Narrator's P.O.V.

Nineteen years ago, the moon goddess decided to bless a couple with a very rare gift, A gift she believed the world needed, but this gift would pose a great deal of trouble for the young couple.

On their son's very first birthday, A rich color of red painted the sky as the moon. The sun fought for dominance as the moon goddess reach down to bless the boy with a gift that would change him and his parent's life forever Because this gift was unlike any other gift.

It didn't take long before the family had to run for their lives. All because the Alpha of the river pack didn't like the idea of a one-year-old baby who could bring the entire pack to their knees just by crying. So, he gathered every warlock and witch, he could find to do his dirty work for him.

But James wouldn't let the deranged man hurt his son. As soon as he found out about the plan to execute his one-month-old son, he took his small family and made a run for it.

It's been Nineteen years and the Alpha still hasn't given up hunting the family, he was consumed by his obsession to destroy the Mercy family. A few months later he tracked them down to a small cottage in England, but before he could get to them, they were gone. He only found the cottage in a blaze and the family he was hunting was nowhere to be found…

After what happened in England, the Mercy family relocated to the states after being gone for over five years. They took residence in a small town that seem long forgotten by humanity, but it was just what they needed to get by.

For weeks James took his usual spot by the window to watch over his family as he has been doing for years. He patrols the abandoned house at night to ensure his family's safety. He could not sleep knowing that they were at risk. Not only that, but he had to always be vigilant, always ready to act when push come to shove.

But it didn't take long for the villain to locate them again, he knew just how unlucky they were when it came to shaking the Alpha because Trouble always found them like flies on rotten meat.

He stood patiently by the window, watching the black van that was posted a few blocks down the narrow street. For two days the van occupied the same spot, never moving but only watching. It didn't strike him as strange, he was so used to the routine that he knew exactly what it meant. He knew that Alpha Trent would be sending his warriors as soon as it's confirmed that they're there.

He found himself in a very sticky situation, he had nowhere left to run. Over the years only one person came to mind asking for help, but his fear wouldn't allow him to contact his friend, but now he had no other option but to call Colton and beg for help.

With only one path to take, he picked up the burner phone to call Colton. His best friend answered on the first ring, relief flooded James as his once forgotten friend's voice rolled over the phone line.

He explains the situation to him, but didn't disclose to him the reason they were missing for so long, he was too afraid that another Alpha would try to wipe away what he held dearest to him.

Alpha Colton commanded the blue crescent moon pack and James's best friend a long time ago. He had known Cole since they were small boys, who used to frolic in the creek behind Colton's parent's house. There was a time when they were inseparable, you didn't see one without the other. But as the years went by and adulthood took root, the two became just a memory to each other.

James was once a member of the blue Crescent moon pack, he was one of the best warriors the pack had ever seen. However, fate had other plans for him, the night his best friend got crowned the new alpha, he met his mate Lora and instantly the decision to move to his mate's pack to be close to her was made

He and Colton had come to an agreement that he would move back to the pack with his family, so they would be better protected from what was hunting them. However, only one thing stopped them from leaving at this minute, and it was their eldest son Malachi.

Malachi was no ordinary werewolf, he was born with something special. He was getting stronger and his powers were becoming a walking time bomb, there was no way he could stay out in the open like this without drawing attention.

Even though he was trained to keep his power hidden, it still didn't hide how different he was. Have the years passed by, his powers grew along with his constant questions of why they couldn't be a normal family, but James couldn't produce an answer for him without sounding like he regretted having him.

How could he tell his son that he was the reason Tommy didn't have a normal life, or that his mom was unable to sleep because of the constant nightmare she has of Alpha Trent killing him? That they were only doing this because an egotistical maniac wanted him dead because he was afraid of what he would become.

He was unable to do that to his son, so when Malachi came to ask him why they had to flee again, James didn't answer his question. He only told the boy to go and get ready to leave as soon as nightfall.

Even though Malachi didn't know why he was running, he obeyed his father like the obedient boy he pretends to be.

Author's Notes.

This should give you guys a brief insight into where I am heading with this story, and should give you a peek at why Malachi is the way he is.

There will be numerous twists and turns in this story, maybe a few tears here and there. So please don't be afraid to point out my errors, I'm not perfect but with your help, I can tailor the chapters better.

On a more serious note, I would like to end each chapter with a positive message, it's just to put a little sunshine in your day or night. I don't know what time zone you're on.

Positive messages.

(Discipline + Focus + Action = Success.)
