Disowned

Detective Sean opened the door of the underground basement, he cringed, seeing the sight before him. Making him retreats his footsteps. The twenty years he had been working as a detective and the the thirty five years he had spent in this town. He hadn’t seen a thing as this. Blood was was all over the wall. There was a writing in blood as well.

‘Don’t look for me, look for me you die.’

It did give him chills.

The forensic department were there, running a test on the items on basement. But he couldn’t see them at the moment, the only thing he saw was the blood on the wall. He couldn’t seem to get his eyes off it.

What the hell are you?

His gaze was on the room, everything was basically destroyed, what could have happened down here. He moved around flashing his torch at each corner.

Imagining the scenario.

Probably a beast or something.

Squatting, he traces the blood on the ground and saw an eyes plucked off.

“Detective Sean!”

“There’s nothing, absolutely nothing about the fingerprint, it doesn’t exist. It can’t be traced to anyone.”

He touched the blood with his finger tips. Smushed them together.

“Even the strands of hair we found, there wasn’t any DNA. Here.”

He handed over the hair in a clip to him.

It was a long red-brown hair. He kept glancing it.

“It could be a human” he suggested, standing on his feet. He tap the scientist shoulders.

“Or a beast...”

while nodding his head severally.

“That’s what have been thinking of the case, it could be a beast he created or something worse, that might end up killing every being in this city. And we need to stop it before it completely destroys us.”

He was facing the wall, his hands crossed at his back. Staring at the hair at intervals. Could it be a sign or something.

What or who was held in here?

That he had to look into.

And find out everything he had to know about Lucas and his missing assistant.

Anika.

The paranormal researcher could obviously be something else.

And all that he has to find out....

“And one more thing, Detective.”

Detective Sean turned to him, giving him his full attention.

“What is it?”

“I think you need to have this..”

Taking detective Sean’s hands and dropped something in it.

“I probably belongs to whoever was held here.”

Detective Sean open his palm and saw a small pink teddy bears with the letter M inscribed on it.

“Could it be a girl right?”

“It could be”

Detective Sean looked down at his hands again. Staring down at the tiny bear. And without a second thought he hurried out of the basement....

“You don’t deserve to be here in the first place. You didn’t do anything wrong.”

“Neither did you. Eamon”

“Well am a poor man son, might rot in here, without anybody noticing.”

“Am gonna get you out. I promise.”

"You know am glad you're out, man but

Come of it.. besides I have been sentenced to life imprisonment" he tried covering the bitterness in his voice with a faux smile.

“I’ll do all I have to just to make sure you’re out of here, you’ll be free man. You’ll. I promise you that.” His eyes were clouded with tears. And would pour down any minute. For the five years he spent in here. Eamon was the only one he had beside him, who loved and trusted him like a brother. Maybe the connection they had was because he was also frame for murder. Woke up one morning and the next thing he was in prison. Though it happened like a dream to him. Which he thought he was gonna woke up from but years past. And he was sentenced to life in prison. And that dream became a reality.

"Come on" they hugged

" You're a true brother"

" Take care of yourself, man"

"Dixon, you're out..." they pulled away. He gave Eamon a last glance and walked out, blinking his tears of.

“Goodbye.”

“Am gonna get you out. I promise you that with my life. Just stay strong and have faith. As far as am out. You’re gonna be out as well. Promise me you’ll stay strong and don’t give up. Fight!”

Eamon nodded, with the tears falling down his eyes. They clasped their hands together. With both head touching.

“Goodbye. Brother.”

"We're home!"

“Home sweet home!.”

Linda announced. Stepping out of the car and gesture towards the magnificent mansion. Dixon came out and glance around the house he grew up with.

"Come on, they're waiting" she held his hand, he didn't draw back. And Linda was more grateful.

They closer they get, the more his nervousness increase. He had been locked up for five years and the man he called his father didn’t pay him a visit not once. And here he was going back to the house he was rejected from.

"Hey Dixon, good to have you back" Bruce pulled him into a side hugged. He was his younger brother. Suffering from panic attack since they were kids, happened when they were abducted, since then, had been scared and most especially any time their father was on his case.

He wasn’t strong yet he’s putting on a strong face.

"You look good" sarcastically he said

"Bruce!" Linda yelled at him

"He's your elder brother"

Bruce shrugged, taking him his seat on the two seated chair.

"We will see about that" he smirk.

"What do you..."

"What's this criminal doing in my house!” he barked rushing down the stairs.

"Albert, stop it, he's your son." He was down the stairs already and meet up with Dixon besides the door and grab him by the collar, shook him fervently and gave him a knockout punch.

Dixon fell.

“What’s the meaning of this Albert!” She yelled. Standing in front of Dixon.

“Get him out of my house, now.”

He pushed Linda out of the way and draped Dixon up his feet and punched him again, and again.

Until blood splatter on his face. Linda crawled towards Albert and held his pantsuits.

“Please Albert, Don't do this"

" I don't want to ever sight my eyes on him. Ever again"

" He's your son!" She shouted.

"The moment he had step his feet in prison. I never thought of him as a son"

"I never thought of you as a father either! You always hated me! You never once supported my music. You were always against me! You dare call yourself a father. You’re a failure!.

You hate me. I hate you too!”

Dixon yelled standing on his feet. Wiping the blood off his lips.

“Dixon that’s enough. Stop it please!”

“No mom! Tell me, did he ever love me, did he?”

“Dixon!” Linda cried.

“I doubted he was my father, I had to do a DNA test to know if he was truly my father. Linda you tell me. Did he love me or did he ever look at me as his son?”

Dixon eyes were puffy and red. And he kept sniffing. Linda couldn’t say a word. He buried her head in her hands. Crying into them.

“The reason I came here was because I thought I could accepted again. Because I believe in second chance. I thought I could feel this love again. But I made a mistake coming here. I was never welcome here.”

"Santus!"

"Albert please"

"He's no longer my son!"

“You heard him, am not a father to him. And I don’t want to see him. Anywhere near me or my house.”

"Santus take this criminal out of my house!"

He turned his back against them and walked away from them...

Linda wipes tears and turned to Dixon. His face was covered with blood.

She hugged him, crying on his shoulders..

“It’s gonna be okay.”

“It’s not gonna be okay Linda. It has never been and it won’t be.”

He pulled away from her. Giving Bruce a glance, Bruce looked lost and scared. He was hugging the wall at the end of the room.

Looking away from Bruce, pushing the door opened and not another stare he was out of the house.

“Dixon!” Linda cried and slowly crouch to the ground in a dead faint....
