Chapter 1: Roxburghe

***Nala's P.O.V

"Are you almost through, Dr. Nala?" Blair inquired me as she stood in front of the door.

I gave her a smile before answering.

"Please stop calling me doctor, I'm not as yet and nowhere near to its title," I told her as I continued to smile and completed putting all the instruments Dr. Annie had used to treat her patients for the day.

Blair gave me a warm smile.

"Yes, I am, but I'm not yet ready to leave. You can leave without me." I gave her the answer she wanted.

"I can wait, I'm not in any hurry," Blair responded back to me.

I nodded to her.

Blair is a nurse and a new worker of Dr. Annie. She has been working with us for a month now. She's twenty, two years older than me. She's a helpful and kind-hearted person and does very well with our patients. Her warm smiles and beautiful appearance always allowed the patients to feel so welcome. Blair has short blonde hair and chestnut brown eyes. It was not compared to my dark brown eyes. She's 5 feet tall and 9 inches. She's a little taller than me and has more weight. She is not slim nor too fat she is of the perfect weight.

Blair moved away from the door and went into the waiting area to wait on me. As she did, I took off the white coat Dr. Annie gave me from the day I started to work with her. It was eight months ago. I remembered the day after Dr. Charles brought me here Dr. Annie surprised me with my white coat. I was happy the day she gave me it. It was also the day I started my first training to become a doctor. I was elated even though I was still grieving over the loss of my mom. It wasn’t easy staying with Dr. Annie within this new land, Roxburghe. Of all the pain I had been through within the terrible land Burnesfield by that bitch alpha Anton and his father. It was still haunting me here. It took me months before I started to slowly get over the feeling of loss, anger, and pain all thanks to Dr. Annie and Dr. Charles who would sometimes visit me. I am indeed thankful to have them. They were the ones who gave me the strength to get through life every day.

I placed my coat into the closet where Dr. Annie also places here's as well. Dr. Annie didn't stay all day at her office. Once she has completed all her appointments for the day, she would go home leaving Blair and me to tidy up the office. Since I was new to the doctor thing and was still learning. I only did small things such as cleaning and dressing injuries. For any injuries that were not severe, I would do it with the help of Dr. Annie sometimes and in all the severe cases Dr. Annie did those. I needed to study and train more to start taking on serious works which will take me years as Dr. Annie had said.

I sat down in Dr. Annie's office and began to go through some of the notes I had taken today watching her treating patients with serious injuries. I always do this before heading home not to forget what I had learned new for the day. I carefully read over the five sheets I've taken down. I didn't bother to read over all the sheets of paper. Blair was waiting on me and I didn't want her to wait too long and so I placed my small booklet within my black handbag and began on my way out of the office. I will continue the review of my daily note when I get home.

Blair got up as she saw me. Soon we were both outside of Dr. Charles's building. Blair and I were close even though we weren't of the same age. We like working with each other. Blair's home where she resided with her cousin was not too far from Dr. Annie's home and so we would walk home together.

"I'm accompanying you home today, I need to ask Dr. Annie something," Blair told me as we headed along the road.

"Okay," I answer her softly.

I arrive home. I open the door allowing her in.

"Dr. Annie," I called as I closed the front door behind me.

"Yes," she answered as she approached us from the kitchen into the hall.

"Do you still want me to purchase more cleaning liquid since you've got some today or reduce the amount you wanted?" Blair inquired Dr. Annie.

"Just reduce it by a half," the doctor told her.

"Okay,” Blair answered her.

"Well, I must leave now, goodbye," Blair began her way home.

"Alright," I wave at her as I smiled.

"See you tomorrow," the doctor told her.

Blair suddenly stopped before opening the door and turned towards me.

"Nala," she called.

"Yes," I answered her.

"My cousin and I are going to the bar just to have a drink non-alcohol drink since I have work tomorrow, to celebrate her new job, do you want to come?" she inquired me.

"I can't," I answered her politely with a smile.

"Why not!" Dr. Annie inquired me loudly.

"I don't feel like going anywhere," I told her.

"It will be fun, and we won't take long, you'll be home in less than an hour," Blair eagerly wanted me to come.

Before I could tell her, I wasn't interested.

Dr. Annie shuts me up.

"From the day you came here, it's just work and home you're young and you need to have fun," Dr. Annie complained to me.

"I don't need any fun," I complained back.

"What time are you going to the bar?" Dr. Annie inquired Blair ignoring me.

"Within two hours," she answered her.

"She'll be there," Dr. Annie told Blair.

Blair nodded with a smile and went off. I couldn't believe what I had just heard.

"Dr. Annie!" I call angrily. "I don't want to go to a stupid bar," I argued with her.

"Just go to this once and I promise I will not bother you anymore," Dr. Annie said to me.

I frown.

She smiled and went off into the kitchen.

"You need to have fun!" Dr. Annie said as she laughs leaving me in the hallways. I stand angrily hating what was happening. I came within this land to train to become a doctor and to become strong as well. I didn't come here to party especially at a bar.
