Lilly's Pov…
When Lilly heard "Lilly!" she was sound asleep in her room. Sleepy head, Lilly wakes up! You'll be late, Queen Sara's stepmother screamed angrily at her from the kitchen. Her stepmother yelled downstairs in a loud voice that was clear evidence of her anger.
When Lilly reached the bottom of the stairs, her stepmother was left gaping like a fish as she hurried down to help her and the cooks in the kitchen. Lilly was stumbling down the stairs looking sloppy, filthy, and lethargic as usual. She had calmly asked, "Is there something on my face," adding anger to her stepmother's aggravation, "You look like you was hit by a bus,"
I raised you better, her stepmother approached her with the intent of hitting her in the face. I raised you better, her stepmother added as she approached her after she moaned and left the kitchen.
"When something is asked of you, do it without objecting," We are all human, but Lilly rolled her eyes and said, "It's not my fault I was cursed to look like a hairy beast by every full moon."
Lilly constantly felt as though the queen was consistently undermining her self-confidence and making her feel unwelcome in the castle.
Lilly has endured abuse from her stepmother and treatment like trash ever since her father passed away. She longs for the day when she will experience unconditional love.
Lilly questioned her while she kept up her casual demeanor, "Even where are we going off to?"
"Young woman! Sometimes you may be incredibly difficult," she added, mentally referring to Lilly, adding, "don't talk unless you are spoken to.
Some things I wish I was a werewolf, Lilly said. "I might even be treated well, live my life how I like, and achieve my dreams."
"What do you want to be? You can't sink so low as to say you want to be one of them after what they did to the kingdom in the past, killing your father and so many people in the kingdom, even though we don't currently have any problems with werewolves, her stepmother retorted in a strong and clear voice "
"Well, that doesn't give me a reason to hate werewolves since I know they killed my father when we're all aware that my father was the catalyst for the conflict," she said, lowering her head a little.
We were so eager to condemn werewolves and label them as devils even though we had no intention of ever engaging with them.
She folded her arms across her chest and shouted angrily, "I don't care, Lilly, all I want is for you to go to that bedroom and get dressed.
"We are expecting a significant visitor to the castle today; you will meet him as well because he is a well-known member of the local elite.
You might have the chance to meet a wealthy man you want to wed at this event ". My mouth dropped open in shock, "who to marry I doubt that I understood you clearly."
"I do refer to marriage." You're getting me married off to someone I don't even know, Lilly retorted. In horror, Lilly's hands began to tremble.
"Now that I'm twenty and able to make my own decisions, getting married is the last thing on my mind.
There are many things I would like to do if I still have the chance, but I feel like I'm still too young to be married to a man I don't really love."
The look on her stepmom's face embodied disappointment; her thin nose was cocked, and her devilishly red lips twitched. She was almost 25 years old, and her stepmother yelled at her to stop complaining, saying, "I've given you all the freedom you need in all these years.
This is our one opportunity for you to be useful to us and the kingdom; what else do you want to do as a princess, at least now that all your boobs and body are still youthful, firm, and haven't fallen flat?
"You will marry a very wealthy man, which will assist improve the military and financial might of the kingdom," she said sarcastically.
She drew an eyebrow from Lilly. "What freedom have you given me? Is your concept of freedom putting me in the castle? I'm twenty, I don't think that's close to twenty-five." But because the queen was a very cunning person, every word she heard was gradually taking hold in her mind "I don't want to turn into a simple princess, thus this is still against my will. I want to meet my mother's side of the family, travel Milan, and find love on my own.
Even though I have seen her images and discovered that we look exactly alike, there is still more I want to learn about my mother, her past, and who she was.
"You are a princess, you can't be seen around low-class people, this is the only way to save the kingdom," the queen retorted. I have no doubt that your marriage will bring us all joy, and it will also aid in our healing from all the losses we have endured through the years.
Lilly muttered to herself that something was wrong since the queen was so insistent on her getting married as she said with a sneer on her face.
What if I reject the proposal—couldn't he still benefit the kingdom without our union? What if we convince him to concur? The monarch shakes her head in dismay.
You cannot simply rebel against this because the deal was reached five years ago and you are still too young to comprehend it.
We owe them money, therefore we can't just let them down after all the promises we made to them.
Stop making a huge deal out of this, please. I don't care, Lilly; just follow instructions, enter your bedroom, and get ready; he'll be there in two hours.
The queen understood that since the wealthy guy is not of royal lineage, if she could marry her, she would have to cede her whole claim to the kingdom to the queen.
As she stormed out of the kitchen, the queen yelled to the cook, "I want the tables set and the best of the best prepared for him.
While others hurriedly placed silverware and cleaned the gold seats, three slaves ran into the dinner hall carrying dishes in their arms.
The queen was in a nasty temper, which caused everyone to panic. We need to finish this before the guest arrives, an older servant yelled as we grew late.
Lilly returned to her chamber, took a bath, and attempted to comprehend all the queen had said. While doing so, she had the idea, "I know the queen was just planning a lie to ensure the marriage happens; my life is in my own hands, why do I have to do what the queen wants?" I must act now, or I shall come to regret my life.
The women who would get Lilly ready received a knock on the door and brought the outfit the queen had chosen for her, but Lilly couldn't remember wearing it.
To avoid having to wear the outfit that had been purchased for her, she needed a reason to tell her mother. An unfinished hot cup of coffee caught her attention as she cast a glance around the room.
She approached the cup and took it in her palms while grinning. She poured the dark brown liquid on her dress while being silly and slipping the liquid.
"Oops," she said with a phony smile as she caused the cup to tumble to the ground. The cup fell on the floor in the queen's room of Lilly, and she heard it.
As soon as she saw Lilly's mess on the garment, she hurried up to her. The queen cried out; "Where did the dress go? Why did you pour coffee all over your dress?"
