ISBERLT.
I groan slightly, hand moving to my head as I take in the sight of my environment—darkness covering the area, with large leaves from trees blowing wind across the area, and I feel myself being moved at an inhumane pace—my big lab coat being the only thing protecting me from the harsh wind.
It takes me a few minutes to realize that I'm dangling off something with my body placed in a vertical position upside down, then a long minute to realize I'm on the shoulder of a man; my face right in his backside.
It doesn't take long for my memories to move back to places, and I realize this man is the Alpha, and he's taking me to God knows where.
Raising my head to stare ahead, I take note of the fact that we are no longer in the city, but now deep in the forest—into the life I managed to escape years ago.
He must have noticed that I'm conscious, and he tries to gaze back at me. "Don't do anything stupid. "
The deep tone of his voice resonates deep in my mind, and I try to open my mouth to say something in return but ends up with nothing.
So many questions flew through my mind as I feel myself slip back into unconsciousness, but the bigger one remains—What does he want from me?
Noise.
One of the things I dislike in the world.
Unfamiliar sounds fill my ear as I slip back to consciousness, a headache surfacing as soon as my eyes flutter open.
I'm no longer in the dark thick forest, and I'm no longer on the shoulder of an Alpha.
"She's awake. "
A voice says in a hushed whisper that I manage to catch, and I lift my body from the cold surface that it was rested against.
My eyes move across the vicinity I'm brought into without my consent, and glaring eyes, and hardened face covered in scowls, stares back at me. So many bodies hovering over me with no sense of familiarity from any one of them.
But one thing is for sure. These people aren't human. They are very far from it judging by the way the males blares their fangs at me, and the way the female's eyes turn bright yellow, and most white.
And I know exactly who, and the species they belong to.
They belong to one that I come from.
One that I left years ago after being made miserable from their betrayal.
They belong to one I once called family.
They are just like me, with much more power, and heightened senses.
The wolves.
Amidst the look of hatred, irritation, and disgust, I try to find any familiar face that might belong to my old pack, but end up with nothing.
And that can only mean two things.
Either after years of being away from them; so many things have changed—just like I have— and I fail to recognise them.
Or, this pack isn't the one I left years ago.
Which brings me to the question; what the fuck do they want from me?
"Step aside. "
A sharp voice laced with authority cuts through the thick tension in the air like a curt knife, and the pack of wolves surrounding me slowly dissolves; stepping away but pointed looks remaining on me.
"I see you're awake. "
A man that looks about two inches taller than me, with piercing green eyes hovers over me, his arms crossed behind his back gently.
I take my eyes to his stand, the shape of his face, the way his shoulders stands high, but find no familiarity to him with the man that stood before me last night. Or the night isn't over yet? It's hard to determine when you suddenly find yourself in a situation you never think you would in years or centuries to come.
"Who are you? Why am I here? What do you want from me?"
I hold his sharp gaze, scowling at him, and I don't miss the way the corner of his lips lifts slightly as he takes another step towards me.
"Quite curious, I see. Don't worry, you'll soon find out just exactly what you are here for, and who I am. Though when you do find out, I doubt you'll be wanting to find out the identity. "
With that, he steps away, and hold his head high.
Arrogance.
I hate him already.
"Chain her. "
He says to no one in particular, and two younger men emerge from the crowd, stern hard just like the rest of them with silver chains in hand.
You have got to be fucking kidding me.
What the fuck am I? A fucking dog?
"Piss off, you bastards! Don't you dare lay your filthy hands on me!"
I blare at them, surprised they stop on their tracks, looking back at the man who I've come to conclude has a higher position than the other two.
"What are you staring at? I told you to chain her!"
"Dare to touch me, and I promise I'll tear you from limb to limb. "
I resort, eyes flaming as I rise, my bright white lab coat now a dirty shade of brown, covered in dust.
"Stay away from me. " Empty threats, I know. I do not have the power I used to, and even if I did; there's no way I would have been able to take down this huge man before me; not to talk of the many angry eyes that's still on me.
"The Alpha King said to not forcefully handle her as of yet. "
The man standing at the right of the two men says to the scarier one when he glares at them, and he scoffs.
So he isn't the Alpha.
The beta probably?
"The same Alpha King will kill you before I do if you don't have her brought to the square room. She might have been away from her pack for so long, and her powers might have weakened, but the wolf instincts are still in her, coupled with the fact that she has stayed long in the human world, plotting against us with them. "
Angry roars fill the air then, and I look around me in shock, dark gazes staring back at me; more wolves than humans looking ready to tear my head from my body.
What the hell is this man talking about? Plotting against them?
"Chain her. "
With that, one of the two me lunges forward, grabbing my hands, and putting them in the silver chains before locking a silver collar around my neck, and chains around my legs.
Knowing fighting them off with only worsen the situation, I grit my teeth silently, and obey as he drags me away to where I presume should be the square room; roars and snarls following behind me.
Noise.
Noise, once again, has always been something I greatly dislike. The ability of those merely five—lettered—ugly—words to make me lose focus so easily, has always been something I hated.
This is why I'm currently boring holes into space; teeth clamping against each other in annoyance.
Hushed whispered. Mockery murmurs, and most of all pointed looks of hatred... All directed at me as I stare around the big space that surrounds me.
After being collared and chained— I was dragged into this big room with the men from earlier no longer in sight, and angry wolves, but much lesser in number to those of earlier surrounding me. None of the faces belonging to the one that brought me here.
This place looks so different.
So far, and different from the custom of the wolves that I grew up to.
This pack is larger in number, and they seem to have an association judging by the strong aura's that belongs to the ones in the room.
These right here are not one of lesser position. They are all with betas or the alphas with few Luna's beside them. This pack is like one I've never seen before, and I try to keep alert.
I see, and sense altogether.
I see hatred.
I sense the desire to kill.
I see irritation.
I sense rage burning in flames.
I see lusted gazes,
And I SENSE desire to claim beneath those ugly emotions.
Too many emotions... Too much anger in the room that makes me want to cower away from this place, and hide at a corner, but my desire to prove them wrong—that they do not scare me—have me holding my head up high; hands outstretched in chains as I wait for the arrival of the so-called Alpha King.
I feel before I see.
I feel the change in the atmosphere.
I feel the change in the voice, and I feel the change in the sound from a complete disaster of noise to total silence.
Everywhere goes silent, as the door opens, and the same man that I saw at my office steps through the door; an aura of authority surrounding him.
He gazes across the room for a few minutes before stepping on the levelled ground—standing above me.
Our gaze meets for few minutes before he looks away—suddenly bowing. And I need not no man to tell me the man have arrived.
The aura in the room changes once again, and I resist the urge to glance back at who this so-called powerful man is.
"Alpha King. "
The man that arrived previously murmurs, and the Alpha steps on the levelled ground beside him, hands stretched to his neck.
An aura that overthrows all others in the room surrounds him, as he stands tall and mighty; face hardened before he gazes down to where I kneel before him.
"You have betrayed your pack, Wolf. "
Are the first words that leave his mouth as I meet him square in the eyes, and I try to resist the urge to curse at him and let him know here, or any other is no pack of mine.
"You have betrayed your kind by working with the humans—creating powerful inventions that could be the end of us all— and you shall be punished for it. You will be chained, and stripped down of power. You will be treated worse than an omega, and you will pay back... Everything you've caused us. "
Finality and supremacy lie in his words. Resentment, and hatred, the only sensitivities in his tone.
"Strip her down. "
