CHAPTER 8: MONEY! MONEY!

After leaving the old man’s mansion, Krystal went to the branch of the bank where she had opened her account. She wanted to upgrade her status and that was something that could be done only when you have a lot of money. The benefits will be great so she decided on the upgrade.

She stood in the line for thirty minutes before she was served, after sharing her story; the manager was very excited since they could get some commission by having a client upgrade.

She filled all the forms that were needed before they were processed. After giving out her address which was a bit far from Frey, she knew that the branches will communicate with each other and the bank card will be sent to her back in Dielas.

She also deposited another four million at that branch before she was escorted by a happy manager. After she was done with the bank matters, Krystal returned back to the hotel. She spoiled herself with an expensive meal, a full body massage and she even visited the salon to get her hair done and her nails. After all the digging, she needed a rub.

Later that night in her room, Krystal visited the mall but she was still disappointed since she didn’t level up. She was only left with a crystal to level up to 2.

That night Krystal busied herself with opening some social media accounts, she had completely deleted the ones her former self was using. Her former self didn’t have any genuine friends left so it was better for her to just start afresh than to be reminded of the painful past that she didn’t participate in.

When she was done with opening the accounts, she took out the herb book once more and continued from where she left. Since she didn’t bring any textbooks with her on this journey, she just couldn’t remain idle.

She was no longer interested in what her former colleagues were up to. That was a life she was willing to let go of even before she met her demise, so this time she was going to mind her own business. Her brother wasn’t even in Frey so there was nothing much for her to look into.

Ever since she began reading those books and popping pills like a maniac, her reading speed had surely improved. Even her mentality had also increased. She studied for hours until midnight before she retired for bed.

The next day, Krystal wore a pair of white jeans accompanied by a red t-shirt; she was simply looking very casual. Since she had put most of her luggage in her warehouse, she only had a fancy satchel on her which had her wallet and her cell phone.

She bought a first-class ticket; she was tired of sitting in the economy and it was time for her to spend some money. She had a lot of it anyway. On her flight Krystal read a number of magazines and among them she found a fascinating interview done by B. B.

B. B. being an idol worshipped by many people at his young age had made a name for himself ever since he was sixteen. He made his debut as a model in a teen magazine before he joined the music industry. At the age of twenty-two he had featured in a number of commercials, movies, films, dramas and movies.

He was the definition of success and the most important thing was he had never been involved in any scandal. Was her idol gay? She just didn’t understand how such a young man can remain strong when surrounded by many beauties.

When she was done reading the magazine, she closed her eyes and went to sleep. She woke up after hearing the announcement that the plane was descending.

When the plane landed at Dielas Regional airport, she took a taxi since she didn’t have anyone waiting for her. She didn’t return to the villa first but decided to visit the shopping mall in town.

Schools were going to be opened in less than five days and she needed to prepare a number of things before that. The school provided meals but she wanted to bring her own food to school since her food was healthier than any food she had ever had.

She went into a cash and carry shop where she bought three lunchboxes of different colors, a flask and water bottles. She paid using cash since she had some lying around.

She visited a local pharmacy and bought some toiletries that she needed for her day-to-day usage. She watched as other teenagers were busy talking and laughing together. One could tell that schools were nearly to be opened. Kids were excited and preparing to return to school.

Krystal went into a supermarket where she picked five packets of lollipops of different flavors, a box of chocolates, a box of snacks. She paid with cash and carried her staff with a trolley out of the mall.

She found a taxi and had her things put in the boot before she left the shopping mall. This time taxi drove into the complex and stopped in front of her villa. She had been gone for nearly week and it was good to be home.

She paid for the taxi and put her things on the doorstep. She carried them inside using two trips and closed her door. The villa was dirty, and it needed to be cleaned. This made her realize a problem she had been ignoring for a while now.

If she wanted to go somewhere and make a name for herself, she needed to concentrate and doing house chores was something she will not have any time for. Krystal then decided to hire a housekeeper who will take care of her daily needs and meals. She would simply buy what was needed and the housekeeper will take care of everything for her.

Krystal left her villa and visited the management office where she met with the Complex Manager Alicia.

“Ms. Everett, how can I help you?”

“Please just call me Krystal or K.”

“I will use Krystal then, so how can I be of help?”

“I need a housekeeper; do you know anyone that you can recommend for me?”

“What kind of person are you looking for?”

“Someone a bit older and experienced.”

“The working hours?”

“She will be responsible for the cleaning, laundry and meals. As long as she is done, she can leave. So, everything will depend on her,” Krystal gave a detailed answer.

“I will look into some agencies that I know and get back to you.” Alicia responded as she noted everything down before she asked, “how urgent, is it?” she asked

“As soon as tomorrow, my place is dirty and needs to be cleaned,” Krystal replied.

“Sure, I will make some calls and tomorrow morning I will send someone for you,” Alicia spoke with a promising tone.

“I will be looking forward to it then. Thank you,” Krystal said before she left the office.

Ever since she began to live in the complex, she had never checked out the complex where she was staying at. The complex was beautiful and had a number of villas. Most of them were bigger than her own villa and she could tell that some moguls were living there.

As she walked back to her own place she spotted a five-year-old girl running in the front yard giggling. She looked so happy and carefree. At some point she too once experienced something like that.

She was born and raised in a poor family but they were happy until the day where she lost everyone that she cared deeply for. That was the same day that her life changed, and she was never able to turn back the time.

She smiled at the young girl who had stopped and waving at her. She resumed with her walk back to the villa energized by that genuine smile. Krystal returned to the villa but instead of going inside she decided to check the back.

She had thought of having a garden but now she decided that it was a bad idea. She didn’t want to be attached to a place she was going to be living at for a year.

After taking in some clean and fresh air, Krystal went back inside to continue studying her books. During the period she had started reading, she had finished a number of books so far and everything was going well.

That day Krystal prepared her dinner using the remaining ingredients in her refrigerator. She ate fried rice and omelet, cleaned the plates and went to the study to continue with her studies.

The next day she woke up early for her morning run in the park and when she returned, she found Alicia waiting for her at the villa with a beautiful older woman next to her.

“Good morning,” Krystal greeted the two ladies with a smile.

“Morning Krystal. Like I promised, I brought you someone,” Alicia said directing her gaze to the smiling woman besides her.

“Thank you, I will take it from here then.”

Krystal sent Alicia off and escorted the other woman in her villa. She offered her a seat and brought her a glass of water.

“Can you introduce yourself to me?” Krystal asked as she sat opposite the woman.

“I am Grace Mony, forty years old, I have two children and I am single,” Grace summarized the whole thing which was good for her.

“Okay then. This is the place that I need some help with. You will be responsible for the cleaning, the meals and the laundry. You can enter any room; I don’t have any restrictions like the others. As for the food, I will buy it and when something is finishing up you will just tell me. Is there anything that you would like to know?”

“Umm, will be there anyone living with you?” Krystal smiled as she heard that question. She understood it well, for someone young like her; it will be very questionable to be living alone.

“I am an orphan so there won’t be anyone here with me, so it’s just you and me,” Krystal answered Grace.

“I have no questions then. Will I be starting today?”

“Yes, and you can have the weekend off.”

The two continued with their talk and discussed about the remuneration. When they came to an agreement, Krystal left Grace to begin her job.

Krystal went to her bedroom where she took her time washing up, she changed into some cotton shorts, a t-shirt and some flat shoes. She left her bedroom with her phone and some bills of money.

Seeing Grace cleaning the place, she bid her goodbye and left the villa and complex altogether.
