Chapter 6 "Angelina, is that you?"
-Angelina's POV-
One month flew by.
A new semester began, and I registered for college under my new identity, Angela. The first day I entered the college, I unsurprisingly caused a school-wide stir.
"Have you heard? The Alpha King's granddaughter has come to attend our university."
People were talking about me everywhere, but they didn't think about the fact that the person they were discussing happened to pass them by.
"Really? Isn't there a royal university, so why would the princess come to our ordinary university?"
"It's true. I heard that this princess has been lost for many years and has just been recovered by the king. She should have grown up in an ordinary werewolf pack, so she didn't adapt to the royal life."
"So that's how it is. You know so much, so do you know her name?"
"Her name ...... I don't know it."
I stopped, smiled and said to them, "Angela. The princess's name is Angela."
"Oh, thank you. But how do you know the princess's name?"
"How would I know? Because I am Princess Angela." I said and left in style as everyone stared in shock.
Today was the first time I came to school as a princess. I didn't ask my chauffeur to take me down to the teaching building but walked to the classroom by myself from the school entrance.
Once again, I saw the familiar sights of the campus, and I was no longer here as Angelina. In the eyes of all the teachers and classmates, Angelina and her father, Alpha David, had died in a car accident.
Now I am the honorable Princess Angela, the long-lost granddaughter of the Alpha King.
Everyone talks about me and envies me. Everywhere I went, I could hear them whispering about who I was, my clothes, my hair, my shoes, about everything there was to say about me.
About a couple dozen of Alpha's daughters or sons came up to greet me in just one morning. They came from different werewolf packs. All of the werewolf packs were under my grandfather's authority.
Although I was tired of dealing with so many people, I still maintained my royal grace and etiquette and gave them responses one by one.
I knew that I would soon meet the people I wanted to see as my fame grew.
Sure enough, while eating lunch in the dining hall, Matthew appeared.
He stood in front of me and called out to me in a trembling voice: "Angelina, is that you?"
I deliberately ignore his voice and continue to sip my soup gracefully.
Matthew called me Angelina once again and tried to come up to talk to me, but an Alpha's son, who seemed to be from the Black Blood pack, stopped him.
"Do not be rude to Her Highness! She is not the person you are looking for. She is Princess Angela."
"Princess Angela?" Matthew repeated the name, looking back and forth at my face in shock and disbelief.
I tried to keep my calm even though I hated to tear him apart in my heart. I told my hands not to tremble, and my eyes did not show hate and fear.
No one can recognize me as long as I don't admit that I am Angelina. My face had been changed after disfigurement and restoration, and with the new makeup my exclusive royal makeup artist had designed for me, I was now the honorable Princess Angela.
I think my disguise was perfect because Matthew finally lowered his eyes and stepped back to bow.
I could see him sighing with relief and smiling sinisterly. He was glad I wasn't Angelina. He was happy that Angelina was dead.
He put on a sad voice and said, "I'm sorry Princess Angela, please forgive my offense. My name is Matthew Johnson. My fiancée Angelina was lost in a car accident four months ago. I was too grief stricken and missed her too much to mistake you for her."
Liar! Everything he said was nothing but lies! It wasn't an accident. It was his deliberate attempt to kill me! The look on his face earlier when he suspected me of being Angelina was not grief at all but panic and fear.
The detective I hired told me that Matthew had not made his affair with Monica public so far. He knows that being the fiancé of Angelina, the Alpha's daughter will better enable him to gain the support and acceptance of others in the Blue Moon pack.
To gain more sympathy from others, he had been playing the image of a fond and pathetic man who had lost his fiancée for four months.
He even squeezed out a few tears when he said those words just now!
If I were a princess who knew nothing, I might really have been fooled by his acting and touched by his words. However, I am Angelina, who almost died at his hands. I have seen his true evil face. His current behavior looks like a clown to me.
I won't lose to him in a contest of acting skills.
I pretended to be surprised, curious, and sympathetic and said: "Oh Matthew, I'm sorry to hear that. May I ask how much I look like your fiancée?"
Matthew was so happy to have my attention that I could clearly see him smirk. But soon, he pretended to look sad again.
He said in a false voice: "Yes, you two look very much alike. You are both so beautiful. The moment I saw you, I thought the moon goddess had heard my prayer and brought my fiancée back to life."
Beautiful... I was keenly aware of the flattery in Matthew's words.
After confirming that I was not Angelina, he seemed that he wanted to get close to me, the granddaughter of the Alpha King.
I said with a fake smile, "I'm curious, who do you think is more beautiful, me or your fiancée?"
Matthew said, "Of course you are more beautiful and noble, Your Highness, but in my mind, my fiancée is the most perfect girl in the world."
What a perfect answer, pleasing me and maintaining his affectionate persona.
I never want to talk to Matthew again; I'm going to throw up if I see him for one more second.
However, I suddenly noticed that Monica had just walked into the dining hall, and she saw Matthew and me.
So I changed my mind.
