Chapter 3.

Chapter 3.

I decide to go for a run when I leave Evans office, I shift in to my wolf and walk through the pack house and out the front doors, I stand tall taking in the crisp fall air. My fur rustles against the wind as it carry’s the smell of the trees, I let my magic come to life in my body as I allow it to take over me and my muscles sparkle in the power.

I start walking to the forest line as the dark covers the land and I take a moment to enjoy the silence, I sniff the ground before taking off down the path in to the woods. My paws barely touch the ground as my body bounces across the dirt and I feel Anna make her presence known, my heart feels full when I feel her come forward.

“Hello Anna, it’s good to have you here.” I say as she howls happily, I feel so much better after talking with Evan and Alison, my feeling is beginning to return and I know what I need to do. Evan has truly been my rock my entire life, he’s the only family I’ve ever had besides my father who turns out to actually be my biological uncle. Now that he has Alison that bond has grown so much more, he is my brother and with her I gained a sister and I’m grateful for that.

“They have been very good to us.” Anna says making me giggle softly.

“I know, I don’t think I’d be the person I am today without him and now that Alison’s here she has shaped me as well, Parker may be gone but I at least have my family and I’ll never let Griselda take that from me.” I say as a low growl comes from Anna, I continue running till I come to a large rock ledge off of one of the pack trails.

I’ve never been up here before, I’m pretty sure I’m still on pack lands and it’s kind of secluded, I walk along the rock edge as it leads to a big stone opening. It’s beautiful up here, the rock is covered with small quarts crystals that shimmer in the moonlight making small little glowing lights dance around. There is bright green moss climbing up the side of the stone as I notice a small opening, I walkover to it poking my head through the small hole as I see it opens up in to another opening.

I crouch to the ground and shimmy my body through the hole until I’m on the other side and can stand up, once inside I can see it’s a big open stone room, a small hole above me lets the moon light in landing on a small pond, I walk over to it as my paws scrape the rock. The water is so clear and beautiful, a tricking little flow of water comes through the hole above me feeding the small pond, I step in to the water noticing the crystals formed under the clear pond along the rock, stunning quartz rocks charging the water of the pond with the moon.

I wade in to the water as I feel Anna pur in the back of my mind in pleasure, the waters warm and steam begins to come off my body, my fur soaks in the water while I slowly swim to the middle where the water pours down allowing hit to hit me as it falls.

“What is this place?” I ask Anna as I feel my eyes flash gold and she peers through.

“I have no idea but I love it here, it feels like home.” She says happily as I agree.

The calming feeling covers me while I swim around enjoying the warm water on my fur, I let myself float to the edge as I lay along the crystals. Looking at them closely. I shift back to my human form letting my legs dangle in the water as my hair falls all around me in a wet mess, I look at my reflection in the water as my heart begins to break. My mind drifts wondering if our children would have my bright green eyes or his dark brown, if they would have my red hair or his deep brown and my mind shatters at the thoughts.

Half of my heart is dead and we didn’t even to get our lives together, I don’t think I could ever love anyone the way I loved Parker and it hurts knowing I won’t ever have that again. I waited my whole life to find my mate, I never dated or really talked to boys for that matter, I never wanted anyone except my mate and now he’s gone. I sit and think to myself as the moon helps me heal, leaning back I sigh letting my naked body soak in the moon light.

“I told you I would help you.” I hear the familiar soft voice from the other night making me smile.

“Moon goddess, you’re here.” I say softly closing my eyes.

“I’m always here darling, I’m glad you found this place, it holds a lot of power.” She states softly as I feel my eyes begin to droop.

“What is this place and why does it make me feel like this?” I ask trying to stay awake.

“It’s a vortex of power, you feel like this because your magic is trying to align with the power of the crystal cave, you can use this place to harness you witch magic with the power of your wolf, make it your place of practice.” She explains as I hear her voice in my mind and I feel myself beginning to slip.

“We can talk about that later for now you just rest dear, I’ll watch over you.” And with that the moonlight covers me in a warmth i haven’t felt since my last day with Parker.

I wake up while it’s still dark out, I look up to the small stream still trickling through the brake in the cave above me. My skin shivers sitting against the stone, my legs still lay in the water wrinkled as I sit up to look around. My body feels good, I no longer feel weighed down by anything and I feel alright, my power flickers at my finger tips as excitement runs through my body, a smile creeps across my face when my body ignites in power.

I rise my hand gracefully as I focus on the water pouring down in front of me, I allow my magic to flow from my hands while the water falls from the sky. It begins to bend, moving to the side as it brakes part in to small spread out droplets, I raise my other hand twisting both around one another making the small drops spiral around in to a light rain while I let some of them fall to the ground.

Happiness fills me as I start to feel alive again, my powers are healing me and I honestly am so grateful to have the help , I don’t think I’d survive the loss of Parker on my own. I send a surge of magic from me throwing the water droplets in every direction, I decide to take a look around, the moon goddess said I should practice here right? So I might as well get used to the area and learn what I can.

Looking around I notice many kinds of crystals formed in to the rock in different places, from what I can tell there’s rose quartz, Smokey and milky quartz, amethyst and a few different blue shines and dull stones. I wonder if that’s why the moon goddess said it was a vortex for power, maybe the crystals channel the energy. I find lots of little tunnels and caves that open up in to different spaces and rooms.

After exploring the rock caves for most of the night I decide it’s probably time I get back before anyone starts to look for me, I’ll come back in the morning to look around more and continue practicing, maybe I’ll bring the twins with me. I shift in to my wolf before stepping back out in to the open as I head to the path I broke off from.

I walk between the trees listening closely to the sounds of the small animals lingering around in the woods, I listen to the wind rustling against the leaves and I feel whole, being one in nature.

“We will get through this together, with the help of the moon goddess.” Anna says softly in my head as I continue my slow trot.

“I don’t want to forget Parker though.” I say as my heart skips a beat to the thought of him.

“I don’t think we will, I think the moon goddess is just lessening the pain. When we think of him we feel happy to have those memories but I can’t see a future for us without him now, we can go on Valerie well make it.” She says with confidence making me smile, Anna’s always been a very shy wolf complete opposite to me.

“We will take down my mother first, then we can think of our future, ok?” I say softly as she nods happily and drifts back in to my mind, it’s good to see her happy again. I honestly didn’t think we could heal from this, most wolves who lose a mate turn rogue or kill them selves because they can’t handle the sorrow.

I reach the pack house as the dark is still spread across the land, the cold bites my skin when I shift to my human form stepping in to the pack house fully naked. It’s the middle of the night so the halls are clear and everyone’s in bed as I tiptoe up the stairs to my room when I hear a soft noise behind me.

“Fuck Preston.” I jump back while he comes stumbling out of his room reeking like booze.
