Chapter 6.

“Hello darling, it’s good to see you again, and I see you received my gift.” Her soft voice flows from her as I step forward bowing.

“I’m sorry moon goddess he followed me here.” I say while I look over and Preston stands stunned as he watches the beautiful figure move closer with more grace then anything I’ve ever seen before.

“Oh darling don’t worry about him, he’s your second chance.” She says softly as I feel a small smile creep up my face.

“I’m not ready yet.” I say looking down to the ground.

“He will help you heal , you also need him to help take down your mother.” She says as she moves my face up to look at her.

“I feel like I’m betraying Parker.” I answer feeling sad.

“Don’t feel like that darling he’s gone now, there’s no reason for you to waist time being sad when you can be happy growing and healing, that’s what he would have wanted for you.” She says taking my hands in hers and I stop to think knowing she’s right, she’s giving me a second chance and I’d be a fool not to take it.

I nod while she turns to walk to Preston and he stands as still as can be not wanting to move, his eyes flow her tiny body.

“You Preston, I’m sorry for your loss. You are being given a gift and I expect you to cherish it as well as your new found mate.” She states while circling him, he nods quickly in fear.

“Yes moon goddess, I will. Thank you.” He says bowing his head to her.

She slowly turns walking back to the opening disappearing back to the moon and the water begins to trickle in again.

“A lot of secrets eh red?” He say turning to me as I lower my head and shame washes over me.

“What did your brother tell you about me?” I ask softly as I feel my body go numb.

“I know about your visions, and I know about your mother contacting you, he never really told a lot.” He states as I sigh loudly and begin to tell him about my life, finding out I was a witch, being the key for my mothers destruction, and why Parker was actually killed. He sits quietly listening to everything I’m saying nodding while I talk, my mind spins trying to go through everything as he just listens to me ramble.

“Wow, so you’re a witch.” He states to himself while I allow my magic to flow through me, I twirl my hands around making the water in the pond slowly move one way causing a spinning pool making me smile at my power.

“You’re moving the water?” He exclaims making me giggle as I continue, I pick the water up quickly letting the drops rain down around us.

I turn to a large rock against the wall and use my magic to force it to the side, moving it with my powers as Preston stands in awe watching me. Another small tunnel appears and I crawl through it pulling myself to the other side, I stand up while hearing Preston follow in behind me. This tunnel leads back outside and I feel the sun beat down on me, closing my eyes I lean my head back soaking in the power radiating down on me.

My body becomes light like a cloud as the sun rays lift me up off the ground, i breath deeply and open my eyes to see I’m hovering above the ground, focusing on my magic lifting me I pull it up making my body rise higher.

“Oh my goddess, you can levitate!” Preston says stepping out after me making me laugh.

“I can do a lot of things you don’t know of.” I say in a snarky tone.

“Show me.” He says while I lower myself to the ground looking at him with confusion.

“What do you mean?show you what?” I ask shaking my hands out letting myself relax.

“Your magic, I want to watch you use your magic.” He says all at once as I cock my head to the side, Parker never hung around when I prcticed.

“You want to watch me practice magic? Why?” I ask softly looking over to him as he moves closer to me.

“I want to know you, all of you including the part of you thats a witch.” He says softly making my heart flutters to his voice.

“Your brother never took an interest in my magic, he was supportive just not interested I guess.” I say almost to myself as a frown spreads across his face.

“Well I’m not my brother, and I want to know everything about you.” He finishes and my head drops while I play with my fingers.

“Ok.” I answer simply, with that I drop to the ground shifting in to my wolf as I dart off towards the forest.

My paws pound in to the dirt and I hear his hit right behind me I focus on my body, my muscles clench and release with each stride, my fur rustling through the wind, within seconds I cloak my body not being seen from the outside eye. I stop, moving off to the side as I watch Preston search around for me sniffing away as he looks.

I charge him, slamming in to his body shoving him back as my body collides with his and I become uncloaked.

“How the hell did you do that?” He asks through Mind link making me giggle taking off in to the forest again running back down the path. I look up to the sky pulling the clouds forward to form above us, I picture a warm summer rain coming down on to us as I feel little drops start to hit my face and I begin to laugh uncontrollably.

After a little while we decide to head back to the pack house as it’s getting late, I walk in as Evans coming down the stairs and my face drops when he see’s Preston standing behind me.

“Hey Valerie, the twins are upstairs waiting for you.” He says walking passed not even paying any attention as I let out a loud deep breath.

Even though Preston is Parker’s twin they have a lot of differences, Preston likes his hair longer, he also trained a lot more then Parker so he’s bigger and stronger, I feel so small next to him. His brother was genial and sweet, Preston is intimidating and very forward. I can’t lie that I do feel the connection to him but I’m scared, it’s so different then the way it felt with Parker and that scares me.

We reach my room and I can hear the girls chatting on the either side of the doors. I walk in as they both turn to me then to Preston as poppy’s mouth drops open and I feel shame wash over me, taking a deep breath I sit down. We talk about my magic and how it’s developing they teach me a few tricks for conjuring magic when I need and how much to use, we last discuss finding my mother, we decide once I’m done training we will start searching.

We spend most of the night practicing while Preston sleeps soundly in my bed, we decide to go in to the arena with 3 of our warriors to train against them as well as each other, who knows what my mother has planned for us. Sweaty and exhausted I land on the ground 4 hours later, the dark covers me in a cool comfort while I breath heavily laying in the dirt.

“Well I think we’re ready.” Pepper says collapsing down beside me.

“Yeah, honestly we didn’t think you were this advanced already, you catch on quick.” Poppy says joining her sister as I smile over to them.

“I told you, what ever my mother did while I was out there unlocked a whole new power in me that I fully connected with.” I answer as the girls look between each other and we finally get up to report to the Alpha.

Going in we tell him what are next step is as he agrees and the twins leave to go start tracking Griselda, I stay behind in the office with my head down knowing Evan wants to talk to me.

“Are you ok?” He asks softly as my eyes dart up in confusion.

“Yeah, why?” I ask back while he stands to come over to me.

“You just seem off and I wanted to check in.” He states placing his hand on my shoulder.

“Im conflicted, I don’t know how I’m supposed to feel. Preston makes me happy, I can feel again and it’s magical. But I miss Parker and it hurts knowing I’ll never have him again, I guess I’m struggling to move forward. Hopefully after Griselda’s dead it will be easier.” I say in one long breath as he nods.

“Ok well lets finish this then, I’ll be with you the whole way.” He says making me smile.
