Chapter 4

Althea remained on her knees as she continued sobbing slowly. While Joshua has already started walking away with the guard. He didn't bother to wave at her or anything but rather just left.

"Stand up my daughter, you shouldn't be crying." Costello said, urging Althea to get up on her feet.

She slowly stood up from the floor where she had kneeled. And Costello called a maid to take her to her room. He instructed the maid to attend to her needs.

"No,stop crying and go with her, I will see you in the dining room." Costello said,as the maid took her away.

The maid led her to a door and stopped. She flipped open the door and urged her to go in. Althea walked into the bedroom and glanced around. The room was big and beautiful. It was painted with white and blue. Althea walked towards the king size bed and sat on the soft bed and continued glancing around. The room was way bigger than hers back in her aunt's house and even more beautiful. She was memorizing her new beautiful bedroom but also a little sad about what was happening recently. She has had a boring life until now. She was supposed to get better and have a much better life since she heard her father was coming over but instead the worse happened.

She really doesn't know what to think or do, but she didn't really see any of these things coming her way. She has never lived a normal life like others, but rather she always has something to worry about and be sad about.

"Ma'am, this is your closet and everything you need is in here." The maid said, interrupting her thoughts.

"Ok, thanks." She replied.

"Ma'am, would you like to check out the closet, just in case there is something you need and it's not in here,so we could get it as soon as possible." The maid said,

"No, not now, I will check it out maybe later, you should go and attend something else." Althea told her.

"Ok ma'am but if you need me you can just reach out to me, through the headline." The maid said pointing at the headline in her nightstand drawer.

"I will thank you." Althea replied.

"You are welcome ma'am." The maid smiled at her and turned around and started walking out of her room.

She heaved a signed after the maid has left. And stood up from her bed, and walked towards the door. She locked it up and walked back to her bed. She just wanted to be alone. She doesn't need anyone to disturb her thoughts again. She laid on her bed and relaxed back on it as she thought about her life and how it's was going. She remain there for hours dwelling on her thoughts.

Later that evening Costello instructed a maid to go and prepare her for the occasion because he knew that his Xavier would be home and he had already planned the evening for an introduction. And he would do that in the dining room.

A knock woke her up from her slumber. She had slept off while dwelling on her thoughts earlier. She heard the knock again and slowly, stood up from her bed and pulled herself towards the door. She unlocked it and the maid walked in.

"Good evening ma'am, I'm sorry did I disturb your beauty sleep?" The maid asked.

"Yes, you did,so what do you want now again?" Althea asked.

"Well, your soon to be husband would be back any moment and the boss has asked me to get you prepared for dinner." The maid answered.

"Oh ok,so what are we beginning with?" Althea asked.

"I'm on it." The maid smiled as she walked over to the bathroom.

The maid moved towards the bathtub and mixed warm soapy water on the bathtub. She grabbed a shampoo and hair conditioner and dropped it beside the bathtub before walking back into her room. "Your bath is ready ma'am." She announced as she stood before Althea. Who slowly walked over to the bathroom. She took off her clothes and got into the bathtub.

The maid showed her her shampoo and condition before walking out. The maid made her way to her closet and flipped it open as she started picking out a prepared dinner dress. She checked through the closet for a while before she finally settled for a red plain dress with a blue rose design. She picked it out and dropped it on the bed before proceeding to get a black heels from her shoe racks. She dropped it closer to the bed and had her seat on the bed as she waited patiently for Althea to come out of the bathroom.

After some time Althea walked out of the bathroom with a towel tied around her chest. The maid quickly stood up immediately she walked in and led her to the dresser and made her sit. She went back to the closet and picked out a matching panties and bra which she handed over to Althea. Who quickly dressed into them. The maid took up the hair dryer and plugged it into the wall and started drying her hair. She proceeded to help Althea wear her dress before making her sit again. As she started applying make-up to her face.

After applying make-up to her face, she allowed her to spare her reflection for some time. While she goes to bring her shoes which she helped her wear immediately. She wears Althea silver earrings and a necklace before giving her a silver purse too.

"Now my lady, you are ready to see your husband." The maid smiled.

"Ok thanks but can I ask you something?" Althea asked.

"Yes sure, go ahead." The maid urged her to talk. But she had started feeling nervous about the whole thing. She was still surprised that she was going to get married to a total stranger that she had never seen before.

She doesn't even know if he was the mean type or not. But her fate was already determined by her father. She wondered how she was going to cope with all the new development now but there was really no escape for her. She has to face what was before her right now.

"Ma'am!" The maid called her attention after waiting for her to ask her what she wanted to ask.

"Yes," Althea answered.

"You said you wanted to ask me something and I have been waiting for you to do so but you haven't said anything until now." The maid sighed.

"Well about that, don't worry about it, it's fine and besides it's nothing serious though." Althea told her.

"Are you sure ma'am?" The maid asked.

"Yes, I'm sure,so tell me what am I supposed to do now?" Althea asked her.

"Oh, pardon my manners, let's go to the dining room, the boss must be waiting for you by now." The maid said,

"Ok then let's go." Althea replied standing up from the chair she was sitting as she held her purse closer to herself nervously.

"Honestly you are really beautiful, the young master would fall for you immediately he set his eyes on you." She complimented.

"Thanks," Althea smiled as they both started walking over to the bedroom.

They made their way to the dining room but Althea never stopped feeling nervous about everything and glancing at the floor as they walked on.

"There you are, come and have a seat." Costello said immediately he saw her walking into the dining room with the maid.

Althea walked over to him and sat down at the spot he had pointed for her which was beside Xavier. Who wasn't even looking her way but rather his attention was on his cell phone which he was holding. Althea had her seat and the cook immediately started dishing out the food into their plates. Xavier dropped his cellphone on the table and grabbed his cutleries as he started eating immediately. While Althea who was beside him also did the same. But since she walked into the dining room a few minutes ago. She couldn't help but glance at the fine young man seated beside her. He was the real definition of handsomeness. He could be past for a Greek god because he has that perfect round face and cute small pink lips and also a pointed nose that stood out well.

He was in a shirt and his perfect figure could be seen from what he was wearing but he hasn't spared her a glance since she walked into the dining room a few minutes ago but she can't help but stare at him. As she continued eating she wondered why he was so focused on his cell phone.

Costello cleared his throat. "Xavier, meet Althea, your wife." Costello instructed and he stopped for a while and turned over to her and hummed before returning back to his phone.
