Chapter Six
I woke to voices mumbling to each other. I couldn't make out what they were saying but I could tell it was two men. I dressed in leggings and a loose long sleeve top, and brushed my teeth before leaving the room. I walked toward the smell of coffee. The voices grew louder, but as I entered the kitchen they stopped. I saw Oliver and Sean looking at me. Oliver came over and gave me a kiss, and led me toward the breakfast bar.
"How are you feeling, need anything for the pain?" he asked. I shook my head and he handed me just an antibiotic and motrin. "For the sweling in your arm." He said as I took them.
I let me gaze run over Sean, and felt his heated gaze do the same. My eyes took in his six foot four lean frame. He had muscles, but wasn't overly muscled. He looked like a runner. He was wearing a pair of tan tactical pants and a black tshirt that hugged his arms and shoulders, but without being overly tight. His shirt held the KT Security name and emblame and on his sleeve was "Chief". He was leaning against the counter with a cup of coffee in front of him, with his legs crossed at the ankles. Oliver clearing his throat pulled my gaze back his smiling face.
"So Sean and I were just talking that after you ate, we would head to the office and we can go over everything with you and you can meet the rest of the team." he said smiling to his coffee.
"O-okay." I mumbled. Oliver placed a plate of pancakes and bacon infront of me, and a cup of coffee fixed to my liking. He remembered so much from high school. I ate, while ignoring Sean's gaze that kept drifting back to me. The men kept talking while I ate about work stuff. After finishing, Oliver rinsed my plate and put it in the dishwasher. He went to the door and grabbed my shoes. As I slipped them on he went to the back of the house. As I stood from putting my shoes on, a wave of dizziness swept over me. I reached out for the back of the stool I had been sitting in, but missed. Before I fall to far, Sean had my good arm in his hand and he was stabilizing me.
"Are you ok?" he asked, his eyes checking over my body.
"I'm fine." I muttered, as I realized how close we were.
"If you guys are ready, we'll head out." Oliver said with a sly smirk from the end of the counter.
I cleared my throat, and pulled my arm from Sean's grasp. I walked to Oliver and grabbed my purse he was holding and moved to walk to the car. I was pulled back toward Oliver, as he hadn't released my purse. He pressed a quick kiss to my lips and turned me around and walked me to the car. He helped me in, while Sean got into a tall black truck that was parked beside Oliver's SUV.
Oliver walked to the window and they talked for a moment before Oliver turned back to the SUV, entered and started it. He backed out of the spot and started down the drive. He was tense, and I could feel the tension radiating from his body.
"What's on your mind, Oliver?" I asked, twisting toward him.
"Nothing."
"No, I'm not dumb. Something is bothering you." I spat back at him.
He looked at me and raised one eyebrow. His face clearly stated, Who do you think you're talking to. I felt my face warm and he looked back to the road. A smile slowly forming on his face.
"I like these glimpses back to the sassy brat I used to know." His words only deepened my blush and I turned to face the front again. "I'm thinking that a lot has changed since we were a couple. We've grown, and with growing comes changes. I know that we still have a pull and we still clearly care for each other, but I'm worried that my preferences will drive you away, especially after what you've been through." His face was solemn, and I could hear the vulnerability in his voice.
"You'll never know if we don't discuss it with each other and be honest." I said looking out the window.
"I just don't want to overwhelm you. I'm trying to take things slow, but it's so damn hard. I'm trying to keep my distance, but I can't." He said, placing a hand on my thigh. I covered it with my own hand.
"Then let's talk. We have half an hour right?" I said looking back toward him. He grinned and nodded, glancing back over at me.
"Fine, little one, you want to do this now. Let's do it. How do you remember our relationship?" he asked, his hand going back to the steering wheel.
"I remember you being a possessive, but doting boyfriend. You always made sure I was cared for, and my needs, mentally or physically were met." I said looking ahead of the car.
"Well, that's only gotten worse. While I was in the service, I was introduced to sex club, where I was grew and was taught to embrace my dominant traits and learned to dominate women. I enjoy a submissive woman in bed, I like being in control, and pushing limits." He stated, not meeting my gaze. "You don't have to have to have thoughts right now, or agree to anything. I'll be there and take care of you no matter what." he said glancing in my direction. I was quiet for a while, processing what he just told me. I look out the window on the door beside me and watched the trees move by. Finally able to form a though, I looked back out the windshield.
"You want to tie me up and hit me." I said, not moving my eyes from my window.
"No, little one, I don't wish to do that. There's a lot to learn, but I like taking care of you, and being in control. But ultimately you have the most control. You control what we do and don't do. You control when we stop, how far we go, everything. As we learn each other's likes and dislikes we'll add more in, and progress deeper into the lifestyle. I don't want to hit you. Tying you up does spark an interest, but only so I can drive you crazy. I'm not into causing pain. But some small amounts of pain can be pleasurable." He said with a smirk.
"I think I want more time before making a decision." I said, squeezing my legs together. The idea of being tied up and driven crazy, with Oliver in charge did do things to my mind and body. I just wasn't sure I could handle spankings or pain, I'd had too much of that recently and it was never pleasurable.
"I can give some websites and books for you look over and learn more. I know you like to do your research before commiting to something. I have plenty of reference material for you. One of the main things we remember is honesty and communication. Without those two things my lifestyle doesn't work. I'm here if you have questions, don't be afraid or embarassed to ask." He said, slowing down as we approached the center of town. I nodded and went back to looking out my window.
We drove in silence through town, and while Oliver parked his car at a big, plain building. The name of the company was on the front door, but the glass was frosted so you couldn't see into the building. He got out and came to my side so he open the door and help me out.
As we approached the building he slowed. "Josie, I'm trying hard to take this slow, but I want you to know I want you. With or without playtime the way I like it. I'll be happy if we just stay on your side of normal sex. I'm just asking you to be open and consider it. You have the power here, you can say no if you want to." He said as he pulled me close. He gave me a gentle kiss before pulling away and opening the door for me and following me inside.
I glanced around the reception area, they had a few couches and a chairs alone with some magazines and books on the tables. It looked like a regualr office building. The biggest difference being that instead of a small dainty receptionist like one would expect, a hulk of a man sat behind the desk.
"Josie, I want you to meet Sam Stone. He's on the team, and is riding the front desk today. He'll be joining in a bit later when we do our briefing meeting. I wanted to show you the space, and check your lab results and then we'll meet the guys."
He pulled me through the door into a hallway. There were offices on each side, and then a break room with a full kitchen. Across from the break room was the conference room. There was a gym and a room with beds in it. At the end of the hallway was a door. We went through the door and I saw a few hospital beds, some carts with supplies and then small open office area that faced the open side of the room. I realized the layout was so he could chart while still monitoring the patients. Across from the office space was a room that closed off, and a wash area.
He pulled me to the counter of the office space and he set me on a stool he pulled out. He walked around to the computer and started typing in information once he sat down. After a few clicks and typing, he stood up and grinned.
"Looks like we are taking the right course with the antibiotics. All of the rest of your labs look good. Dr. Barrett is our OB and her nurse will be calling probably today or tomorrow to schedule an appointment." He said walking back over to me.
He leaned on the counter, so close that our legs were touching. He reached around tucked a stray piece of hair behind my ear. He smiled and leaned down for a kiss. I was so caught up in the kiss I didn't hear the door open. A gruff throat clearing pulled us away from each other.
"If you are finished playing throat hockey, we are waiting for you in the conference room." My face heated with a blush and I turned to look at Sean as he turned and stormed away.
"Let's go, guess it's time to meet the others." He said gently helping me up off the stool. I inhaled and exhaled a big breath after standing. I braced myself and nodded.
"Let's go get this over with." I said as we walked to the door, I could do this, I had to do this. I couldn't protect myself anymore. I needed help. The help of this team.
