4.

Chanel jumps, "Shit, you scared me."

The tall man steps out of the shadows, he looked familiar, but she couldn't remember who it was.

"The boss will be with you in a minute," he says in a monotone voice.

It's Gio, she's at Vincent's house, this calls for a mini celebration.

"Okay."

The tall man leaves, and Chanel's left alone, she checks her pockets and finds her phone, it was 18:40, she had to text Kat.

Chanel: Change of plans, we're in.

Kat: Shit.

Chanel: We'll talk.

The door bursts open and in walks a blast from the past. Chanel is shocked, after all, three months he still looks the same except for his hair, he's got curls now, chiselled jawline still as sharp as ever, the intense blue eyes and muscular body.

"Mi amore, so glad to see you," he smirks, scanning her body, he missed those curves.

"Vincent," she says softly and then she remembers what happened and she's pissed.

"You little shit! How dare you have me kidnapped from my own home?" She screams angrily, she honestly is upset, he could have done better, a call, text, email.

Vincent grins, he loves it when she gets angry, she looks so cute, like Tinkerbelle.

"I'm happy to see you too amore," he replies coolly.

"A text, a call or a postcard would have been less traumatizing," she continues.

Vincent rolls his eyes, "Amore I apologize for how this all happened but there was no other way."

"No other way?" She questions.

Vincent sighs, "Amore, I know you're upset."

"Don't call me that!"

Vincent looks at her with a frown, "Chanel please hear me out."

"No Vincent," she sighs, "You can't just come back into my life. You kissed me and I thought I was going to see you again."

She really wanted to see him again, there is never a day that goes by that she doesn't think about him, whether it work-related or for her own personal pleasure.

"Amo- Chanel I know the way we parted ways wasn't the way it should have happened. I only stayed away because I was trying to protect you."

"From what?"

"Those men that shot me, that's a rival gang," he says.

"Rival gang?" Chanel can't believe what she's hearing.

Vincent nods, she can tell by his pursed lips and darkening of the eyes that he isn't joking. She bit off more than she could chew.

"No," Chanel gasps lightly, "They know who I am?"

Vincent nods, "That's why you're here Chanel, they were waiting for you, so they could kill you, I had Gio there, I asked him to bring you here, while we sorted the matter out."

"But how? I thought they were in jail?" She furrowed her brows in confusion.

"But the other gang members aren't."

She has a target on her back, and she didn't know it. She's been blindly going through life the past three months not knowing the full extent of what she had done. Chanel's scared, her life's in danger now, even more than it was before, this is now the big leagues.

"Amore I know you're scared but you shouldn't be," Vincent reassures her, he sits beside her on his bed and caresses her cheek, she closes her eyes, taking in his scent and the loving touch of his hand, something she has missed dearly.

Snap out of it, she scolds herself.

Chanel clears her throat and pulls away from him, making Vincent frown, "Thank you."

Vincent doesn't like the way she rejects him, why is she doing that, she's finally close to him, where she belongs but she doesn't seem to want to be close to him, he has to change that and quickly.

"Nessun problema Principessa," he says, he takes her hand and kisses it, "I'm here to protect you."

[Translation: No problem princess]

"But I have to go, Vincent, I can't stay here," Chanel says pulling her hand away from his.

"Of course, Amore, I'll have Gio take you home, I'm sure the problem has been solved."

Every time he sees her, he doesn't know whether it will be the last time, the rival gang is watching her, watching him. Everything inside him tells him to beg her to stay but he knows that it isn't a clever idea.

Ci ritroveremo ancora il mio amore, he thought.

[Translation: We will meet again my love]

And that he was certain of.

Chanel gets up and walks to the door, she refuses to look back and she walks out the door and closes it, VIncent stands and slowly approaches the door, as if he knew she was still there, he presses his hand against the doorknob.

Don't you dare cry!

And she didn't, the door opens, and Vincent looks at her.

"Amore," he says softly.

And that's all it takes; she breaks down in tears. Vincent pulls her into his arms and holds her close as she cries into her chest.

"I'm scared Vincent," she sobs, "I don't want to die."

"Amore you won't die, not with me around."

"How do you know?" She counters.

"Because I'll be protecting you, watching you, like I have the past three months," he vows.

Chanel nods and wipes her tears.

So, my suspicions are confirmed he has been stalking me, he's really good at covering his tracks but I'm an even better detective, Chanel thinks.

Vincent kisses her forehead, "Let me take you home."

They go downstairs and Chanel gets a glimpse of Vincent's mansion and boy is it big, this must be where all the money is going, into the home decor. She looks around in the hallway and she can already tell that this is a classic Italian family, the paintings on the wall, the statues, the décor just screams Italy.

"You like it?" Vincent smiles.

"It's, it's gorgeous," she's in awe.

"Thank you, this was my father's house before he passed and gave it to me and my younger siblings," he explains, "He had great taste."

"Oh, I'm sorry, it's a very beautiful house," she replies with a sad smile.

Why wasn't that in his files?

Vincent takes her hand into his, "We need to get going, Amore."

Chanel nods, "Okay, I need to meet up with Kat at the club."

"On a Monday?" Vincent questions.

Chanel laughs, "Yes. I got a new job."

"That's good, congratulations," Vincent says cheerfully.

I already know that he thinks.

Chanel blushes, "Thank you."

They step out of the house and into Vincent's Ferrari and drive out of the mansion gates and to Chanel's apartment.

The drive is quiet but comfortable. They park outside the building and Chanel steps out the car, Vincent stands next to the car.

"Amore, I'll miss you," he says looking into her deep brown eyes that seem to shine under the night-time sky.

"Right," she chuckles, he couldn't possibly mean that he barely knew her.

Vincent sighs, she'll never understand how much you love her.

"Bye Amore," he says.

"Bye and thank you," she says shyly, and she turns around heads into her apartment building.

She gets into her apartment and closes the door, gets into her bedroom, and gets ready to go to the club to meet up with Kat, she has to tell Kat everything, well except for the part that she's highly attracted to him, this was going to be one of her toughest missions.
