THE CONTRACT(PART TWO)

She blew him a kiss. She was so easily mollified. He was uncertain of growing bored, but redundancy drifted nearby waiting impatiently…

He would not succumb. Not this time. She had it coming better.

He hurried down the stairs, used the elevator and walked out the front glass door, which opened by itself as the staff at the hotel greeted him and gave him a bow. He came out into the lightly falling rain and saw where his Ferrari was with four of his bodyguards standing in front of it.

"James" Aldan ordered as he ignored the rain and walked to the Ferrari with one of the bodyguards opening the door as he entered and instructed his driver on where they were going, the journey to his residence. Not a home. Simply, a place where he resided where he would trudge in his favorite wine and contemplate why he refused to stay the night with Angelica. Such a small request, but conceding to it would give her too much control over him and he didn't want that from her. And, he was a man who relished his freedom. He'd gone too much of his life without possessing either control or independence.

He sat down and heaved a sigh, lolling back his head on the headboard on the car seat, having different thoughts, if he should change his plan to go to the residence or go to his office instead and looked over some documents to know who was still holding his money in full.

He needed some action, probably kicking some butt and venting his stress on his debtors, spilling some blood out of them, for delaying the loan and the interest, they were supposed to pay him as they had promised.

"Sire,' Andrew politely called him. Without any response, he just simply looked at him as an indication to say whatever he wanted to relay to him.

Andrew saw his dark bloody expression, swallowed and continued. "Mr Richard had requested for you to attend his 75th birthday party this weekend and he also sent you a letter." His driver, Andrew said and assisted him in ripping off the envelope and brought out the letter and handed it over to him.

"Did I tell you that I wanted to read the letter, why the hell did you open it?" He snapped.

"I'm sorry,' he bowed remorsefully and shut his eyes. "I just had to open it because it seemed urgent, Sire."

Aldan forcefully took the letter from him and almost read everything that was written in it.

Damn him.

He wanted him home. Did he think that writing these lovey-dovey words through a letter will bring him home, he should think again.

And it also mentioned that he was sick, the old man must probably be in his sick bed and he wanted to see him, after all this time.

He wanted to see him.

It's been years.

His father, damn him, had gotten married several times after his mother's demise, to several women which had also given him more children and he loathed all of them. That was why he left home to see the outside world and also learn to be strong, independent in making his own wealth and power, without his father's power and wealth, rather than depending on his father and showing fake love, affection to him, like his Step Brothers and sisters do, because they all wanted their father's money.

Except for him.

He didn't want to be any of that with those losers, rather he chose to be able to stand his ground and be a man.

The only person with the good brains was the youngest of all, who had the same thoughts too, and also didn't want to depend on his father's power and wealth, but he was helpful especially when things were still pretty tough for him while he was struggling to get to the top. He was the only one, he never hated because of how different he was from the others.

He'd been dependent on the kindness and generosity of his youngest brother, Ransom Abbot. He may have been the last born, but he acted as though he were the first-irritatingly responsible, obsessed with duty. comported himself with the mien of someone three times his age and that's the kind of intelligence Aldan loved about him.

Aldan looked at the letter again and saw the last statement on the white piece of paper.

He wanted to see him settle down with a smart woman.

What the hell.

Was this his dying wish already? In his sick bed, he is still giving him orders on what to do and what he wants him to do.

What kind of a father was this?

Seeing the letter and reading it all over again, he knew that the old man really wanted to see him, but if he refuses his request, it won't be fair and besides he hasn't seen him all these years, perhaps he had something he wanted to say to him, that's why he called for him.

How did he even find him, in the first place?

Competently, he shouldn't underestimate his father's connections and know his father can do anything he wants to do.

He didn't want to go home but he had to, he had no other choice but to go home to see his dying father if that was how he was supposed to put it.

If he should go home to his father without a woman, he's going to question him, give him an ugly impression, that he wasn't responsible enough.

He wanted his father to see him as a complete man, knowing that leaving home without asking for his help, built him up and turned well, recognised him as a man.

Now, there was only one thing to do.

He needed a woman, a pretty lady, sexy, well-toned and a smart one at that.

Now, the question was, who was he going to take to the party to feign and act like his woman since he got no one he was serious with.

Angelica's face flashed through his mind.

No way! No, he isn't taking her along; she is a total risk to him.

She will ruin everything for him.

He thought for a second and sighed as he just remembered and got an excellent idea. He didn't want to do this, but at the same time, he had no other choice.

Taking this step was safe, no one knows him, which will be safer.

"Andrew,"

"Yes, Sire.'

"Take me to the House of Angels." He ordered.

That was his only option now.

"Yes, Sire.' He agreed.

He began driving. Aldan looked at the letter again, for a while and muttered under his breath as he frowned.

"This is sure as hell, going to be a long day?!"
