not a fight," she says as she snorts and walks away. "I think I need a drink," I say as I walk to the bar. I hear everyone laugh as I walk away.
When I reach the bar, I ask the new guy for a drink "anything strong will do," I say. Then I jump when I hear Levi beside me "why do you need something strong are you nervous?" "I am not nervous, but I am not sure what to think right now." I am not lying either I can't think with him so close. All I smell is pine and apple, and it is very distracting. " Tell me the truth, my Raine. What are you thinking right now?"
"I am thinking how this is going to work out. I also believe that this explained a lot about things when we were younger."
"I think you are right about when we were younger. I always hated to see guys look at you or say things about you or act interested in you." Levi replies to me. "How do we tell mom and your dad about this?" I say as I motion between the two of us. He replies with a sinister look on his face, "we don't yet." I have a feeling that this is going to get complicated. I don't say it out loud, but I probably should have. Luca joins us at the bar, asking what we are talking about, and I reply, "how we are going to keep this a secret from everyone." Luca looks taken back by my comment. What does he want to let the world know tonight that I am theirs?
