3 : Rest
Evelyn :
When he met my gaze, he certainly noticed my fears, as his thumb started to gently rub against my skin.
"You thought I'd hit you?" his voice was dangerously low.
I swallowed hard, shaking my head slowly, but I knew it didn't look quite convincing.
Raphael's right cheek muscle twitched as he leaned even closer. His touch gave me a pleasant spark that could even be felt all over my body. It both confused me and frightened me.
Breathing, I watched him stop a few centimeters from my face. His hot breath burned me, and though it was a bit strange but when I smelled it, I could smell dark coffee and peppermint. The mix was divine.
This man's intimacy should've scared me to hysteria but it didn't. I seemed hypnotized by his touch and stare.
"If you're so sure about what's going on here, why not try to run away?" looking at me seriously, I saw a faint threatening smile but not so noticeable that I would be scared.
I swallowed hard, still struggling to gather my thoughts, feeling his hot rough hand on my face, which rubbed my cheek, down to my neck, seeing his eyes follow the movements of his hand.
Oh boy.
"I ... I don't know," it was a small whisper because I was afraid I would have to disturb the silent moment when I speak louder. I didn't want to annoy the so-called Master.
Raphael smiled, turning his eyes to me again.
"You were in pain; your mind can hardly comprehend what happened to you yesterday. You only know that you were attacked overnight and I rescued you. Easier than that."
My eyebrows rose up, and for a moment I was confused.
"I know well what I saw. What's suspicious is happening here."
Raphael gazed deeper into my eyes until he leaned in closer with his lips to my ear. I barely suppressed the moan.
"And," he whispered, I shivered, "if that is true, are you not afraid of me?" I felt his smile against my skin like a hot feather.
With my eyes closed, I began to breathe harder because of his closeness.
"Give me a reason to be afraid of you, apart from the moment where you kidnapped me, brought me to your house, and even changed me?" looking at him again, I saw that his face was again in my line of sight.
Raphael smiled again. Wow, he really liked doing that. That sight alone made me feel goosebumps.
"But you're healthy and safe, aren't you?" with one eyebrow raised, he slowly leaned back from me to straighten back to his full body height. I almost whimpered like a puppy because of the distance and the cold feeling as his warmth drifted away from me.
I looked down.
"Tell me why I'm here. Please ... don't lie to me ..."
There were seconds moments of silence until I felt a hot hand on my chin, tilting my head back so I could look directly at him again.
Those sparks were dancing over my skin again.
He stared at me for a moment, thinking what to say.
"For now, let's just leave that conversation for later, just know you're safe with me. I won't let anyone hurt you," it seemed that promise was a threat to me, but I knew he was speaking the full truth because of the serious tone and facial expression so I can trust him.
"Why me? Why did you come?" There were so many questions in my head that I tried to answer, but I didn't know any of them.
Raphael smiled weakly, rubbing my cheek, making me shiver once again, like always.
"Later. Now the most important thing now is for you to rest. I'll bring you what you want to eat and then you have to sleep a bit, so you can feel better, okay? " moving back, I began to protest, but his flaming gaze shut my words completely.
"Relax and rest, I said. Did I say clearly enough?" waiting if I understood everything, as an obedient pet I obeyed and nodded. I didn't know what is wrong with me.
Raphael made a slow sexy smile.
"Good girl."
Oh god. He's gonna kill me and we're only known one day.
